The no shoes in houses are more of a culture thing in asian households. So it's great they added it to base game to add more realism without buying the snowy escape pack.
No it's not, in my country people take off their shoes in the house unless you're a guest then we allow it and just vacuum and mop after you leave.
I think the having your shoes on thing is moreso a culture thing, I don’t think any Europeans walk indoors in shoes. Like why would you bring all the dirt and grime from the outside and spread it all over your home? It doesn’t make sense to me.
I’d say in a lot of households. Not Asian (Eastern European), but shoes in the house is gross

I hope they will give us the ability to tag dining table chairs as dining chairs so Sims will eat at the dining table instead of walking upstairs to eat on a bed (ew lol)!
I had that problem as well, but it’s pretty easy to fix. Whenever they grab a plate to eat and they walk and sit on the wrong couch or bed. Just click on the chair at the dining table and they will move and sit there to eat. Then the next 3 or 4 times you need to repeat this and after this they will continu to sit on the right chair. Hope this helps for you as well 😊

I found that they usually sit wherever other sims are if you have more than one person in the household
I find that if you set the table with any of the settings (casual/party/fancy) it helps make sims eat there first!
@@sannek2894I do this and it works most of the time, but theres the occasion where the sim will grab the plate and go to the bed to sit and get a few bites in BEFORE realizing I told them to sit at the table
the switch households feature is great, you're basically skipping two loading screens!
Actually sadly we can’t! You have to visit the household , go through a loading screen, then click switch to household if it’s not a residential rental
You can click on a door on your street without extra loading so it skips some steps for your neighbours too
You can change the windows in the San Myshuno apartments now. I figured that out by accident. Sadly you can’t change the front door or wall heights.
I'd like it if you could remodel or at least add communal washer/dryer laundry area in apartment lobbies for San Myshuno.

All the ghosts keep making white cakes too! I ended up making a cemetery just so I didn't have to keep cleaning up after them smh. So glad it's not just me

@@crowqueenamps you can just turn them off in the Pack Settings menu. I do enjoy Eco Lifestyle so I only have NAPs on when I actually want to play with that pack. otherwise, I just turn it off.

FINALLY the sims fixed this it was so annoying when sims literally put the dishes in the bathroom sink I'm glad they fixed this
it's so wild because i've literally never had this be an issue in like 5 years of playing the game

I love the new fridge swatches. Sometimes they are so thoughtful and sometimes they won't give us matching furniture inside a pack 😂
It’s an entire line. The Cool Kitchen popcorn maker also has new swatches as it’s all part of the Schmapple line.

@@samanthamorton1940 yeah. They all blur together after awhile. Any pack or kit with the Schmapple name got new swatches so they can match with the kettle and pressure cooker.

And I think the only reason is all the new life sims on the horizon. Paralives, Life By You, and Inzoi.. just to name a few. They finally have competition coming in so they HAVE to give what people have wanted.

As an East Asian, the no shoes thing makes a lot of sense/is really nice for the cultural realism. I know a lot of countries don’t wear shoes inside, but specifically the slippers thing, some households (Japanese in my experience, but maybe others?) wear slippers indoors and even provide “guest slippers” so that the floors stay clean. Nice touch ❤
In Brazil as well. We usually don't wear shoes at home, or we leave a specific flip-flop to wear
I just learned about the guest slippers thing when Snowy Escape came out. Bought my first (and last) house about six months ago and you'd better bet I have a shoe-changing station by the front door and slippers there.
Yeah it's pretty common in Europe to wear slippers and not shoes, I'm from Italy for example and we never wear shoes inside
In most of Europe too! We always take our shoes off and almost always put slippers on
I would love to see someone make a temple of some sort and have that no shoe sign. It's such a small update but it changes gameplay for people who live like that and go to temples where you can't wear shoes at all. I just think it's interesting.
I'd probably downsize the "no shoes" sign and plunk a picture or mirror over it. If you can make it small enough, hide it behind a light switch. I have my sims drink orange juice when they're sick and they get a nature's medicine buff. EDIT: WE CAN NOW CHANGE THE WINDOWS ON EXISTING APARTMENT BUILDINGS IN SAN MYSHUNO (YES, I'M YELLING!!!!).
Bathroom sink update excitement is the equivelant of animal crossing characters being able to sit down excitement.
My sim had a party earlier and all the guests just hung out in my 2 by 3 bathroom, all 9 of them, and put all their plates on the slots on the toilet and sink.
Now im waiting for the counter update because my sims KEEP MAKING GRILLED CHEESE IN THE BATHROOM.
Mine do that sometimes 😂 it's so much worse than the sinks
I only ever add a full size counter with sink in and an end counter with clutter on in the bathroom, means that can't happen
my sim runs a bakery and i have to lock her in the kitchen to keep her from baking on the counter where the register is in front of all of her customers
I wonder if Sims keep using far away sinks because of how the AI works? I saw a video about this - objects advertise their effects to Sims, and they make choices depending on their needs. Objects with higher need-fulfilling values are more desirable.

i wonder where dishwashers are included because i've had sims randomly pick between the farthest possible sink and the dishwasher, barely even acknowledging the sink in the kitchen (where i usually put dining surfaces so they don't have to walk that far)
One thing that's always bugged me is a "bookshelf" that is actually a hutch.

i heard it is in the patch when someone read the patch notes, BEFORE it came out. i believe pixelade or snatchonsims...doesnt mean it happened tho, admittedly lol
I think she said during a stream she's noticed it doesn't happen as much but couldn't confirm if anything was actually done to help.

