Meghalaya, known for its hills, greenery, and natural beauty, has seen the discovery of many hidden gems in recent years. These factors have boosted tourism, contributing significantly to the state's economy. However, with rising popularity, the concern of maintaining cleanliness has become more prominent. Wahniangleng, also known as Bull's Trek, is one such site attracting attention for its scenic beauty, particularly on social media. It is about 27 kilometers from Shillong city.
The story delves into how a community transformed Wahniangleng into a self-sustained tourist site and grooming young environment warriors.

Meghalaya has always been my favourite place since my childhood days. I am worried with the increasing popularity of the state the number of tourist visiting the state might destroy this lovely place. My ardent request to the Meghalaya govt., local people and NGOs to plant more local trees, flowers, complete ban on plastic products, and taking some steps to reduce human footprints to protect its environment for the future generations.

We use to go for weekend fishing with friend, indeed a beautiful place but we don't bother taking pictures and post it since tourism footfall have destroyed most of our state sceneric spots with single use plastic and bottle.
Kudos to the village community for their efforts in keeping it clean and green
But don't let the local people face the burden of huge fees levied as tourist fees since this place was an anglers peace of heaven in this beautiful spot
