- BLEACH Thousand Year Blood War (TYBW) Cour 3 releases in 2024, but fans have started to see some glaring issues in Cour 2 of BLEACH TYBW. From rushed production schedules to a noticeable dip in animation quality, fans have been vocal about their disappointments. People are unfortunately mixing genuine criticism with the idiots sending death threats. Yeah its good but I can't say I'm too much more excited for the next cours aside from the original content being added. I have no hope for the sakuga or the previous level of action being presented from Pierrot years ago and fans have a right to give their opinion on it than blindly being a yesman for a cringe fandom

Same I think people also forget this was not even supposed to be an anime. Full bring was the end and then we were graced with the actual end. Let’s enjoy the fact that we even get to see it in the first place.

like he said in the beginning with fans wanting quality over quantity, part 2 wasn’t bad but it did have some weaknesses and differences from the first part which makes people hope they can bring their 100% next time!

For clarification on the source of this controversy- A Group of leakers that constantly leaks images for every upcoming TYBW Ep, even the full Ep a whole day prior to it officially airing began harassing animators & staff members of the series due to only being interested in Bleach for it’s Fanservice material that was removed from EP 22 regarding Orhime’s outfit, including fans of other series comparing TYBW’s animation to their favorites such as JJK & OP. It was NEVER actual Bleach fans as no fans would stoop that low to harass animators let alone their author.
Actual Bleach fans have been nothing but hype and happy throughout this whole arc, to the point where we’re setting fans of other popular series expectations up that they get upset enough to b*tch and complain that it didn’t meet their expectations compared to their favorites and most likely never will since they have their biases, not to mention it’s been critically acclaimed, and given the best anime adaptation as of last year, we’re just happy to have Bleach back and been enjoying it through and through. 💯

The actual BS are those that are disappointed with this best possible adaptation of an OG arc. So unfortunately for you yes that does make you less of a fan, especially if it’s in regards to superficial things like animation or pacing as if those are the most important things.
The animators have been doing their all to give us the best they possibly can so we should be appreciating it more than anything, especially for how long we waited through all the slander.

Almost all of the fighting scenes have these white background with no details at all. Kubo always put an emphasis on characters, that's his shtick. Wat.

I am so grateful for TYBW and the animators and staff handling it. They’re capturing the essence of Bleach’s manga and the additional scenes are appreciated. The animation is also spectacular as far as I go. Could be better in like 2 maybe 3 episodes at best imo. And the pacing can be dialed a bit back too. Otherwise, no complaints from me. And those are just minor ones from me. TYBW is on its way to becoming one of my favorite anime adaptations ever if it isn’t already for me 🔥
It's not our community, I checked out Twitter the majority of the haters has a Luffy or some other anime pfp whilr having little to no Bleach tweets or reposts.

Vocal minority of those that are just bigger fans of other series and only care about animation.
Time's a flat circle, as soon as Cour 3 drops the loudest voices will fall in line. It still sucks that we're so plagued with absolute fools and losers with nothing better to do than abuse animators and artists who are already doing thankless and exhausting work as it is.
That being said, the TYBW anime has done a lot good for me to make peace with the less than stellar moments.

No. It's a memorable adaptation and a perfect pick up from the old series. The dark, moody atmosphere and gruesome horrors of war also sets it apart while still giving us our favorites in battle. And the flashbacks with Yhwach and Ichibei alongside the war with old Gotei were jarring.
It was a wonder that cour 2 looked so great considering studio pierrot was also working on a movie. Shout out to everyone who watched Black Clover sword of the wizard king

People need to realize that art and animation takes time. TYBW looks beautiful plus the new scenes explaining things kubo couldn't during the Manga adds alot.

Well expecting something is not wrong everyone had expectations but for now I guess until we get some info abt staff of cour 3 we need to be patient and keep expectations low
How about this, either take more time or hire enough action animators to help with the deadlines. Pierrot has terrible staff management and it’s ruining most of the fights.
I think that if I want to consider the TYBW anime a "bad anime" then I would have to consider other famous anime like Toei's OP, DBS, DBZ, Both Naruto main series, and even the first Bleach a bad anime, it's just stupid.
I have seen youtubers that hated the TYBW in the manga (To the point of consider it one of the worst arcs in shonen) praise this adaptation as one of the best.

