    • @CBSuper
      @CBSuper  Před 4 lety

      Saad Shah I believe 90% of all my crashes come from DR running out of RAM. The 3d stuff chews through it pretty quickly. I run Blender, Maya and Nuke pretty smoothly. I have had several crashes on Zbrush though, so could be a similar issue.

    • @CBSuper
      @CBSuper  Před rokem +1

      I prefer to use Blender for anything 3d related. I have a different video on using Blender, but this was just using DaVinci for 3d. DaVinci is pretty blah for 3d work. Its ok for composite work (fusion page works similar to Nuke) but actually creating objects in resolve is tough. This video exists because somebody asked me how to do it in Resolve (otherwise this would definitely not be my software of choice). Is it possible, yes, but much better off using an actual 3d program for creating and animating the scene. Then bring it into resolve to either work the composite or integrate it into your video.

    If you have poor performance in fusion 3D it's probably because you render on the CPU. To render on the GPU instead, click on your Renderer3D node -> under "Reporting", Render Type -> select other option than "Software Renderer" like in my case "OpenGL Renderer".

    • @CBSuper
      @CBSuper  Před 4 lety +1

      Congratulations Kevin, you've found my least favorite thing about Fusion! I'll try to get around to making a video doing just this since the workaround is kinda annoying. Essentially, you'll need to save out a .SVG file and import that into the Fusion tab. Need to go up to Fusion, Import, then select either Shapes or SVG. It will bring it in as vector polygons attached to a background. Now to animate it in 3d (2.5 really since there will be no extrusion), you can use the DVE or Transform node.

      Kevin, made this video to show how to bring import and animate .SVG vector graphics. Enjoy! czcams.com/video/p4xfM7HvHxM/video.html Also, as of now, Fusion doesn't have a 3d generator like Element 3d (unless you use the Studio version and Krokodov toolset), but there some very difficult workarounds. I'm still working on doing a 3d integration with Blender and Fusion, but that is a few weeks out.

    The fact that you can't use your own hotkeys to pan, zoom and rotate in 3D is a big problem because having to do two mouse buttons simultaneously to rotate is super clunky and annoying and RSI inducing ... but help is at hand, get yourself a little programmable X-Keys keyboard from P.I. Engineering and you can program one key to do both middle & right mouse click, so you can navigate around with the same way as you do in Blender, 3D max or whatever your favorite 3D program is. You're welcome!

    • @CBSuper
      @CBSuper  Před 3 lety

      No easy ways ofcourse. If you are on Studio, you can try Krokodov tools. If on free, you can try creating a text font from your logo shape file. Easiest way is to simply use Blender to build your logo in 3d, then bring it into DaVinci.

    • @god-lightbulb
      @god-lightbulb Před 3 lety

      @@CBSuper In a similar vein, is it possible, in the 3D workspace, to create shapes that have thickness? For example, if we would use an ellipse mask to create a circle or ellipse in 2D, is it possible to create that in 3D space where the circle or ellipse has thickness? @neilbtw's question was about importing a logo and giving it thickness, and you said that was not possible. But I wonder, if something is built in Fusion (rather than imported) how would we build 3D shapes that have thickness?
