- Ever wonder about the most effective -- and safest -- way to remove bugs on your paint, windshield, and bumper?
This video showcases a few ways to utilize Rinseless Wash, and it can be paired with either our Decontamination Towel or our Green Flagged Tip Brush (yep, the brush is safe on paint!).

As always, it's BEST to do this out of direct sunlight. But working in small sections, while outdoors, can be effective as well. What's your go-to method?

Not Bad!
The rinseless wash is so amazing my pressure washer is collecting cob webs! DIY products have made me a better detailer and Yvan and Nick are very knowledgeable.
Thank you Neil!!
You guys are just awesome
Dealing with the problems everyone has and solving them with ease!
Step by step
Keep it up!
Thanks so much!
I love the rinseless wash! It’s crazy how good it actually is. If you’ve never thought about trying it and your use to the standard wash like I was, please try it and you’ll see what all the hype is about! Nice work guys! #loveit
Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback
Great video!
Can't wait for you guys to open the UK shop so I can outsource your products from there and enjoy them!
Keep it up!
The products are on the way to Linntec and In 2 Detailing
Awesome video as usual guys.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video guys y’all make great content!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for explaining the safe way to remove these bug guts!!! I have forwarded this video to a bunch of my customers!!! Now it’s not a broken record just from me 😭🤣.
Thank you
Great channel guys! You two play off each other really well! I hope people in the U.K. are taking note as they are so stuck in their ways with auto shampoos.
Thank you
I was the same until the hosepipe ban this Summer forced me to try the rinseless method. Then the scales fell from my eyes when I found out just how easy and straightforward a rinseless wash is. Car washing used to be a chore, it has now become a therapeutic pleasure. The detailers here in the UK really should catch up!
First video what I have seen about Nick when Yvan washed his Subaru.
I did not recognized in this channel until now... Hawk pro Nick is the mustache guy 😄
❤️ONR ❤️
lol yes same nick, thanks for watching
I just gave my Tesla a wash using DIY Detail Rinseless wash today and it did a great job and wiped dry streak free. I tried it this time using warm tap water and it worked great and smelled great. Then I followed up on my door jambs using a premixed DIY Detail rinseless spray with distilled water. It’s quickly becoming my go-to.
Excellent, thanks
Loving your videos, every one is extremely helpful and informative, thank you for all you are doing. I just got my first of your products and am loving them (rinseless wash, iron remover, and ceramic gloss). Car is looking amazing 👍 I was wondering, if a vehicle is well maintained (garage kept, hand washed weekly, and seasonal decontamination) is there a difference in protection using the 3, 5, or 8 yr coating vs. just applying ceramic gloss every couple of months? If so, how is the ceramic coating different/more protective? What does it do exactly besides longer lasting? Thanks again!!
In the case of a well loved garage kept car, use the 5 year coating.
You guys are the best
Thanks
Thanks guys!
You bet!
Great video as always! Any interior videos coming soon?
Yes, a few in the hopper
I like drying with a folded towel, but I find a lot of drying towels out there are just too thick when folded to be easy to work with. Looks like that waffle towel is perfect for that, will pick one up when I order some all clean after I run out my other apc
Thank you!
With all my rinseless washes or even chemicals that I dilute, I use distilled water with everything. I’m yet to use your products as of yet but I’m getting around to it. @Laury’s Detailing Services, LLC. 👊🏾
You will love them! Thanks for the support here on the channel
This is VERY helpful Yvan and Nick, thank you! I have a 5 year coating and PPF on the whole front of my Black Ford F150 Super crew truck, so hoping all the guts did no damage as I have not been able to wash it for 4 weeks.
Just get to it as soon as you can:)
Do you have any techniques for stubborn clear coat scratches in smaller areas? Like example, the top of the fender where the fender and hood meet or around the top door frame? Etc.
The same as the rest of the vehicle, no special products or pads needed.
Is the “blue” clay towel you developed from rag company the same as the red one you are using in your videos? TIA! jyst placed an order yesterday for several of your products, so anxious to try them out..
Not quite, the DIY Detail towel is less aggressive.
Looking forward to see this👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you
Any bug specific products coming out this year - or still sticking with all-clean?
Would you say the bug specific products are less aggressive on paint coatings than all-clean, or the same?
Thanks for great products!
No need , DIY Detail All Clean does the job
The more I watch and learn, I am starting to realize that foaming soaps don't seem to be necessary at all. They might be fun, but in reality they don't seem efficient and don't have a place in an regular paint maintenance regimen. If the dirt level is:
Low: standard Rinseless Wash spray into contact wash
Medium: additional pre-spray of Rinseless Wash
High: additional pre-spray of All Clean
Am I missing something about the role/benefit of foaming soaps?
