Likely a NASCAR fan that’s mad SHR is shutting down. It’s a smart business decision by both Smoke and Gene. Many of the NASCR team owners have said it’s been years since they turned a profit.
I think it stinks that Gene Hass and Tony have made that decision but I have to respect their decision. That said I can also understand their decision because the direction that NASCAR has been going with the sport is quite honestly not sustainable. Think about it Jeff Gordon has said HMS has not turned a profit in years and I am sure some other teams are either losing money or just breaking even and this is totally NASCAR’s fault because of the rules packages and the fact that NASCAR (The France family) wants to keep almost all the tv money as opposed to spreading the wealth around some like the NFL, NBA, MLB, and Hockey. In short if NASCAR doesn’t change its ways other teams are going to fold and continue to do so until NASCAR changed its ways

Tony is racing in the NHRA full time. He drove an A/Fuel car last season, finishing second in the World Championship to Julie Nataas. About mid-season last year, his wife, Leah who also finished second in the World, in Top Fuel last year, decided she wanted to start a family. They announced it in December. So... Tony is now driving Leah's car, temporarily, until they have a baby.
He's all but ignored everything BUT the NHRA teams lately, is selling off his NASCAR team, sold the All Star Series, why wouldn't people think hed sell Eldora??
Because neither of those had to do with each other. He sold his Nascar team because he is sick and tired of Nascar and finally had it. He sold the All-Stars because he wanted to see them go further than he could take them. Not sure why people jumped to conclusions... except y'all just like to live in a made-up world. Made-up worlds suck.. come back to reality.
It is wild to think not long ago he had SRX, NASCAR trucks held races at Eldora, he had videogames named after him, he owned a Cup team. He was arguably the most relevant former NASCAR driver in recent years. Now it's all gone.
@@JBAlternate Nascar cancelled the trucks at Eldora, not Tony. That is 1 of many reasons to get away from Nascar all together. The SRX turned in to a cluster.. not only on the track but off (Anything that involves Ray usually does). When you take 1 by 1, it's not really wild at all. He is retired so I don't see why a game would want him involved when they could have a current driver involved.

To me, it's just more fascinating than anything that it seemed like he was everywhere for a while and within just a year or two much of it is gone. I am bummed that NASCAR doesn't run Eldora. That was a fun time with the Trucks. I'm not so bummed that his Cup team is selling. He wasn't very involved anyway.