I also loved it but the CGI did look a little weird imo. But honestly I still loved it. Especially when dangai joe was running and jumping, it looked very scary seeing such a huge behemoth of a bankai running with a giant sword.
why does every single fanbase have those handful of people to make everyone look bad if bleach fans should be mad at anyone we should be mad at the original decision for the company to cut the timeframe for bleach causing kubo to have to rush a bare bones ending instead of what we and kubo himself deserved. the fact we ever got this is a miracle in itself please from another bleach fan if you dont like it shut the hell up and let the rest of us enjoy it.

Keep in mind TYBW chapters aren't that long compared to the stuff Kubo did in the past due to the health problem, so it makes sense why cour 2 is adapting more chapters since a lot of it are illustrations panels with not much dialogue. Which is why they need to cram it and get over with the stacked fights which they dedicated almost full episodes to each fight, if they had "expanded" on it they could have crashed in to a paccing issue and barely made any story progressing at all. Its mostly just a compensation to give more creative freedom for cour 3 - 4. Cour 2 is supposed to be watched with cour 3 in mind as its a "to be continue" moment rather than an season finale. Lets just fingers crossed the blu ray cour 2 will fix more stuff and perhaps add extra content/length given its postponed.

Never would I say it's bad. A bit lackluster of times as I wish more stuff is expanded on like fights with more choreography but it's been nice. The damn anime looks gorgeous, leave the damn animators alone. Let your lack of view ship or critique be enough. Not death threats.
This has got to stop. Do not send death threats to the animators their doing their best with what they got. Threatening the people who make a living animating shows is disgusting and it makes it harder for anything to get done. TV shows don't happen overnight unless you're South Park. You have to have writers create several scrips and drafts and have to be checked by Kubo and the director than it gets storyboarded and try to make it work for the animators who take long hours to make the characters move in between storyboard art then add music to the appropriate scenes so the tone does not mismatch with what is going on and add casting, voice directing, marking the actors match the lip flaps and also take multiple takes incase of mistakes or needing a different take, not to mention catering for the studio advertisement of the show which includes commercials, posters, billboards, interviews with the cast. Also have it all done before air date which for a short amount of time is difficult for any show

Man I am just happy to watch TYBW arc. I don't care for anything else, I just feel privileged to be able to watch it. Now I want the animators to take as much time as they could in order to properly work on Cour 3 without feeling pressured.

I was disappointed they rushed squad 1's lieutenant funeral and they skipped the momment unohana dies and the impact it has on kenpachi. It's been a while since I read the manga but I remember how impactful those deaths were to the story
Sojiro’s funeral was just lame exposition. The anime made it way better with the silence + they followed it up by giving him an actual backstory with yamamoto. If you want mindless exposition go watch naruto

It showed the respect sojiro had for Yamamoto and why he never became a captain even though he was qualified. And showed just how much Yamamoto was affected that they murdered him. Which is ultimately why Yamamoto was defeated. Had Yamamoto not been so emotional, he would have noticed that his old foe was significantly weaker than before and that he couldn't be the real ywatch. The manga did a way better job than the anime did. The anime was basically "how sad sojiro died, the old man is more sad, end of funeral" anime is rushing through too much

Bleach TYBW isn't a bad Anime, it's surprisilly good, but I understand why some fans are angry for Bleach animators. Between of an old Bleach Anime and a new TYBW animation style have been changed really much of what it was before TYBW, I like that change and i'm fine with it. I'm 1% of fans who's not angry for Bleach animators, i'm so proud of them and I'll give a big respect for their a long and hard work making Bleach TYBW since Bleach's "ending". Good work Bleach animators, keep going and do more these beautiful TYBW animation styles. Defienitily I love a new opening and ending songs and fighting animations in TYBW. I think it was extremely underwhelming , mainly due to the extremely inconsistent animation & them cutting certain things. Also, the still frames were so apparent that it made me want to just stop watching, we were promised better animation yet we got even worse animation in cour 2. The story additions that weren’t in the manga made up for some bad episodes imo, it’s so obvious that six months wasn’t going to be enough time for them to get the quality that they wanted & there’s the problem with the director Taguchi who worked on other projects , he barely directed any of the episodes in the tybw
I do have to agree on the sky. Didn't like it when it was previewed and damn sure hated it on air. Just drowned everything out. Now the soul palace parts..... Those were breathtaking