Perfect
I started doing rinseless washes this summer it's so easy and way cheaper
Nice!!
That wheel and tire brush looks like it has been used on tires… but I could be wrong.
I have been thinking of buying that brush for bugs on grill and surrounding area, but is it okay to still use on tires?
Or do you suggest tires and rims with a separate brush?
The brush is insanely versatile -- you might want to buy 2, one for paint and one for wheels.
cool grit guard can you share link again? Thanks!
Here you go

In this method shown, will the decontamination towel remove existing waxes/sealants?
not likely, it's a mix of being effective enough to remove contaminants and bug guts...and yet gentle on paint:) Use no pressure whatsoever, always, and proper lubrication
Will decontamination towel remove ceramic coating?
Nope!
I am learning more and more…
Does your synthetic perforated towel with rinseless wash - harm the paint surface. Like if you used it every time with bug guts?
Not when used as instructed.
Does foaming on the rinseless do a better job on breaking down the bugs or is it the same as spraying it on?
It’s basically the same, you get more dwell time with foam so in that sense it’s cleaning longer/better
If the bug guts are more stubborn than that, do you step up to some All Clean or another product in the DIY lineup?
All Clean at 15/1
Hi Yvan! Can any graphene ceramic spray be used on a wet car when using a decon towel or does the car have to be dry? Because the product I bought says it can only be applied on a dry car.
Every product is different, follow manufacturers instructions.
@@diydetailofficial Will do, thanks!
is this method will remove ceramic coating previously applied?
No
How long can you keep the rinse less wash solution mix in a spray bottle in your car? How about if your vehicle is parked in the sun all day at work will evaporating be an issue? If you use it on bug or bird poop do you need to flush the sprayer with water after using the mixed spray?
Many months
After using both the clay towel and the green brush on the front grill and bumper Would I have to polish the paint ?? Do they scratch the car ???
They don’t scratch when using proper lubrication
@@diydetailofficial Thank You
Really wish they made the multi pro 2 with the schrader valve like the foam pro 2+
It’s a simple modification
@@diydetailofficialI don’t trust myself enough for that 😂
You just need some drill bits and a Schroeder valve it's so easy.
It would be nice if you made the synthetic clay side of your decontamination towel a different or lighter color than black. For example The Rag Company use a light blue color on theirs which allows the user to more easily see the dirt & contaminants being pulled off.
Not a bad idea at all thank you!
DIY Detail color scheme is red and black, so maybe switch the red and black parts of the psd towel?
@@dastrangle yup exactly what I’m thinking. It’d be far more useful that way around.
@@diydetailofficial @statusquoreject actually now that I think about it.. It would make alot of sense having red as the active decontamination side because the Legacy Sponge red side is also a harder foam. It would be consistent that the side you use to remove stubborn contaminants is the same color across cleaning media, with the added benefit that you can see what you're removing as it would be red instead of black.
@@dastranglethey have said in previous videos that both sides of the sponge are the same.
Have a new car, just 8 year coated it. Live in Florida. Bugs are daily, especially love bug season. What do you recommend for 1-2 min cleaning between washes? What product/procedure?
DIY Detail Rinseless Wash or DIY Detail Waterless Wash
Thank you for the reply. What procedure would you suggest with rinceless? Emphasis on shortest time possible.
Spray on DIY Detail Rinseless Wash, allow to dwell, wash with Legacy Sponge, dry.
Ok thanks. So standard rinceless wash. Was thinking there might be an option without having to have a wash bucket to soak the sponge.
When is the towel coming back in stock?
In a few weeks
Where do I get that clear wash bucket and grit guard! :)
The bucket is from a restaurant supply store. The other is detail guardz I believe
So how does this clay towel differ from the clay tile that I have that looks just like it except it’s a different color and it’s from the rag company?
Thicker towel, milder decontamination surface.
Good to know. My clay towel is past due for retirement so. I’ll give this one a shot.
Is synthetic clay just as efffective at removing bug guts as using a Bug or All Purpose Cleaner removal spray?
when you combine our decontamination towel with Rinseless Wash, it's such a great convo. You can absolutely pre treat with an all purpose cleaner, however. So that would look like this. Foam on all clean, let it dwell (not dry), rinse off. Then pre treat with Rinseless Wash, let dwell, contact wash. Whatever's left over, grab your decon towel from your Rinseless Wash bucket and use that. If there's any etchings left from bug guts at that point, they may need to be polished out
Thank you for such a detailed response!
