Too often people find themselves harboring bitterness or resentment for an offense committed against them (either real or perceived). But holding a grudge can be personally destructive and God encourages us to forgive “as the Lord has forgiven you” (Col. 3:13). That’s not always easy, but it is vitally necessary so that bitterness and resentment don’t take us captive. In Mark 6, there is a story about a woman named Herodias who held a grudge so deeply that it ultimately led to the execution of John the Baptist, and it was all because she wanted revenge. Pastor Gary teaches today about the destructive nature of bitterness and how we can be free by God’s grace through forgiveness.

The family decision to enter our mother into a nursing home the last 6 years of her life. Her death Jan 5 2020, of course, Covid 2020, a significant surgery in Dec 2020, and all the nonsense the world is throwing at us has caused me to carry a grug/bitterness. It has caused me to question everyone and everything. Listening to your teaching from Acts 8 and now Mark 6 has shined a light on myself. You are gifted delivering God's word and making it relatable. I am so thankful I have found Cornerstone Chapel and God's word through you!

Pastor Gary Hamrick, I love you with the love of Christ Jesus, although I go to my church, I never hear the way Bible is explained like you explain it, I do and could listen to you all day long instead of any worldly desires. Bless you and your loved ones . All the glory to the Lord my God for using you as His tool, hammer and nail to insert God's Word and knowledge to us fallen beings. Hallelujah to our blessed Lord and Saviour

Don't you just love Gary Hamrick's puns? I do! He is very funny. Like, "It's more complicated than a West Virginia family." When he was telling about Herod's family in his teaching here. 😂❤

Another great Sermon by Pastor Gary. I do wish You had titled this message differently however. It’s not funny about what happened to John the Baptist at all. I know You agree with that, just hearing the congregation laugh after You said what the title of Study was, it just seemed wrong to me. Keep up the great work otherwise, You are definitely one of My Favorites.

Why would anyone laugh at the title of this sermon? That’s absolutely sick.