My only problems are the fights fluidity, lack of smearing and the stills. I didn’t mind the cgi apart from shinjis bankai.
True cour 1 was greatly animated
Most of the fights are very well animated, almost perfect.... It is understandable that the fights do not have as much choreography because in the manga itself they are like that (this is not Naruto)
And the still images don't make sense, if a character is only talking it is logical that he would be still 🤷🏻♂
We need more fluidity and choreography like naruto adding To the manga fight in the anime

I have no problem with any fan who decides to message an anime director about their displeasure in the overall product being consumed. One thing we all have to understand is that we are ALL fans! The ones who like the subject matter at hand and those who dislike the subject matter. Everyone has a voice, not just those who like what they’re getting. These studios and companies expect us to support them by watching and buying their merchandise. It’s the fans who keep them afloat. As long as they are spending money they’re supporting this product/IP.
If someone decides to criticize about the lack of quality then they are well within their right. I’m indifferent and don’t care if someone does or doesn’t but I have respect for both sides of this coin. If you dislike it then voice it, make sure it gets to somebody who might lend an ear and bring about the change you desire. Don’t let those who are satisfied with it be the only ones allowed to speak. That’s Ludacris.

I admit as Bleach fan TYBW not very satisfying to watch because story was adjusted to be enough for 13 episode perseason.
making it harder for us to get to knew every character throughout story when they already die as soon as we learn about them. The battle also doesn't gave clear impact to the story and character. Like how I don't feel anything when seeing Hitsugaya die and became zombie and how it supposed to affect other character.
Tbf, people complain about JJK s2, I am not personaly attached to it, but I respect the quality. Even if Bleach was better people would still complain

Kubo literally plugged his ears from criticism and no one had the decency to help save the series from its own garbage writing. I will say this, being so true to kubo original work does hurt a bit because tybw is very lore and story based with a few pop action moments here and there. This isn’t enough anime exclusive or extended fights with crazy animation like Yamamoto vs Llyod. There hasn’t been a grimmjow vs ichigo, ulq vs ichigo, findor vs hisagi, etc in cour 2. Kenny and ichigo fights is all we got

Tybw literally has tons of fights only ep6 and 7 were great the other one probably had one good cut and the rest was rushed and underwhelming cour 2 was literally nonstop fights with no high animation peaks

This is a shounen anime. Yes Kubo has written an extremely story rich world with a lot of depth, but there really needs to be more balance. Shounen is a genre steeped in action and the action just hasn't been there. The show is far to focused on the "philisophical depth" of the story, which for people who don't really dig into the meaning of Kubo's metaphors is probably very boring. The show needs action cuts and fights that can compete with Demon Slayer, War arc Naruto, AoT, etc. It's not even that the quality of the animation is poor. It's moreso that the fights are short and filled with more conversation than clashing.
Aka Record of Ragnarok tier of fight adaptation. I remember them not being able to properly animate a clash between two weapons, constantly zooming out for an explosion. The same way they constantly do it it in TYBW.

Honestly people need to realize that this is a gift there was a chance that people wouldn't get to see this at all in the first place and now they criticizing something that was ment to be a gift to us bleach fans in the first place instead of complaining about the lack in animation

Those aren’t real fans. The TYBW anime got blessed with Kubo helping, a good staff who care and want to see the show succeed, and 4 cours so the staff can have more time to give the fans better quality episodes. No show is perfect, however the highs far outweigh the lows of the TYBW anime. I’m grateful for all these things, but more importantly that Bleach is back after so many years.
So the real fans are just those airheaded clowns who're grateful no matter how mediocre the product is? Sounds like the main root of the problem.
Cour 2 is not really good compared to the 1st cour. They lost action director animator in the cour 2. Thats why the fight is not really good and dynamic.

