Can’t wait to see you continue this army
Thanks! Think I'll do the hover bike things next. The pioneers I think they're called.
This turned out beautifully. Never seen that kind of base before, fantastic idea. And the colour scheme works so well 👌
Thanks! It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted, but I'm pleased with it.
Love the channel and the videos, the aesthetics and the vibe in general are amazingly pleasant and chill. Awesome painting job also!
Thank you so much!
That recessed base blew my mind!
Thanks! Turned out better than I'd hoped.
Just found this channel and couldn’t be happier.
Oh, thank you! Enjoy the backlog!
That came out great, a good balance between all the elements.
Thanks! I'm pretty pleased with it.
Love the channels aesthetics and content.
thanks! I'll keep making them if you keep watching!
You do such an amazing work in every video, keep it up 🥰
Thank you! Will do!
I really like how this can out. That base was awesome too....
Thanks!
that base is fantastic. might have to steal that idea with the recessed lip. very clever
Give me a few days and I'll load the 3D file to my cults page for free!
Very nice Tutorial! Just found your Chan and looking forward to dig deeper. Greetings from Germany!
Welcome aboard! Have fun digging through the library, and keep an eye out for new videos every week!
A great result! Tokyo looks lovely too!
Thanks! The snow was beautiful, but only lasted a day!
Awesome video man. Keep it up
will do!
First time seeing the channel, really digging the Kahl! Love your production, its simple and has a pleasant soothing vibe. Very enjoyable to watch start to finish. You have a professional demeanor which for this hobby, is almost non-existent outside of a handful of very prolific model painters who are pros. But I guess as the hobby social media sphere has evolved, channels feel they need to stand out more with jokes and skits, which in a way has made traditional channels kinda scarce. Its not often I subscribe to lesser known, newer channels but you got my sub for sure! I look forward to future vids and also more of Japan. I have visited the country several times now, racking up about 4 months worth of time, hoping to go again next year in summer.
I'm glad you found the channel, and thanks for the sub!
Thank you for the insight, and inspiring content.
My pleasure!
Really impressed with your HQs base. Inspiring me to want to try a resin pour!
It's easier than you might think!
I really love your channel man, great quality content and video. I also love the slice of Japanese culture you share with us. An aspect of 40k I love is being able to see how different cultures clash with each other. Seeing an American wargamming nerd traverse the hobby in a different country is cool cool
Thanks you! It's certainly an adventure.
Hey I really like the the channel, I love the passing and the personal touch. Now that you are in the winter spirit maybe you could paint the capes/vest (actually it's called gilet, this one is a long one) with a more traditional pattern like a kotatsu instead of grey, those space knees will not keep warm on their own.
Now THAT'S a wild idea! :)
Okay I now want to build Votann…
Mission accomplished!
@@thehammerofwrath do you happen to sell your commissions or sell the ones from any of your videos? This diorama was amazing.
I do paint commissions. You can contact me via email in the "about" link in the channel info!
@@thehammerofwrath sent an email your way.
I adore this scheme. I don't really like the GW aqua green models but your color scheme is fantastic! Those glowing blades look phenomenal!
Thanks! I really wanted to make the named character, but I didn't want to paint the army in that aquagreen scheme
I also just started votann
fun, right?
I love this so much. If you were to apply this scheme to whole army, how would you apply it to a land fort or a hearthguard?
well, there's only one way to find out! :) In for a penny, in for a pound. And I am a sucker for a multi-wheeled vehicle...
@@thehammerofwrath Your choice in scheme is just so serene, and I can't wait to see it translated onto the heavy armor and giant vehicles. Can't wait to see what you come up with. What i can say is that you have inspired someone who hasn't painted in years to give it another go.
That's incredible! Glad to hear it and hope you can share your progress in the future!
I keep watching ur vids. The citadel paints you're airbrushing. How do you transfer the paint from the pot to the air brush? Or do u transfer from pot to droppers? At what ratio do u add airbrush thinner??
Awesome video btw! Just chill and relaxing to watch
Thanks! Often I simply use an old flat (smallish) brush to scoop the paint from the pot and "shovel" it into the airbrush cup, a couple scoops at a time. Then I mix water (or sometimes thinner) from a dropper bottle in a nearly 1to1 mix. Each paint is different, as some are thinner than others, but I try to get a "chocolate milk" consistency in the reservoir cup. Hope this helps.
I have been wondering how do stay motivated I just get so frustrated when things start to get hard and when things t ages
it's tough, and before I started a youtube channel I would sometimes walk away from the hobby for MONTHS at a time. I have found that switching projects (working on more than one army at a time) helps to alleviate burnout and boredom. Good luck! You got this!
First of all, great video!! ^^
How would you paint large surfaces, such as vehicles, with that white/bone method?
Thank you! Honestly, I wouldn't do it without an airbrush! The reality is that white and yellow are VERY difficult to paint, especially over large surfaces.
very well done. I'm debating a league of votann army for 10th ed.
Life is short; PAINT EVERYTHING!
Great paint job! I was wondering what glue you used at the end for the assembly? I'm also doing a sub-assembly for the first time and all the glues I have tend to make a sort of white "frost" around where they dry Which I'd like to avoid. Thanks!
I'm using Testor's Model Masters, but have also found Revell Contacta Pro to be excellent.
@@thehammerofwrath Awesome, thanks for the reply!
may I ask what color did you paint under the cloak?
I used Ushabti bone and Zandri dust.
Hi,
What is sprugl?
"sprue goo" is a mixture of chopped up sprue in a bottle of thin plastic cement. It melts and makes a plastic paste you can use to fill cracks and seams. But, any modeling putty would work just fine.
