Isnt it crazy how most players who left klopp's team went on to become nobodies after
Cmooon, you can't say that about Mane. He was on the decline by the time he went to Bayern.
@@saintmte5076It literally does apply to Mane
@@saintmte5076 mane left at 30, he should have still been in top shape
Guys, Mane's ability was based mainly on pace and explosiveness. He had two more years at the top.
Manes wife is a child 😂
Harry Maguire from Leicester to Man Utd was the biggest robbery in history he Cost £85M.😅😅
True 😂😂😂
😂
Haha love it,well said buddy.Y.N.W.A
@mikebarnes1641 Man Utd have signed some whoppers over the years. Pogba,Antony,Sancho,Casemiro,Hojlund,Van Bissaka,Mount & Sanchez on a free transfer was a terrible buy. Our worst signing has to be Keita £52M for a bigger sicknote than Darren Anderton. And we had a lucky escape that we did not sign Mason Mount,Romeo Lavia & Caciado.
YES HE WAS AND IS SHIT 😊
VVD, Alisson and Fabinho, thank you Barcelona .
One title in 50 years? You're welcome 😂
12 Titles in 50 years. Where did you pull that from??
It wasn't a robbery. Coutinho was in his prime prior to his move to Barca
True.. It just turned out to be a robbery after failing to ignite at Barca
@@simonforrest2522 He was the right player for L:iverpool, but he was not the type Barca needed. Barca already have Messi.
It fuelled the greatest robbery in history! Vvd and Alison ❤ the rest is history!
Man city I reckon scum saved on quantum computers to rob us of more titles!!!
You got robbed mate YNWA 97 ♥️
Alison and Vvd so Sir Klopp could rejuvenate a squad from a one pass creative outlet?
Liverpool bought Coutinho from Inter Milan at £8.5 mln and sold him to Barcelona for £145 mln so nice bit of business from Liverpool. 😂❤
Saying Coutinho was 'one of the best signings of that period' is a colossal understatement.
Considering 1, his price of £8.5M, 2, his magical impact on the pitch while he was at the club and 3, the astronomical amount of profit that his sale brought the club I have no issues calling him one of the best signings in the club's history. What more could we ask from the overall deal?
As far as deals go, after all is said and done by the player, and they leave us, this was nigh on *perfection*.
Edit: And I didn't even talk about what subsequent posts have reminded about, i.e., what the club apparently did with that money, i.e., buy two players plus change but not just any two players. Two players that became the best in the world in their respective positions and powered the team up to another level. A level nigh on unmatched in the history of English football.
"One of the best signings of the period..." he said. 😁
He was a wonderful player for Liverpool and ironically he made an even bigger impact leaving Liverpool with the 142 euros funding the players Klopp wanted and needed.
Liverpool fans need to thank Coutinho for their success
Without him being sold. No Allison or Van Dijk
How the hell can you call the sale of Coutinho a robbery!? Did you see his stats for Liverpool in his final season for them? He was probably one of the best players in the world at that point.
It's all about how much we got and what he did after we sold him
Barcelona ruined him, he was so good, so fun to watch at liverpool, one of the most exciting players.
Most accurate & honest comment
He was a very good player who had great moments, a long way from a great player. Liverpool was perfect for him. He was a fool to leave. Once Salah was wrestled off, we were left with a half-fit Lallana in the CL final. That was down to Coutinho leaving in January.
@@ajw9533 Wouldn't of got the the final without the £145m
Greed ruined him. Klopp told Phil before the move to Barca that if he left he would just be another player for them, but if he stayed there would be a statue of him at Anfield. Phil still wanted the move so Jurgen didn't stand in his way.
Absolutely brilliant business since we brought in VVD and Ali from those funds!
Antony to manutd for 100m was a robbery
Additional information >> LFC already heard the news that Neymar was about to leave Barcelona for over 200 Million, that is why LFC demand Coutinho fee for so high.
Additional information >> Neymar had already left
still cant believe there's a Brazilian player who didnt succeed in Barca! Barca was a heaven for Brazilian players! Romario, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar, Alves....man....all of them r legends!
Honestly Barcelona single-handedly ruined the transfer market with that pair of signings.
