Oh man. Just what I needed. I was literally in a drawing slump. I wanted to make a comic but wasn't getting any inspiration. But now ideas are assaulting my brain....maybe I'll write a story about a plumber bunny....well off to make my first comic!! Thanks so much kesh!!!❤❤
But there is a plumber at my house

Hopefully I’ll get around to actually doing something…
Thank you for your encouraging videos! 💖
I can’t even draw a thumbnail of a page in 5 hours…

I’ve been waiting this my entire life, I’m still drawing characters and still haven’t done the whole story and everything yet
working on a huge (heavily manga influenced) webcomic and this is actually so helpful
for now i'm just messing around drawing my characters so i can get a feel of what it might actually be like if i were to make the final versions of these little drafts but..
soon enough i'll be using this to start working on it all
gimme free copy of it when it comes out
@@MythicaITree i have my plot laid out and everything else but i’m planning to make it free to read online once i’m ready!
@@rymaix Nice! Good Luck...
3:15 made me remember how in sixth grade me and one of my classmates used to draw stick figure comics, they were one page long, and were basically just one big fight, but it was super fun coming to school every monday and showing each other those pages, what kind of fights we thought up and how we played with the pacing and mostly visuals, I remeber one time I decided that just stick figures were boring so I added some perspective, like a camera going around the figures, a first person pov and just things like that, it made them more enjoyable to draw and look at. even tho it wasn't much, hopefully it helped form an at least decent base of skill and understanding of perspective. now it has been a year since i started to kind of draw more often, but I haven't really got to learning anything about art, it just kind of happens that I kind of know how to draw and my friends have been saying that I have a talent for it, so I want to try and improve my skills to not let it go to waste, especially since I enjoy it so much. this video has inspired me to try and make a comic of my own, thank you.
this actually works, i'm not even kidding.
like not exactly the 5 hrs thing and it being your first comic, but the fact that you can finish something you can be proud of in a span of only a few hours.
a friend's birthday was coming up in two days (and i even have little free time to draw cause i was busy) and i wanted to draw a hypothetical scene for their fanfiction as a gift. because of the deadline i had less time and energy to stress about it being perfect and only focused on finishing it on time. i even tried something new (technique-wise) along the way and was happy with it. and they liked it very much even though it was messy as hell 😅
i wish i have this same rushed yet effective process on all my other comic projects, otherwise i would have finished so much this year. i'm hoping to fix this 😭
Always a pleasure to see you, Kesh. Thank you for helping my love for art grow!
Oh, finally! Someone that gives advices that I can actually follow instead of talking generically for hours... Thanks a lot, I'm looking forward for this series!

That's really inspiring ! I really want to draw a first draft for stories I have, but I really struggle on shrinking them to fit 5-10 pages story ://
I'm exactly the same with my comics and I would also like to find a solution.
What a timing! Just starting my first comic. I gotta say. This is a solid an advice as it gets.
1. Get your resources
2. Put a 5hrs timer on
3. Start making your comic with the skills you have.
4. Finish the damn comic.
I would add ...
5. Repeat ( don't just repeat ... )
5.a. Share it
5.b. Notice what you did well & repeat
5.c. Notice what you can improve & improve it.
6. Finish the damn comic ( at your current skill )
Repeat ( don't just repeat ... )
Etc.
Should I use any apps
Oh my god THANK YOU
I have been so tired of hearing the same "keep you big comic project for later and work on something simpler to practice" because it's so discouraging to me to just be told to do something else instead of the thing I actually want to do, so this is actually such a neat solution to that dilemma
Yup! A smaller version or a different version of your project is a good place to start. You get to work on what you like and the end is in sight.
Miyazaki did something similar with shaunas journey. It's a good example to look up:)
i always think those manga creators are so skilled but then i remember what i'm doing is drawing on a paper with a pencil and what they're doing is on a computer which makes a HUGE difference and makes me feel like i can do better if i get the chance :)
There's nothing to do with that, it's skill level
The universe sent me a sign. I started writing a comic idea a couple of days ago. Then, I thought...I have no idea what I'm doing. I started doing research, which then lead to "research" aka procrastination. I saw this video on my feed just now and watch it...I'm convinced, I should just start the draft. Thanks for the push! I look forward to more pushes in the future!
Wow, I'm honestly schocked. This is how I did it im middle school. That was a while ago and now im trying to get into the swing of things again and That's what I was going to do again but thought "I'm an adult, I should think of a more professional way to approach this" then I saw this video telling me, essentially, "just sit down and make it." Very reassuring, thank you!
This is the single most helpful video I’ve found for this topic
Looooved this. Trying to run a marathon in your free time will just result in a lot of unfinished races. Got to lower the stakes and give yourself easier wins.
I’m working on my comic right now so thank you so much for this video!
Me too
Hope it helps :)