I’m a little concerned about the werewolf patch. If a single parent or all the adults are ramping it’s hard to take care of infants. the only way the kids didn’t get whisked away was because they autonomously took care of them anyway. 😖
from gamepla,y i found out you can change exterior windows in the Eco Lifestyle & City Living apartment buildings. It's weird they didn't mention that in the patch notes...i REALLY hope it's a feature and not a bug that will later be patched
Something I found on accident after the patch today was that we can move/delete windows on apartments in san myshuno and evergreen harbor! Jaw was dropped. Sims team is kind of stepping it up lately 😊
i found the sink thing more funny than annoying but i'm so happy about the shoes update it has bothered me so much

Can we have a similar option for enable/disable chairs and tables where its okay or nkt to eat ? Im tired of my sims climbing to the highest floor of the house to go sit on a random chair in a bedroom so theh can eat their meal.

I really, really hope they'll fix the infant glitches in the next update. Especially if you have more than one, it's been a nightmare caring for them

@@faithssims6159 sims keep picking infants up, putting them down without doing anything, cancelling interactions with infants, autonomously put the baby outside of the crib and refuse to put it back in, refuse to bathe the infants, refuse to feed infants when they're in the high chair, keep canceling other actions to go check on the infant but then do nothing with it... I could literally go on and on. Perhaps a better question is "what isn't glitched about the infants?" lol
@@toa7401 Tbh whenever I play with infants now I do "make happy" and "disable need decay" all the time when the real interactions don't work, because when they first came out I had one get a trait from being poorly cared for and I was like "excuse you, I tried my best !!"

Has anyone experienced a glitch when you leave the house without infant, then return to it teleported on a roof? , so I have to cheat teleport it back
I wish it was possible to set custom rules by room for which rooms allow shoes and which don't allow it.
Like I wouldn't want shoes on in the master bedroom, but in the kitchen and dining room I'd be okay with shoes.
That's pretty much how I am in real life. The only exceptions really are guests that aren't staying long or I have just put my shoes on. On the Sims though, similarly to Simsie, I just can't be bothered to use this system. It's nice it exists but it's just there's already so much in the game that goes wrong and can go wrong I'd rather limit things happening sadly..

Oh my god I’m so excited that they’re finally trying to fix the tea/coffee glitch!!!!! Haven’t been able to have a drink maker on my counter in MONTHS
If you have the problem Kayla was having with downloading. Press in the left corner above on the icon with te 3 lines, then on help, then app recovery and then on clear cache.😊 It will stop downloading but just start downloading again! Hope this helps good luck!!❤

I really feel that with the exclusive things, like the items you get for pre-ordering a game pack, should stay an exclusive for only like a year and then just be available to anyone who buys the pack.
That would not feel fair to people buying it pre-order, and they want people to pre-order. There needs to be an incentive to buy a pack pre-order or just before any Sales happen. Without them, there is zero reward for doing so. So: pisses people off and drives down sales. Bad business.
this is great but i wish we got something bigger too? this is mostly bug fixes. was really hoping for a new build feature, like we usually get. Maybe they could let us place mirrors freely or columns on half tiles?
This is the first pack since they started doing that with a major build feature as the focus isn't it? Makes sense they didn't have time to make another one on the side.
The sink type was never really a big issue for me, it's more for counters. Sometimes I prefer to make my own custom bathroom sinks with the kitchen counters and sometimes my sims will use the bathroom counters to prep food rather than using the kitchen when there's an open counter they can use.Because of this, I always try to cover the bathroom counter with clutter, I just don't like much of the bathroom clutter though.
I still really really REALLY wish there was a way to bypass EA's game launcher. It's disheartening to be one of the small percentage of people who don't have reliable internet that end up unable to play because of their game launcher deciding to just sign us out day after day after day.
It's such a pain in the ass, it also doesn't understand the meaning of remember me ever freaking time I have to sign in I have to pull up my note where I keep my stupid ea password for the stupid ea launcher and then hope my internet is behaving
It's a workaround but you can use mobile hotspot to login and then switch to offline mode.
@@ashrowan2143 The first three days I was using their launcher to play Sims I had to sign in five different times despite checking the 'keep me signed in' option each time. It's very frustrating.
Exactly. I play through Steam, so why the hell do I need the EA launcher, too? The only thing I play from EA is Sims 4.

