PM Trudeau marks 10th anniversary of Tŝilhqot’in Decision - June 26, 2024

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attends community celebrations in Nemaiah Valley, B.C., marking the 10th anniversary of the Tŝilhqot’in Decision. Also in attendance are ministers Gary Anandasangaree (crown-Indigenous relations), Patty Hajdu (Indigenous services), and Arif Virani (justice). On June 26, 2014, the Supreme Court of Canada declared Aboriginal title in granting approximately 1,900 square kilometres of land in the province to the Tŝilhqot’in Nation.
The prime minister also takes part in a signing ceremony to mark the anniversary.