They need to add impact frames in this anime, it alao adds weight and intensity during fights, also they should sacrifice some small details to have some fluidity in terms of fight choreography.

I didn’t really have any problems with the story or the way things were going in cour 2. I just had a problem with the animation, it’s just that the animation wasn’t near the quality of cour 1. Some major fights like kenpachi fight and ichibei fight could have been much better. The art style in cour 2 definitely was improved heavily.
You know what! The first time in a long time? I had to stop a video out of pure rage, like where do people get off insulting the quality of the animation? And the hard work of others. Animation is art and is very difficult to make. The quality of the animation was fine and I actually think it was fantastic the fact that bleach after 10 years is being animated and we’re finally getting animated storylines from 10 years ago, people are so ungrateful. You wanna sit here and complain about animation quality after a potential cancelled show that was never ever gonna be animated ever. Like are people really complaining about having a plain background and non-interesting environments like really it’s all part of the storyline for fuck sake. There are loads of other arcs with simple backgrounds.
I think people need to grow up and respect others hard work, being an animator is not easy and working on a huge project like bleach with overwhelming expectations. Must be very difficult to walk into that workplace every day and deliver your best. I think they did a great job and I think cour 1 and cour 2 are amazing and I look forward to seeing cour 3

I still remember when a video surfaces in yt officially that Bleavh TYBW is going to be adapted. If you remember that one with just manga panels and one of the bleach sound tracks in background. I was very blessed and then a trailer came out.
I was like yeah it's going to be a banger for me I truly liked the animation just from the trailer and even now after watching part 1&2 I have no problem with either of them. Just waiting for part 3😊😊😊❤❤
The Pacing of the show at times almost made it unwatchable. The animation was pretty good for the action shots, however the backgrounds were just lazy. Single color palates most the time, hueco mundo in the OG TV show had substantially more ambiance than any background in TYBW. On the pacing, It was like the could not decide on a sequence to show any given different characters story segment. Like scenes were switching back and forth with no connection what so ever. Even this seemed rushed like in the manga. Whats the point in settling for less if it ruins what made Bleach good.

I understand why some of the fans are angry because even i had some dissatisfaction in some parts of the new bleach seasons, especially when i had hopped more of certain characters. HOWEVER, One thing that is hard to let people see is the actual work conditions of many animators and studio members who are getting crushed by their supervisors and weight of expectations from the fans (which is understandable) but seriously, i never minded the wait between each cour because i both enjoyed them and wouldn't have minded to wait for like a year maximum if that means they'll be making good content and the workers will be having better conditions. It's sad to see that the people constantly getting bullied by those [insert insult] on twitter who most, i am guessing, are either ignorant or entitled and think that people working to make bleach are their sl*ves and will always meet their expectations.
TLDR: Cut the studio some slack, and hope the animators get more time and better working conditions then you'll see how ANY anime will be.

Sending death threats is unacceptable it should NEVER!.. go that far especially over something like this. I understand the frustration but let's just be happy that were actually getting this animated. My only frustration is the 13 episodes I want it all, but I know I'm gonna get that.
Pacing issues all come down to how many episodes they gave them just 2-3 more eps each cour would’ve been perfect
Overall, I much preferred Cour 1 > Cour 2. Granted, I think a lot of that has to do with me just preferring that portion of the TYBW arc over Cour 2’s portion of the story. Cour 2 felt a lot like the back to back onslaught of fighting that got monotonous after awhile, similar to the 4GNW in Naruto’s anime. While it is a war arc anime and that is to be expected, something about the pacing felt off and certain moments that were hype in the manga *(Kenpachi vs Gremmy)* felt somewhat underwhelming in the anime. Really looking forward to Cour 3 and I hope it capitalizes upon the best of Cour 1&2.
The thing is with this amount of non stop action the bigger moments get mellowed out by all the things happening at once.. So many new bankais yet there was never any buildup behind it. Well aside from kenpachi and maybe Sajin.

You should be a little care about using the term “fans”. We saw on social media that fans of the other big 3 anime were upset at how bleach was being received, that they planned to attack the people working on the show while pretending to be bleach fans. These same people for the years that bleach was absent, would talk new anime fans out of trying out bleach. I once watched a reactor who said people would tell him not to check out bleach when he 1st got into anime, and that was years before he started CZcams.