This video helped me more than I thought it would. I actually sat down and almost finished with my first version!! It was a little over 5 hours, but not trying to hash out every little detail before starting something is such great advise. Thank you so much for this vid Kesh!!
Thank You Kesh!! I needed to hear this😊.
I'm working since a while on graphic novel project... Studying about how to write a story, developing characters and so on but til now, I've never try to give me a time for completing it and especially, drawing it. This simple, but BIG suggestion, could be the way to bring me to the next step. Thanks for the video 👏🏻👏🏻
So glad to hear that! Happy this was helpful:)
@@KeshArtexcuse me sorry to disturb what app do you use?
love this! tahnk you for this art piece! and good humor :D
This is honestly what i needed to hear. I've had a few ideas that ive been working on for a few months, but I have a tendency to overthink and over plan things when first starting a project. Makes it hard to get the ball rolling. Design and illustration is my day job, but I've never made a comic before so its pretty intimidating to feel like I'm at square one again. But if something is worth doing, its worth doing even if you're not very good yet. I'll figure it out as I go, and that's the fun of it. :)
Thanks for this advice! I was feeling incapable of working on my comic anymore after listening to videos on how to make comic panels, I appreciate what I learned from it, but I felt like I couldn't do it. After watching this, I drew more of my comic and had fun, thanks!
really needed to hear this before starting my first comic thank you!
Wow. I may have signed up for making a conic for a school project… regretted it a bit. Watched this video and felt much better. Thanks man!
You make so much sense!! Thank you❤❤❤❤
This was actually a great unexpected wakeup call! Great job, dude! And thank you!
You're my best art teacher I have ever had
You're my best art teacher I have ever had❤
YES! This is exactly right. You have to allow yourself permission to make the "bad" version first. Only then can you get better!
ngl I feel like I needed this, I mean I don't even have an idea for the story yet, like almost nothing, but I'm just gonna go and make it
Thanks so much, I kept on thinking that I had to do the very best on my first try! Thank you!
It's actually a very great advice! Thanks!
OMG I AM LITERALLY AT THIS POINT! This was awesome!!! Thanks for the boost to get started!
My pleasure:)
This was surprisingly helpful. Thank you.

love this, thanks!
I had to leave sketching because of my studies i sometime still sketch but watching ur videos always make me happy, thankyou kesh ♡
Just want to say 🙏 good luck with your studies, but think about at least sketching or doodling for a couple minutes If you have the time. ✌️ Art
omfg... you're a genius! I've been struggeling with most things because of exactly missing this... 5 hours is about 1 hour too much of what I can concentrate on in one go, so I'll try it with 5 and see if it works out for me.
Thank you so so much!
This is a huge help thank you
lol I was watching this while eating ice cream late at night.
This sounds like a fun idea. I'm looking forward to the follow up video.
This video changed my life forever. Thank you 🙏🏻
I'm happy to hear that:)
This is hugely helpful!!
At 0:19 it doesn’t even look that bad, it looks great!
I’m really bad at drawing but I absolutely respect people’s artwork and even if it looks bad
I can't wait to do a video on this! Great tips as always, Kesh.
Thanks! Looking forward for your vid :)
Wow this might be the best advice I’ve ever heard. Thank you!
You're welcome, happy it helps:)
This sounds like pretty solid advice. I’ll have to try it next time I get a chance. But where does the story making process come in? Do you walk into this with a story already in mind, or do you make one up in the five hours you have? Is character design the same way?
That's actually a pretty good idea. I've already finished 2 small projects but lately I can barely start anything, much less finish. I think I'll set a time, whatever I have available, no matter if it's only one hour and all I can make is a comic strip. It's way less pressure than thinking I'll make a comic for a contest or start a series.
can't wait for the next vid for this series fr fr hehe
Going up literally in an hour :)
Wowww! Great video Kesh ... you are an honest man !
Best advice ever. Thankyou.
I Just Love it!
Thanks man i am about creat my own comic and u released the video on perfect timing thanks for the video man big fan 👍
Thank you!!!
"You will never be satisfied enough to start your dream project" I needed this... This opened my eyes! I feel refreshed! Thank you! I have been wanting to start a web comic for so long but I never knew where to start, how to start, etc etc, I just keep making excuses.. Thank you! I genuinely needed this! I think! I think I can finally begin the process... And that is... Make the most bare bones comic cos I am bad with poses and backgrounds but.. It's a start, and I'll do the 5 hours thing.
This inspired me ✨⭐
Very good technique!!
this video is helping me so much😊 thank you😊
