The thing about these saiyans is that the longer the fights go, they adapt more and more. Getting stronger bit by bit. Remember when Goku fought Beerus after getting his god form? At the end of their fight Goku actually went back to base form but still was strong as if he still had the form. It's just how they work.

18 really impressed me in the tournament, the fact that she got eliminated saving 17 instead of losing makes it way better
21:00 I BELIEVE, all the fights he's been through since their first battle allowed him to grow, not to mention he was given time to recover therefore giving him a bit of a zenkai boost (when you recover from near death/exhaustion)
Zenkai boosts aren't a thing anymore. This is just goku improving normally

@@doctor99267 it still happens, but it is miniscule. The only relevant Zenkai boost in dragon ball super is the one Goku Black recieved from fighting ssj2 Goku.

One thing you need to realize is that goku and vegeta get significantly stronger during this arc. Both vegeta and goku by this point are probably stronger than ui goku vs vs jeren in ep 110.

There were different animators during dbs, because the good ones are mostly busy. Theirs an animator named yuya who mostly worked on these episodes. 👏
Remember Goku gets stronger as he fights. This was shown directly in Kale and Caulifla vs Goku. The three of them were getting stronger, but Goku was able to deal with both of them with only SSJ2. By this point he's already fought Jiren twice.

The animation quality differences you're noticing are because the super team was working with limited staff because their best animators were splitting their time on this and making the broly movie.

The art style does change, you’re not wrong or tripping. They saved their money for end battles and hired good animators. So these last battles look fire 🔥

I love Agnilasa. The way Agnilasa looks and moves is very similar to the early to mid 90s DBZ movie / OVA villains. In another time maybe Agnilasa could have had his own movie.
They stepped up the animation for this episode and also the episode when Goku fought Kale and Caulifla.
There will be a few more episodes like that , it’s a shame the entire anime wasn’t animated that way.

21:00 GOku got stronger since ep 109, he is now much stronger in his SSB form than he was in ep 109. Ofc Jiren is still not serious fighting, but the scene shows Goku's power has grown tremendously

This was fire I remember when I watched it as a 13 year old in 2020 when I saw Jiren unscathed after that massive final flash I was like WHAT THE HELL
Since the animation schedule allowed more time to be spent on the later episodes of Super the animators made it so the important fights and important scenes use 3 colour shading instead of the regular 2. Usually characters have a base tone then 1 level of shadow but for episodes like this they bump it up to 1 base tone and 2 to sometimes 3 levels of shadow which is why you get the darker and more dynamic look.

That was an animation error, Super Saiyan Blue 2 doesn't quite exist (but maybe it will). So far the highest level of blue we've seen is the Evolved form.
