Just as with my Z Fold 4 content, I'm getting a lot of questions about why I disable the UDC. Short answer is I have sensory processing disorder and the UDC has a shimmering effect that gives me a headache if I don't disable it. I hope that explains it!

I think that the UDC IS HIDEOUS AND EMBARRASSING.
ZTE UDC is incredible... Photo/video is trash but you can't see the camera at all. Samsung needs to do better

Yep the Flip 6 disappointed me. Getting the yellow because it's the only color that pops. It will be the first time I slap a dbrand skin on the back.

@@sparky6757 it would've been but there was a problem with the payment (insert Kevin Hart's "my checking is in my savings and my savings wasn't in my checking..." Joke.) so it processed this morning and I got the alert that it's in transit. I can hold out until then but I got to use a test unit at best buy and I'm excited for the chapter in foldables.

Just got my z fold 6, and I tell you, comparing it to fold 5, it's way awesome. I think this design is a step in the right direction. Also, the inner screen feels more sturdy. The fold 5 inner screen felt like it was very flimsy. They did well with the overall feel of the inner screen. The front screen, definitely looks refreshing. I'm not sure of all the folks who say this wasn't a significant update. Bro, this is definitely a design upgrade. If you're on the older gen models of the fold, fold 6 is the fold you were looking for. I don't think I'll be switching it out any time soon. I got the right color as well. Navy blue is fantastic.

I have a Fold 4 too. I was tempted by the Fold 6, but T-Mobile only offers a $500 trade-in and I'd either have to add a line or change my plan to get any more money off the Fold 6. Guess I'll wait for the Fold 7.
I have a Fold 4 also.. T-Mobile don't have good deals & don't offer much.. So I went straight to the Samsung site and traded for the blue Fold 6 there 🤷🏾♂️

just got mine and i love it the weight is good the outer screen is more useable and i barely feel the crease and the squared off edges is nice to hold and the carbon looks so nice and is grippy

Picked up the pink ZF6 today. it's not even super pink - kind of a powdery rose gold type pink. Nice color and I'm already seeing better battery than my Z Fold 4. LOL

@MrEmueyes I haven't had it for 3 years. Also, for me it is impressive for the battery to be so good on day one even while setting up. Nothing to be snarcky about - just sharing my experience.

@@salujasunny it's more of a rose gold type pink to my eyes on the edges, and the back is matte powdery. Really just has a nice premium look to it.

Thank you for putting the fold 4 on and beside the Fold 6 on. I've seen dozens of vids and they all show size comparisons to pixel fold and/or others. I thought you were gonna do the same thing, but redeemed yourself later in the vid 😂. I think I've changed my mind. The front screen looks more usable with the slight changes. I also hold my fold 4 horizontal or on its side when open so I get the best speaker sound and widest visuals and feels more like a tablet that way, all apps flip and fill up the screen as well.
After almost two years on the Surface Duo 2 (which I will keep as my back up device) I've upgraded to the Fold 5.
I love the device, absolutely love it. But it's a complely different beast, the Duo 2 absolutely has its strengths over a Samsung Fold. As has the Fold over the duo.
I really wished Microsoft would refine the Duo form factor further. As it really is a magnificent experience on it's own.
1:50 my Fold 5 looked like the Fold 6 when it was new, too. A year later it's not as bad as my 4 was, but it definitely doesn't look as smooth as it did out of the box. Time will tell if the 6 follows suit (as every other foldable eventually does).
4:50 side-mounted is great, but the move to ultrasonic on the 5 and 6 was a huge downgrade. It results in so many false touches and it can't handle geatures like the 4 could.

I've gone through 2 hinges so far on the Fold 4, it got bad, would only open about 60 degrees. This third one that glue strip with the hinge brushes actually lost adhesion and completely came out, still folds mostly flat (like 175 degrees). Pretty sure in all cases those brushes are coming off and jamming the hinges.
Was waiting for the fold 6 hoping it would be better, but the one year older OP open just does it better (again) so I bought that instead
Love the 6 fold got my carbon fiber- esque black yesterday ...so far im in absolute love this phone--after havin every iteration of the flips im glad i waited til the 6 to jump to the fold ( the one plus open was a 5 month nightmare never again lol )