How about this. If you got a problem with it don’t watch it. Is it perfect? No. Should we expect them to make it perfect? No. Is it still good overall? Yes and that’s all that matters
I think cour 2 was great and full with cool fights and solid animation i just think some moments could’ve been better and have more oomph and impact like you said i love kenpachi vs gremmy animation wise and how it felt as soon as kenpachi steps foot onto the battlefield it gets insane fast but it wouldve been cool if instead of dragging out giselle vs mayuri over 2 eps crunch that down and give us more of gremmy and i like most of the sternritters but certain characters like gremmy and As Nodt and liltotto and bazz b feel like their just not doing anything until they die and idk its nice seeing zero divison cook and was definitely needed and was cold af but something was missing this season wasnt any amazing fights that really lasted outside of their episode except yhwach vs ichibe i did like rukia bankai and her vs As and shinji bankai plus renjis but when u realize certain things had to be given up to get some of these fights its like well idk i kinda prefer if you kept that in like renji catching his punch when i seen you talk about that i was like that shot would’ve been cold and cool as hell to have renji flex on mask and everyone for calling him a fraud😂 but i think it was a solid 8/10 season just some people hated certain aspects so they complain and make it seem as if the cour was horrible but realistically it was actually good and rewatching it i realize how many moments i genuinely thought was amazing and dont get me wrong im a semi anime only i know certain events are gonna happen but to me the way the anime gets there is fire ik the zero division had this bad name to them but when i seen senjumaru die I thought welp same situation just for them to flip it on its head was amazing and good but im done i typed to much point is i think people are just hating cause people love negativity nowadays but yea stay happy

I had no idea what the people been saying because I only see positivity of the anime so far. Only people I see crying are mostly One Piece fans who like to troll everyone. But I myself loved the animations and everything. I did not like the Kenpachi vs Grammy fight and the backgrounds I do believe should have more color pallet as the red sky is getting boring but the fight scenes and the animation was great. Loved the exclusive scenes. Only other criticism I have is the cut content that should not be cut. But that could be me being a desperate guy who wants more and more Bleach

I was so sad when the TWBW arc wasn’t animated in 2012 so when I saw that it came back after 10 years I was very grateful to be able to be able to watch it, however I do think the same feeling with OG Bleach isn’t there this time around. Nonetheless I’m just happy Bleach is back for a time.
It needs 1 year for producting good 1 cour animation not just 6 months
I hate to say this, but I knew the pacing issues were coming when they said it's only going to be 4 cours. It needed 5. Ichigo vs the Bambi girls, Kenpachi vs Unohana & Gremmy, Ywach vs Ichibe, and more fights NEEDED to be AT LEAST an episode in length. Who cares about the red sky and the blue city. It doesn't look that bad. Give me fiiiights.
It's official people take how good they have it now for granted. Anime animation & production is at a quality that is huge rarity when compared back in the day when some of these were just starting their original anime adaptions. Yes there are some instances where they truly have fumbled in current era, but the it is not as consistent as you think. There are whole series that would beg for such love or attention and bring their series back from obscurity into relevance like Bleach TYBW Arc anime did for the Bleach franchise.
It's actually a fairly common criticism from the Bleach fans that aren't baised. The animation, CGI, cut content, rushed finally and choreography are some of the issues that plague the anime.
People say "it's staying to source material" but the final Bleach arc was pretty frail when it comes to plot exposition, world building or character development.

the animation is great n best . but the pace was killing me bad . I'd rather watch bount arc again . old bleach worked cuz of the slower pace n music n calmness (Fillers) n best long fights .
Cor 2 was good. I'm happy that the manga is getting adapted. Before only a small CZcamsr(I think it was retro rhino) was gonna animate some fight scenes.

It was just too fast paced. The amount of time between scenes is too short, leading to less information being able to be processed and less tension existing. We didn't get to see the villains more than once before they revealed their ultimate trump cards.
The visual fidelity is great, soundtrack is great, the ideas for the story is great, but the general execution is lacking because its pacing is breakneck.