Neymar-> psg
Countinho -> Barca
I remember how Klopp personal went to Coutinho’s house to plead with him to stay for just that season but he refused and that same season we got to champions league finals
As a liverpool fan didn't realise or feel it at the time this was one of the greatest things to happen for liverpool...as it brought in Allison and van dyke then the trophys followed
Even before he left the numbers were obvious. On the one hand he was involved in a very high percent of LFC goals. But more importantly they won more PL points when he was OUT of the team than IN it. Simple: once Salah came and Mané took the left wing the only place for Coutinho was on the left of the middle three. When he kept drifting infield that left a huge gap and the left back exposed. Lots of scores and assists, not great at pressing. Not mentioned in this video is Wijnaldum. The man who took that left mid slot and was able to both attack AND defend. And moved up and down his left channel without wandering inside into a 10 role (where Coutinho wanted to be). So Wijnaldum became part of the classic Klopp trophy winning midfield with Hendo and Fab. That threesome tends to get overlooked with all the focus on the front 3 and on the purchase of Allison and VVD. Basically replacing Coutinho with Wijnaldum in that left mid slot basically improved the team both with and without the ball. Simple.
What a legend would have he been if he stayed at LFC.
Speed,technique,passes,shots...he had it all.
He most certainly wasn't fast. nor was he great at pressing and had poor stamina. He was subbed off a lot on the 60+ minute mark. He had everything else though.
Coutinho, bought for 8.5m and sold for 142M. lol
He wasn't playing bad at Barcelona they just expected him to put up Messi number status when he could never do that
I don't care what anybody says, Coutinho was one of my favourite ever players at Liverpool. He was absolute magic. I don't know why he went so downhill after leaving Liverpool, because every game I saw him at Liverpool he was getting better and better with every game right up until he left.
Michael Edwards bartering techniques are legendary 😅.. But did Barca end up paying us the full whack as i remember the deal had several clauses that needed fulfilling before we got the £142m (i think)
Apparently we sold off the clauses to a private equity firm. So when coutinho did win the ucl with Bayern Liverpool didn't get any payment but the firm did. Might have had to get a few lawyers involved to get Barca to settle though.
@@chubs2312 😂😂
Coutinho missed out on all the trophies Liverpool won 2019-2020.
There's a story about Coutinho that leaked via one of the coaches that goes that Klopp, in his first season in the club, was drilling the players by doing an improvised stamina and fitness check on the full pitch by getting them to do a bleep test on the half pitch from the goal to the halfway line and when they eventually failed the test they were to immediately sprint as quickly as they could to the other goal where there would be a ball fired at them, which they were to bring under control and turn and sprint is back to the net they started at to score. Klopp's team needed to be very fit to implement his gegenpress and counter attacks. Most playes could do this with varied levels of success, but apparently Coutinho could only walk the ball back to his net, and collapsed after he rolled it home. He was completely unfit to feature in Klopp's heavy metal football and was earmarked for departure at the earliest possible convenience.
The fact that we got so much money for him was amazing.
Not a robbery if the player was at his peak and everyone thought he was worth it or at least close to it. We were fighting to keep him. Did we forget what Klopp said to him. No one wanted him to leave except the player and barcelona.
What I absolutely loved about it was that this came just a few years after Barca's constant tapping up of Daniel Agger. The man calmly responded by publishing a photo of a brand new set of tattoos on his knuckles reading "YNWA". That's why we love him to this day. Coutinho? Oh, right, the rat who helped deliver Alisson, Van Dijk, Fabinho, the League and #6 in Europe.
💯 agreed! Daniel Agger, love him 💯. A player who is really loyal to Liverpool 💪
Coutinho wasnt a bad player. Wasnt worth 140 mil but also wasnt as bad as Barca made him out to be. Was just misplayed and not given the confidence to play.
Alberto Aquilani.... How could one butcher a name so badly?