My fold 6/buds 3 pro/watch 7/S Pen case arrived about 3 hours ago, and I am loving them so far.
The speaker setup seems to me to be optimized if you're watching videos in landscape mode. If you hold the camera side of the phone then you won't cover any speaker with your hands. At least, that's what I assume Samsung was thinking. It's definitely a little odd when watching videos in portrait orientation, but I tend to watch more widescreen content so this doesn't bother me.
One thing I've noticed is that many seem to compare the z fold and pixel fold unfolded in their default orientations, but their aspect ratios are different - z fold unfolds to portrait, pixel fold to landscape. So I think when comparing their screen sizes it's more useful to rotate either one so the aspect ratio is more clearly comparable.
Why optimize for one orientation when you can optimize for any?
You're not wrong, that would be better, but everything is a compromise and that would take more space.
Congrats Shane.... It's tempting, but the Pixel 9 Pro Fold may just be the holy grail. If the 9 Pro Fold has just a giant crack in it's armor and falls flat on it's face, I'll grab a One Plus Open used from Swappa for cheap

Checked it out today at Best Buy. And love the upgrade. Didn’t have an issue writing across the crease. And the texting on outer display has improved for my liking. Still feel like they can widen it a tad to match the flip dimensions. But it’s pretty close to the flip. Still waiting for my fold 6

I got to mess with one and I really like it but my fold 4 runs perfectly and I don't think I'd use the 6 much differently so I think I'll stick with the 4. But congrats to all of you who got the 6. Looks awesome!
It is essential to compare how video looks in the most widely used formats on the main screen, 16:9, 21:10, etc., both in horizontal and vertical orientations.

Didn't get home this year didn't see enough improvement to justify it. Got the watch ultra and 3 pro using your links though.
Just to clarify the app drawer situation! There was a option in the Home up module of Good lock to change it to vertical scroll. But that option was removed with what I think was the December update, I can't remember exactly, but it's been at least 6 months. But the rumor is that Samsung is going to make vertical scroll standard with OneUI 7 and that's why they removed it from Good lock. Not sure how that makes sense but that is what I hear.
I dont think its worth the upgrade from a fold 4 or 5. Unless you want the new square design. I have the fold 5 and i went to check the fold 6 at bestbuy and decided not to upgrade. The outer screen is not that much bigger at all.
But the Z Fold 6 has more than a few other upgrades over the Z Fold 5 that kinda go unnoticed: Its 14g lighter, the display crease is much less deep, larger vapor chamber for better device cooling, better gaming optimization, more durable folding display glass, newly reinforced folding hinge for better durability, more streamlined hinge cover that sits more flush with the front and back panels when phone is closed, etc.

I'd love a case for my s24u in that light pink! Also feel spoiled by the anti-glare on s24u. Surprised they didn't use it on the outside of the fold and flip at their prices.

I got the carbon one. Did you notice that the screen is not as bright as the Z Fold 5. It seams much lower on the outer and inner screen.
as a 2,3,4, oneplus open owner and tried fold 6 at shop, if fold 7 have one plus size and thicknesses, will definitely switch back to fold. nice video though.

Super disappointed that they got rid of the swipe gestures from the ZF4 I'm upgrading from but I do enjoy the upgrade overall. Weight and dimensions are definitely improved imo.
Liked my fold 3 but the inner screen protector started lifting 6 months in! So frustrating!

Went to Verizon today to see if I can trade in my Fold 5 I just got less than a month ago for the 6 but they wouldn't allow me since the phone isn't out yet and my traded in promotional device they didn't know if it could switch over to the new Fold. Still really hoping to get the 6 but gonna have to wait until the 6 releases and hope to get out of work early or something.
Once the app drawer good lock feature get updated I can switch back from using the nova launcher. Samsung has done a good deal in customization so that you really don't need to use a launcher minus a few features

Looks like the leaked Pixel Fold 2 (proper name) has the same speaker orientation as the Pixel Fold 1, so that will be a nice distinction.

Not understanding the app drawer comment. On any recent Samsung phone I've had (S22 Ultra currently), I swipe up to get to the app drawer, then side to side to scroll through them.
That's how samsung phones work, I just hate it lol

the reason why the speakers are on one side is just cuz in landscape mode it sounds better aka whenever ur watching youtube netflix any kind of long content. ( i mean they should just make it 4 speakers imo)
