I'm so confused, the doughnut has a lot of compartments but I'm not sure if it cn fit a lot of books and folders, meanwhile the kanken is almost too minimalistic but its interior is rather roomy. I don't know what to choose 😭
jiminie park Haha you have a point! But I think my laptop fits better in Doughnut (13”) since it has a cushion vs Kanken. I guess it depends on how you want to organize your stuff inside the bag...you can choose to just add your own compartments and inner cases if you want!
@@AbbeySy thank you for the reply! buying more bags to make my things more organized seems like such a hastle though 😂 I'll try to see if the macaroon can fit a lot of things inside it
Having had both, I can definitely say the Doughnut is a lot roomier. I found myself stacking pouches in the kanken and it made it a hassle to pull out item while playing tetris with pouches. If brand isn't an issue, reach for a Himawari. It looks just like the Doughnut and less than half of the price.
Abbey Sy I think I’ll buy kanken cause it was designed for back problem or something and I carry my backpack all day in school so perfect

After watching many back pack reviews about the doughnut macaroon bag, I finally bought it! It was quite expensive but I finally bought it, I have the bag in the size large in the colour hazelnut.
I have the same bag but is is branded as Ruffles. It really looks the same❤I bought it in the SM Department Store.

I recommend the anello bag!
I have used it briefly but I prefer this type of backpack :)
The himawari backpack looks the exact same with the same or more amount of room/pockets. The price is also lower than most kanken and doughnut bags.
It's an imitation so I prefer using the original one.
Abbey Sy I know that but it’s just an option for people with not much money who may be looking for a bag similar to the doughnut. Just sayin so people in the comments are aware.
Eyeing the himawari too, just hope they release it in more colors. :(
There’re a lot of people who had problems with the zipper. I would not really recommend the knockoff on the long term if you’re someone that doesn’t take care of your bags. If you’re the type of person that throws your bags when you get home after a long day at work or school buy the real one it’s more solid.
I have the same backpack Macaroon in Ivory x Lightblue. I use it as mommy bag, it is very functional. 😊

Yes! The one that says "Macaroon" (not mini or large). It fits a laptop!
My former asst gave me the Frida pouch so I'm not sure where she got it haha
Abbey Sy macaroon is just a name of the model not size. Small, medium and large are all called macaroon.
Monika Marszal she probably has the “one size” one. I think it’s the medium one.

Its worth it, i returned my kanken for this and ive had the doughnut for 2 years now its holding up really good and even is comfortable with my back despite me having back problems myself. Its a very good backpack

If you want a dupe, try Himawari. It's available in some SM stores. It's very similar and is a Japanese designed bag. It's around 1,850 pesos. Really same placement sa compartments