Coutinho is the Best player among Salah,Mane and Firmino and The best player in Brazil than won Copa America in the absence of Neymar. His role in Liverpool is similar to Messi in Barcelona, Barca don't need him but buy him anyway
The realist comment I've seen so far ! Alot watch highlights & not the game smdh😂
And what did you do to Alberto Aquilani's surname? 😁 If he was 'before your time' as a fan, then I forgive you. 😁
What a player though... I was really disappointed that things never quite happened for him at the club but when he arrived he was assisting lot of goals, even getting a standing ovation at one point at Anfield, until he got hurt (if memory serves).
Couldn't adjust and was always injured I how I saw that one turn out
I didn’t blame him for wanting to go to Barca at all. I lost respect for him when faked a back injury then went to Brazil to play for their national team where he started sobbing after scoring a goal. The really tasteless part is when he had friends & family go on national tv & cry that Liverpool were “crushing his dreams” and that they were so abusive he was suffering form psychosomatic illness like the back ache & throwing up everything he ate every day.
Facts i remember all that !!
There's kind of a curse when this happens, Torres was another absolutely horrific Liverpool departure.
I’m a Real Madrid fan but I support Liverpool in the premier league, as a Real Madrid fan this is why I also love Liverpool because of this transfer
He shouldn't have left liverpool. Klopp warned him. "If you go to Barcelona, you will be second choice. You will not be the focus. If you stay here at liverpool, they will make a statue of you outside anfield." Klopp was correct. He did end up second choice, then sent out on loan, losing a lot of his confidence. Even when he got back to the prem, he wasnt the same player. In the end it worked out amazingly for liverpool. Him, mane, gini, emre can all left and dropped their level. Not many players leave and do a suarez.
I ripped up my coutinho shirt up after he left us but gaining vvd and alisson was unreal business
Didn't he win a champions league, couple la liga's, Bundesliga and some cups after he left? ⛳
Yeah, but he was just a "passenger" after leaving LFC. He wasn't a big part of any of those trophies.
The masterstroke of the c@ntinho transfer was it was written in his contract barca would have to pay significantly more for anyone of ours players for 2 years!!!! This alollwed us to rebuild 👌👍♥️
Wasn’t a robbery, it was a choice. He chose wrong 🙃
YNWA
Coutinho was played behind the strikers at LFC, but in Barca and Munich they played him as an attacker. Coutinho played his best football under Rogers not Klopp. He was simply played out of position.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I mean he didn't at all played ok in Rogers only good season but not enough goals so much better under klopp , and this title is a joke we told him not to go as he was playing his best football all these young footballers need to understand real Madrid is dream sold to kids growing up but it's a living nightmare once your there
@@joshcoll2518he went to Barcelona mate 😂 ( but I get your point )
Barcelona played him as a left winger. He was Neymar’s replacement after he left for PSG. He couldn’t do much to influence the game when he was played out wide. They thought he could cut in and curl shots in but he didn’t have the strength or pace to beatwingbacks.
@@jamdonut4021 I know lol but there a better example as a club I rant better in person
Don’t blame coutinho for overpaying clubs..he was top 5 players in world while playing for Liverpool. Gerrard, Suarez amplified Coutinho
He was fantastic for us under Rogers I don't know what happened with him but he wasn't a fraud he's got enormous talent and he had drive and a great team player for the most time with Liverpool
I have watched Coutinho play at liverpool and was legit surprised when Barca came with this price tag for him! He kept waiting to shoot the ball in front of the box for most games at liverpool and would sometimes be a handicap rather than a help and his stats were always poor!
This is a lesson to all young footballers who all of sudden switch up on the club that made big because of money
Coutinho was boss at Liverpool, not his fault Barca watched him play for years then didnt know how to use him. His confidence took a knock and no one around him cared. if they hadnt sold his bestie Neymar before he signed he'd have been fine with someone supporting him. If he'd stayed at Liverpool he would have continued to excel. Selling him was the best move for them though.
I noticed that his confidence dropped. Perhaps because he could not score enough, but it seemed he started making sure he didn't miss the target, and the shot was too close to the keeper and he didn't slam it as hard as he could.
Any player forcing a transfer is not a player I would want. Just remember this fella and Dembele...
glad we got rid of him ...
