We use good materials, 3" exterior deck screws for all structural parts, 1/2 mesh hardware cloth, sturdy and predator-proof. High grade stains (with the nice cedar tint) to protect the whole building.
I think this is the best design out there! Simple, economical and really looks after the birds. Great piece of work altogether.

I'm just wondering your coop has welded mesh under the sleeping area and others have a solid base what is the difference and what is best?
