Pile 5: In 2015 we met at the mall he was working at as I was buying a pair of shoes. As soon as I saw him I instantly had a strong infatuation with him. We only talked for a few minutes and I later tried to find him on Instagram but never did. Fast forward 8 months later, he added me on Instagram without even remembering who I was. He sent me a DM asking if I wanted to go on a date. He later told me that this was something he never did to girls. I accepted and we were inseparable ever since. She’s right in that things flowed so easily, like nothing I have experienced before.
We broke up 2 months ago because he was struggling with addiction. I tried to help him as much as I could but ultimately, it’s not my job to change someone. She’s right in that there are a lot of lessons to be learned with this relationship.
I’ve always felt like we were soul mates and we were both devastated by the break up, but it needed to happen in order for him to change and get sober for good.