I thought the biggest robbery in football history was someone signing Andy Carroll for £45mil from Newcastle.. think they forgot the decimal point 😂
Although we did use the money wisely to buy Allison and VVD - we never really replaced him and did seem to miss his creativity and goal output that would’ve made the difference against City
I couldn’t believe the fee at the time. It was an absolute jackpot.
lol Antony to man united for 90 million puts this to shame
Klopp was gonna build a team around him but greed got the better of the player basically
I think selling Torres was a bigger robbery. We all knew he had gone off the boil, so we were happy to get rid for a handsome fee. Sadly we were then robbed ourselves by Newcastle 😅
He was something special at Liverpool and as much as it hurt losing him, I got it. Barcelona was the biggest of draws. I watched his downfall with a heavy heart. If only he’d have stayed they would’ve built a statue of him….or is that a US thing? Anyways, I enjoyed the good times
Van Dijk was bout in the December of 2017 and was announced in the January of 2018. Which means Coutinho wasn't sold yet
In addition to that Liverpool had a bid rejected by Southampton in that summer. The money for Van Dijk was already there.
His best position by a mile was as a 10. I think Barca had quite a good one of them already. He wasnt a winger or a number 8.
He not a winger but he can play wing forward ..in left side mostly..he just a cover for neymar formation when neymar left..but barca can adopt other formation that excluding coutinho
Thay was a brilliant video iv always liked courtinhio and at the time i thought we were mad to cash in but since then i realised it was a good thing to do so it was good from lfc its a shame that we didnt have the money to by alison van dike fabinhio and keep courtinhio thats wat i wanted i even wanted by him bk but we did good LFC FOREVER YNWA
If i buy the Mona Lisa and piss all over it, was Da Vinci a fraud?
It would sure explain the bemused smirk on her face though
Not LFCs fault at all! Coutinho wanted to go, it was down to Barca to manage the player and get the best out of him.
The only robbery was when United paid £85m for a clown who is more known for beating his gf than anything else.
Typical Barca spending at the time. Instead of going for players that strengthen the team in areas they needed, they bought a player that did the same job as Messi.
They bought him as cover for messi coz neymar left
Despite being the better team against Real Madrid? Silly Liverpool fan. You were never better than Real Madrid, the game clearly showed it with bad goal keeping from Liverpool and losing in the end. Smh
Barcelona was still in the drunk lottery winner mindset
supported liverpool since 1977. 80s best time so dominant.
If you own something and someone wants to buy it then they offer a ridiculous price for it this is never a robbery. 🤦♂️ There was no fraud either they wanted the player and bought the player they wanted. He’s not guaranteed to perform how they expected 🤣🤣
I'd have liked to have watched an unbiased retelling of the events but you lost me at the insinuating that this was all part of the plan. I'm out.
Courtinho was great at Liverpool. Barca didn’t play him in his position.
2:40 sorry but you need to check your facts. Fernando Torres did not betray Liverpool. Management/ownership betrayed Fernando with lies & broken promises. In the end he did what (he thought) was best for his career.
Still, could have gone to Bayern, Barca, Inter or back to Atleti instead of a huge PL rival
@@rocketmonty9916 Again check the facts... Chelsea were the only team that Liverpool accepted a bid from that transfer window. So again, what choice did he have? Stay another half / full season? While hoping he still plays well & doesn't get injured?
@@mr.j6243 doesn't change the fact he could have stayed. The ownership changed before he left, he could have helped build something new with Gerrard, Reina and a few other quality players who didn't run away. He chose glory over loyalty, he's a traitor to us.
Liverpool didn’t want to sell if you want to buy you have to pay a premium it’s Barca fault
Eto + 50 mil for ibra is the worst transfer of all times
i don't think coutinho was a fraud , the problem was barca playstyle which wasn't that great after 2016 , have you ever notice why most signed players that comes to barca always struggled ? that's why they couldn't fit in the team , also those times the team built around messi and the playstyle makes new players to suppress their potential , coutinho , pjanic , ballerin , griezmann , traore were all fantastic players but all struggled the most only in barca , so you must know that it's was a serious problem . But not everyone too struggled on that playstyle FDJ, griezmann, Lewa,Dembele , Auba , Paulinho , arturo vidal , depay ,kessie , luuk de jong , malcom , arthur adjusted themselves really quickly . But that playstyle was the blame , it's from xavi and now flicks style which makes the play really aggressive (not that much with the xavi ) but new barca team tactics has changed completely , cause everyone taking chances to score or assist or contribute in both attack and defense
Not a robbery by any means. Simply strong negotiating and an imbecilic opponent.