I wish they had added something like being able to adjust the lighting on lots when in build mode or even change the front of lot when uploading to the gallery/library. These would lend themselves really well to the new build feature in the pack and also be so good in the base game

i built a traditional japanese house recently and made an asian household to go with it, the shoes thing was so buggy and sometimes they'd freeze while their shoes appeared and disappeared and i'd have to debug them
i don't know if this will help, but LittleMsSam has a mod that removes the animation for changing into shoes/slippers/bare feet,, I love it I used it right away because the animation took too long and bugged me lol
I made a family using genetics and the parents had no body hair but their children had ALL the body hair. I was like ???? ok??

In this update, you can now customize the windows of the apartments in San Myshuno!!! That just changes whole playing of City Living. I know it's not on the ea app website but i saw this on tiktok and i started up my pc right away and it's just real. I'm so happy about it ❤
Hold on, the shoes off thing with the shoe rack has always been a thing since the few patches after snowy escape in-game though. Did no one know?

When I finally decides to download a mod for fixing the sink issue, that's when EA decides to finally fix it themselves. How funny that is.
WOOOOOO NO MORE DISHES IN THE BATHROOM
1) The plants revert to dirt piles thing has actually been fixed a number of times, but due to the complexity of the bug it has so far never gotten entirely fixed. This most recent time (not this patch but last I believe) was the third time I believe. It also isn't really a bug in and of itself, it's a symptom of ANOTHER bug which is making it harder to fix, because they have to identify the actual bug that's causing them to revert. And what they've found is that it's actually MULTIPLE different bugs.
The way Crinrict explained it over on the Sims Bug Report Forums is that when the plants don't know what state to be in they revert to dirt piles kind of as a safety mechanism. A number of bugs are making the game unable to tell for various reasons.
2) CC DOES break on some occasions. CAS stuff tends to not unless they change something with CAS but furniture breaks more frequently. It's possible that CC sinks will be broken due to the new interaction added in the update (just like how beds broke when they added the pillow fight option).
The no shoes in house is amazing! I am not gonna have this beautiful hardwood floor just for some sim to scuff it up or track doggy doo on it.
3:42 In one of the trailers they showed off rooftop pools, too, but I haven't seen anyone actually try that so I've been wondering if that was an actual thing or if it was just a trailer thing? The sink thing is nice but I'm way more into building/renovating than gameplay 😂
James Turner did a rooftop pool in one of his builds, think was his 100 apartment build. It worked
You could always put a pool on the roof, it just takes up the floor underneath.

Yeah pools on roofs has always been possible just takes up space below, but it's also possible to add windows in the sides of pools so you can see into the pool in the room below

Maybe someday they will fix the problem i have whenever i have that one window that lets your sims sneak out. Where random sims will just randomly walk into my house and often stare at my sim when they’re sleeping

@@KatelynxXxAngel even worse then! Lol. My sims atleast use the door but main problem is that strangers and friends keep coming in through the window instead of knocking on the door
You can lock that window for everyone but the sim you want to use it just like you can for doors. I found this prevents those problems

I've seen people who owned Sims 2 on origin writing emails to EA and they were given back the access. But idk if you can still do it.
the only bug I desperately wish they would fix is the white cake bug, random sims or friends of my family I'm playing with keep coming in and cooking a white cake or they don't finish it and I have to clean it up lol but it's nice they fixed the sink issue finally
Do you have Eco Lifestyle? If so, it's likely a NAP that's causing it. I don't remember which one, but I remember people losing their minds on Twitter when someone figured out that if they didn't have that NAP then they didn't have Sims making cakes all the time.
You can turn off NPC voting in settings and then avoid the ones with annoying quirks like this.
@@moonlitxangel5771 I did turn it off because I was trying to actually make the area I was living in green but I feel like we shouldn’t have to turn that off for them to stop autonomously cooking white cakes unless it’s part of the foodie one
@@KittyKitKatLove I agree. But at least for now we hafta use workarounds like this. I BELIEVE there are bug reports on them but not entirely sure

speaking of fiscal schemes even though you can’t enter build mode on dorm lots anything you can drag into your inventory you can sell. made quite a bit of change off the stacks of books and my roommates’ guitars. stole a guitar and a violin for myself while I was at it.
I have oved reading the patch notes since the sims 3. "Pregnant sims can no longer brawl" "fixed a tuning issue so sims now vomit at acceptabke levels" definitely one of the highlights of this game.
6:00 That's shoe rack has been out for months and months now. That base game shoe rack, and I love it it adds fantastic simple tricks to my game. Like my girl sends wear boots are high heels and it was found it so odd that they're wearing shoes around the house so I would always make a separate outfit with slippers on, but now right after Snow escape came out, since they added the shoe rack gameplay, most of my houses are set to slippers or socks indoors. No shoes indoors. It was such a nice little tweak but this isn't brand new at all
I went back to the Sims 4 a couple of weeks ago, so I downloaded the EA App (I hadn't played since Origin used to still work haha), and it's a bit comforting to see that it's not my PC that's having problem with the software when updates/installations are required
It would be cool if Sims only made coffee depending on the time of day - if the Sim is tired during the day, then they should make coffee, but if they're tired during the night then they should just autonomously go to bed.
We need to be able to set counters to bathroom or kitchen too. No more making garden salad in the toilet 🤞
