The Crossrail platforms at Liverpool street are long enough that they span the gap between Moorgate and Liverpool Street, so it has connecting passages to both stations
@@Pit-jt3lw Three main things which caused delays, the signalling integration, the train software and the tunnelling for the tracks where historic artefacts where uncovered and as such tunnelling/progress had to stop until the artefacts where removed. Those are the three main reasons without going into detail.

Not if you catch a train going in that direction. When the line is fully open some of the trains will go to Shenfield and others towards Woolwich. The initial opening it will only be the Abbey Wood branch running underground, the Shenfield trains will still run on the surface from and into the Liverpool Street mainline station, as they do now.

I'm confused - is Crossrail going through Liverpool St or Moorgate, or just an entrance at Moorgate?

When is it going to start opening the Crossrail in Liverpool Street ?
No confirmed date yet. Hopefully February 2021
They have said its on track to open febuary 2022