Clicked on this video expecting to watch a to watch Andy Carrol going to Liverpool from Newcastle United.
Couthino refused to play longer for Liverpool to force his move to Barça, somthing who was hip for a while. A player, who had the chance to move for better Salary, refused to play anymore to force a move. How one calls this? Couthino got the bill for this.
The coutinho’s story make the kops have a big laugh😂
It's barca fault. Coutinho is top player. But barca dont know how to use him
Coutinho was in his prime at liverpool, most clubs wanted him. The club getting the most they could for him, is not a scam
He was part of team where he was a star but went to a team where he was a nobody with such megastars there already
Nah, they just don’t know how to integrate him in the team and get the best out of him. Not all players are suitable for any system neither.
Horse shit...he wanted to go..Klopp said to him that if he stayed at A field, they would erect a statue in his honour..if he went to Barcelona, he would end up mediocre.
As Liverpool fan i really loved his time here, but when Barca come with €130M thats actually easy decission to sold him specially when Liverpool need upgrade here and there in their rebuild at that time, he wasn't worth that much but thanks to Neymar transfer everything are so inflated at that time
Atleast Coutinho win his UCL tho just not with barca, and ironically he really playing so amazing in that 8-2 massacre 😂😂
Torres? Sometimes when you are on a high, it's hard to feel the same magic with a different team. You need a lot of backing from team mates. Or sometimes it's just not the right fit and you doubt yourself. Quite sad really, magical player. Look at Mane, another great talent that couldn't fit in at a new club. He could have ended his career at Liverpool on a massive high. Sometimes the grass is not always greener, but maybe the trophies are more important for some people. Let's just hope we get the same or more for Salah if he decides to leave.
And even after the astronomical offer, Klopp still tried warning him that while Messi was there he won’t get a look in
Don't forget the added block sum on barca from buying more lfc players added to Coutinho's sale.
How is it a robbery though? We used the money to get Van Dijk and Alisson Becker. Look at what happened.
What did Barcelona get out Coutinho for that ridiculous fee? That's the robbery. We got the best GK and the best CB in the world in return.
You went a bit Lloyd Christmas there pal.
Liverpool used coutinho as a stepping stone u sausage
Click bait. That's why we are here. Not robbery because no one thought that he would be unsuccessful. Barcelona got a lot of money for Neymar.
If they got the player who left liverpool and he continued that way even that would have been cheap.
The problem was Messi at Barca...and Neymar at the Brazilian team there amazing power stumped his growth and development in both situations 🤷🏾♂️.
Courtinho sale was the only time FSG really bought players. Prime example of their sell to buy policy.
Coutinho was so good at Liverpool.
so sad the day he left. But at least the money was well spend on building the squad.
Barcelona did not need coutinho. Just wanted to make superstar buy. Plain and simple
Make a apology video for van den berg! Please he deserves it lol
I think he wasn't fraud but the coaches can't improve him
I mean if this is a robbery, how about Hazard? Cutinho did so good at liverpool, but after switch to barca he has not been himself.
There is TONS of stories like this. So again .. Liverpool robbed barca? no, not at all. The player didnt deliver as he "should" have.
How was it a robbery? Liverpool said many times he was not for sale....Barcrlona were relentless and the player himself forced a move out.
Willing buyer, willing seller. Barcelona got their valuation totally wrong.
Coutinho was too Good, stop this madness
Its not Coutinhos fault. He don't determine the price
Should be retitled ‘the biggest regret in football’
Barca has still not paid full money of coutinho transfer to Liverpool fc
Robbery is Lewandowski not getting BallonD’or
As a 20yrs fan, He shd stay for us even 1 more yr. The club has transformed in mgt that football director s in charge of buying n selling players becoming more efficient
Barca had a nervous breakdown after Neymar left. One result of that was that they wanted to overpay on Coutinho: nobody made them.