Whatever happened to Waterless wash that was hinted at, did I miss something?
Coming soon
I read a comment from some bloke who claims he uses a flagged-tipped nylon brush on the car's bodywork. He says that it is better than a sponge, and doesn't scratch! What is your opinion?
Incidentally I got a Legacy sponge (at last!) a couple of days ago from a firm in Scotland. I can now add it the BRS, the UBS and the BGS that I already have.
A flag tipped nylon brush is a great tool to have, and yes it doesn’t scratch when used with proper lubrication like DIY Detail Rinseless Wash or DIY Detail Incredible Suds.
Thank you for adding to your sponge collection, all designed by Yvan. Which is your favourite?
@@diydetailofficial Thanks for the reply. It is appreciated. I've just ordered a flag-tipped brush to supplement my wheel brushes and detail brushes, so I might use it on the sills and underbody of the car - using plenty of lubrication with the rinseless!
My favourite sponge is a difficult one. My technique is to start with the UBS on the roof, bonnet, boot and windows of the car as that has the least amount of contamination (which is difficult to see with a black sponge). I then use the BRS on one side of the car and then swap to the BGS on the other side. Finally, on the underside and sills of the car, I use a Sudz Budz sponge (which is my least favourite as I am unsure of its quality and therefore use it gingerly with loads of lubrication).
My technique will now probably change now I have the Legacy sponge. I will probably use it along with the UBS on the top of the car - perhaps!
As regards the "ergonomics" of the sponges, that accolade goes to the UBS. It fits so well in the hand and you have less danger of fumbling it when it is wet and dropping it. The Legacy, though, also feels good in the hand, though I have yet to try it out, but I very much doubt I'll be disappointed.
What I like about the sponges is that when you've used them, all you have to do is rinse them in clean water and let them dry. There's is none of that faffing around with washing them, as was the case with using multiple noodle mitts.
Sorry about the long waffling reply, but the rinseless wash has turned washing the car from a chore to a pleasure.
PS: Hats off to Pan the Organiser for his video on Marolex pump sprayers. I got one based on his advice and it works like a charm with the rinseless.
Thank you for taking the time to reply!
What happens if you put too much rinseless in the dilution?
Example: 16oz bottle 1/2oz rinsless?
It will Be streaky on glass, and be difficult to dry.
@@diydetailofficial so that’s why I kept wiping! 😂 🤦♂️
can you use bug removers everyday?
Best not too
@@diydetailofficial why's that? how often can you use them?
They are usually harsh chemicals. If washing daily DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash will be enough
The PSC towel shouldn't be used on a coated car, correct?
You totally can use it on a coated car. The “clay” isn’t aggressive enough to remove a coating :)
You can absolutely use it on coated vehicles 👍
What can be done if the bug guys etch your clear coat? Does the gold standard polish help, or is it beyond that?
…. Asking for a friend….
It can, but if it’s too deep it won’t help.
Is that the P&S Decontamination Towel?
No, the DIY Detail Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel is unique to us. The synthetic decontamination material is our own formula.
SO WHERE CAN I GET THAT FLOOR YOU GUYS HAVE 😂???
Swisstrax
What Rinseless mobile detailers need is a Waterless Bug Cleaner
We have that , DIY Detail Waterless Wash
@@diydetailofficialplease make a video using Waterless Wash as a bug cleaner using only a dry microfiber towel . I would like to see how it works
I don't know what kind of sissy bugs you guys have, but that does not work for me on my ceramic coated truck. Ive tried p&s bug off, 3d bug remover, turtle wax, and with a rag company jersey bug scrubber. But I still love the Rinseless wash.
You might enjoy All Clean at 15/1 with the flag tipped nylon brush.
What happened to the car in the thumbnail?
It was from a member of the DIY Detail FB group, we asked the group for a good picture to show bug guts. Basically tried to make a good thumbnail from the video but it wasn’t all that engaging and we knew we had a good message and wanted people to see it. That starts with an engaging thumbnail
@@diydetailofficial well I’ve picked up a bottle of RW, interested to give it a try.
Don't have much bug problems here thank god
Lucky lol
This is wayyyyyy to much work....3D bug remover. Takes about 1 min to get bugs off. I'm In florida, if it works here it will work anywhere.
We feature different methods on the channel to fit everyone’s needs.
This is more efficient and cost effective
They need to sell product lol ain’t gonna lie, they doing top tier marketing here lol
Yep. I just spray with a bug remover. Use a soft “interior” brush with a coating and topper comes right off. Then the overspill of the rinseless washes away the bug remover product.
