Also featuring a stellar cast including Olivia Colman (Secret Invasion, The Crown, The Favourite), Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean), Keegan-Michael Key (The Super Mario Bros Movie) and Hugh Grant (Dungeons and Dragons) as an Oompa-Loompa!

I grew up watching original Willy Wonka with late great Gene Wilder. I was 7 in 1971 when it came out. Then Depp's version was kinda weird with Tim Burton's twist in 2005 with Freddie Highmore as Charlie. Many years ladies, Warner Brothers acquired the rights in 2016 for new movie. A lot of actors auditioned for the role of Willy Wonka. But Paul King, director wanted Timothee Chalamet at the beginning as Willy Wonka. One comment stated that least original Wonka "kid", Charlie played by former child actor turned Veterinarian, Dr. Peter Ostrum will have a cameo in this movie. I believe during an interview, Peter stated that he will have a cameo in this movie. Peter with the rest of original "Wonka Kids" celebrate anniversaries of their classic, but except Denise Nickerson (Violet) died in 2019 at the age of 62. I wonder if others besides Peter will be in this movie.
I talked to Charlie in the limo about being a veterinarian the day i met them all! They were pretty mild mannered except for Mike TV and Veruca. So cool if they could all do cameos and maybe a tribute to Gene and Denise Nickerson. 💗

Okay so, at first I wasn’t sure if Timothée Chalamet was a fit for Willy Wonka. I LOVE Timothée, I just wasn’t sure if this was the role for him.
But oh mah LAWD. Watching this trailer, he’s playing the eccentric and unhinged and zany icon SO WELL!!! I’m so excited for this now! 😍
I knowwww! The Gene Wilder version feels so sacred to us but as soon as you hear Timothée speak, you just know he’s going to give the audience his all! Perfect casting!

Thank you so much!!! I sat in the limo with them for like 15 min. We talked about their experiences and they said it was the first time they were all together in years and they were doing the dvd commentary that evening. It really was a special memory and I wish Angela could’ve been there bc she would’ve been just as happy as I was 💗🥰

Ok, wow, I can't believe she guessed that right! this isn't topical. Interesting factoid; Timothy Chalamet didn't audition for the role, they watched his rapping videos from high school and that was enough.

I MUST ADMIT-I have NEVER seen the original WW in its entirety. That said, I think this looks good! It has kind of an old fashioned feel to it, and I have no issues with what I saw from Chalamet in this. It’s a f’n KILLER cast too.

I get that everyone loves Gene Wilder's version, many of us grew up with that version, but can we PLEASE give other actors a chance to portray the role? It may not end up being your cup of tea, and that's fine, but how will you know if you like Timothee's version if you don't watch the movie?
I’m not sure I saw any negative comments regarding Timothée’s Wonka in our comments but one could’ve squeaked by. I would say most here are excited to see him! I haven’t been watching other reviews tho where that might not be the case.

Off topic but I have been watching you guys for a while now and love your videos! I would appreciate if you guys reacted and spread awareness on the movie “Sound of Freedom.” It is based on a true story about the reality of child trafficking. I’ve watched it in theatres now 3 times and have been trying to spread the word as much as I can. This movie needs all the support it can get. I would really appreciate you guys if you could help out 🩷

You have never heard of it because the big media industries have been preventing any type of promotion for this movie. I myself only discovered it through tik tok. A lot of foul play is involved but the power is in the people! Also, my only word of advice( for Natalie especially lol) is to bring a box of tissues!
