I'm guessing you're talking about the blood dripping and puddling onto the floor? Yeah, definitely for the movie's sake. They could have filmed her getting up or standing at the board or something. It's possible to have blood soak through and drip, but that was way too much for like a few minutes of being on her period. But if there are any heavy bleeders who can attest to that, let me know.

Even heavy bleeders don’t bleed like that. You’re right, they could’ve filmed a scene where she got up from her seat to solve a problem on her board and have her classmates see a period stain. It could’ve been executed wayyy better there.

@@isopodlovingisopod3837The actress who plays Nancy was well aware of wicca as she practiced it so she was their consultant. She actually volunteered so they wouldn't misrepresent the wicca community. She made them redo some props to actually get a lot of things in the shop correct.
She also gave them a lot of Spells and corrected their pronunciation for certain words as well as goddesses and gods. She also educated them And the divine domains in powers of the gods of wicca.
They had a whole list of rules they had to follow as to not disrespect nor anger the gods that she believe in and She warned them against using certain spells.
The summoning ritual they did when the girls got their powers was apparently a real summoning ritual and the name of the god was apparently his actual name and how you pronounce it.
The actress believed that even though she was only one on set that was practicing the reason storms kept appearing even though the sky would be clear when they started the scene was because they were actually summoned in him.

Pretty much! And the difference between the sequels that work vs bomb is how much they pay attention to a character’s evolution. Most of the time sequels don’t work because not only do they not pay attention to the OG appeal and write a good story, but also they make characters do OoC actions for their evolved selves. That’s why Toy Story and Terminator 2 worked so well vs most others tend to bomb. They could also make it episodic and independent rather than a direct tie.
Tl;dr - I agree and most of the time sequels bomb because of laziness/executive meddling.

I do appreciate how the first one deals with a number of things, like how power can so easily corrupt and make friends turn on each other. This Reboot/sequel seems like yet another mid 2010’s movie attempt to show that “men bad”, and “girl power”. It’s no surprise that when these elements are the focus of your movie as opposed to actual character building you end up alienating at least half of your audience. Women can be strong and great without needing to make the bad guy a dude who’s a literal MRA. Fundamentally it makes here mother look like an absolute psycho for ever marrying a man with such insane beliefs about the world and reality. I made watching this movie an EVENT lol. I bought it for Halloween night, lights out.....so disappointing.
The sons had no dialouge really. It made no sense why they were moving into this house but the daughter has never met any of the boys.
The magic looked like Sabrina the Teenage Witch. No learning about or practicing their power, they could just do it. AND on top of that no time at all spent on any of the other witches backstories.
They spent all their time trying to build up for a 3rd movie they put zero thought into the movie they were making in that moment. Ugh hated...HATED the final fight scene. Awful. 😩

She always had a rough relationship with the school district but she had no right to stomp all over the other students who were literally always minding their business. For example, she made a huge fuss over being scolded for missing a school plays practice (even though she was the lead) and had a full meltdown that the drama teacher didn't pander to her attitude. She then tried to lie and say that he called her slurs even when other students reported otherwise so she eventually just dropped out of the school under the guise she was being treated unfairly (meaning they didnt kiss up to her bitchiness). Isn't Sarah supposed to be air and Nancy earth? Based on the animals they carry in the beach sequence, Nancy is carrying a snake and Sarah a bird, just like Rochelle carries a fish (water) and Bonnie a butterfly (fire, by discard).
Also, I always thought it was symbolic that the first time we see Sarah she came from the sky. And the part that Nancy ask for all the power of Manon she pointed the knife in the air "as above" and then stick it to the earth "so below". Meaning that she will absorb all the power of Sarah that is in fact the only one who has natural powers.

Honestly, if the endgame was to show that Lily is Nancy's daughter, then the reveal could have been built up better and perhaps should have had more focus. Granted, I haven't seen Legacy aside from this review, but it feels like a weak ploy to throw in at the end.
If the true focus was supposed to be the four girls coming of age and into their own powers, then just focus on that. Give them the great character development the OG had. It could have been better if the director and crew had a clearer focus of where they wanted to go.
Tldr: if this was meant to be a true sequel, then treat it as one instead of masking it til the end. If this was meant to be a coming of age tale of 4 witches finding their voices and powers, then focus on that. Don't mix the two and act like it was a tour de force of storytelling and twists when it wasn't.

Sarah is happy, and an advanced guide to the others. Bonnie and Rochelle remained good friends but didn't have any magic.

Also, changing the narrative from "attacking eachother" to "uplifting eachother" is missing the mark. It's because their intentions were never pure that the magic turned agains them, agains the coven they had created. Is not a "girl vs girl" thing, is about the consequences of your actions. If you wanted to make it about girls empowering eachother then do something else.
