June is a great time to sow seeds because the soil is properly warm by now and there is a mix of new things to get going and also its a time when we should be thinking about successional sowings of many things we started in early spring to extend the harvest.

Hi jess my husband & i love watching you & your mum we get so many tips from you xx
If ornamentals are more your thing then June is a great time to start sowing Biennials for flowers next spring and early summer. Wallflowers, Sweet William, Canterbury Bells, Foxgloves, Sweet Rocket, Honesty can all be grown on in pots over the summer and planted out in early October once the summer annuals are finished.
Wonderful tip. Thank you!
Thank you
@Jim Randolph 😎
You deserve a "The Loveliest Plot's Gardener" Medal from London's Mayor 🏅🌱😁
agreed!
:D thanks Jorge. lol
Hahah!
I love looking at seeds, i dont think ill ever have enough lol i think i have years and years worth of seeds but always look for more lol
As I think back to the "Old Days" of Grandother's stories, I recall as a young one all these great informative tips.
Thank you, 👏🏼💜
We all need to be growing stay safe everyone
Love the cat laying in the sun behind you.😸
Successive planting of lettuces! I do the same with peas, weekly throughout June, July and August. Summer beans such as French beans, runner beans, and drying beans such as Greek gigante and belotti beans. She pointed out protecting new sowings of pak choi, spinach and other tender plants by sowing in a shadier bed.
Thank you! Good vibes as always xxx
Fantastic, good tip for growing peas!
Thank you for being so encouraging. My mother-in-law keeps saying how she has been eating potatoes and peas for some weeks now. I look at my garden, it makes me feel a failure. You have picked me up as by the end of this month, early July vegetables should come good. Thank you!!!
It was perfect planting weather today. Cool and overcast. My entire conservatory has been covered with plants. Today I planted out flowers. It was so satisfying. They are so much bigger than normal. I can see my dinning room table again! It will be nice to direct sow on the allotment. I am going to follow your list. Thanks Jessica.
Hahaha, its amazing when you start rediscovering you house again after they all get moved out isn't it|?!
New sub and that was really good. Look forward to the next video.

Absolutely! One lot of each just makes them more special!
Excellent video and seed selection for sowing in June Jessie to continue producing crops. It's great that we're getting sunshine and that we can get out in our allotments/gardens 👍

Just started watching your videos. I love gardening too. It’s so nice to be able to add greatly to our food sources. Watching things grow and mature always fascinates us. We raise all sorts of veggies. God bless you young lady. (Old guy from Arkansas)🇺🇸

Wow 🌿🍀🌱🍀good 👍🏽
Great video Jess... and you are 1 subscriber away from 10000! Woo Hoo 😊
:DD Thanks Sandra!
You are certainly going to be busy getting that lot in so good luck with everything. You're cat was enjoying the hot weather behind you.
Hahaha, yeah Lily have been soaking up the sunshine!
Think you should write an allotment diary, for all us newbies to follow. All the best. Love from Blackpool
I would love that. Really good idea
:D I tried to write one for myself before but it was all so weather dependant i had to keep shuffling things around! I might try to put together an 'adjustable' one or something!
Class video, cheers.
Just discovered your channel very intersting and practical advice... Subscribed. Love your plot it looks lovely and lush.
Fab information. Very motivational. Thanks.
:D Thank you!
This is perfect video I have got a good amount started this year but got really put off with the weather so didn’t succession sow what I’d planned too. But now I feel ready to get back on top on things again
:D thats fab Bethan!
🤩 you are acting as my to do prompt list as in Cheshire we are a few weeks behind you weather wise. Busy week ahead and time to order a floppy sun hat 🌞🌞
:D Yes to the floppy sun hat!!
Super useful - I'm a new veg gardener and have learned so much from your vlog!
Welcome to the veg gardener club! Lots of great tips online. The best new thing I've learned online is about companion planting. For example, marigolds and courgettes with tomatoes.
Thanks Andy!
I have to get wiggle on as I've not even cut the lawns yet this year mixture of weather other jobs and health love your enthusiasm and your my type of gardener partly planned partly on the hoof
Nice and interesting 👍
I should get planting and plant some plants then. 👍
:D
thank you jessie
different gardening here in Indiana...large plots of canning veggies...eat a bit of fresh but it’s sooo good all year from the jar when done right...I actually plant green beans on Aug 2nd for my late crop and they thrive
Great job! :)
I enjoyed this thank you
Jess that was interesting red peas and full sun, I will remember that for planting when it’s time here as I did put my pots in full sun position for last summer, new gardener
Jess this is the info which is so useful for new growers. We had a chap here who did a similar on tv and radio he’s now I think 90 and no longer on tv but, the tv program still popular and does include a week by week bit but much less info. I really miss him as it always worked as a reminder even though I wasn’t growing veggies back then.
Ah, what was his name, do you remember? I might see if i can find him. I remember years ago we had a cable-tv program (back when cable tv was a bit of a novelty) that was a woman just doing stuff in a vegetable garden and it was amazing but i only have the vaguest memory of it and nobody else seems to have a clue what i'm talking about! I'd be interested to look up your chap!
Visiting you from Gander Newfoundland and Labrador Jessie. YOU have a very neat plot!
Great video
Love it and thanks for info xxx
Thanks Nick!
i sowed some Cavalo Nero Kale in January & kept them on a window cill above a radiator they got to about 3" in height then keeled over , yours are doing really well
J'adore votre chaîne. Merci de France
break this up to 10 differernt videos! each deserve their own ~! love your channel
Excellent vid- as always. Some good ideas on varieties there, just need to quadruple the size of my veg plot :(
Hahahaha, ditto! I think any number of beds wouldn't be enough!
Best supporting Actress goes to Lily, the allotment cat. Great info Jess! I planted my lettuces and spinach inside waaaay too early then transplanted into my beds. They are massive and beginning to bolt. I can’t eat them fast enough. My radish and onions are coming along, and tomatoes. Can’t wait to have that first Sungold tomato. Good repurposing on the reused shoebox for seed storage. See you Tuesday, have a grand weekend. Congratulations on 10K! 👍🏻🌺🌸🌼🥬🥦🌶🧅🥒🍅
Hahaha, Lily is really getting into this vlogging thing. :D
It was really hard with timing this spring wasn't it? last year it wouldn't have been too early!
And thanks on the 10K :D
Thanks! 💚
:D
Not sure how you made it onto my suggested list, but the urge to bury my beans is amazing... 😇🤫 you’ve gained a loyal subscriber!
Nice👍👏
Wow i love it looking good 🌽🌽🌽🌷🌹🌹🌸🌸🌸
Tank top... Most popular video hmph...
Thumbs up !!!
:D
Turnip! Forgot to sow Hugo’s turnip! 🙄🙈🐢
Thanks Jessie, you’re a wealth of information 🙏 ...... happy sowing x
Oh no! Hugo! :D Quick!
Jessie at Plot 37 😂😂🐢🙈
For sweetcorn, i do both, presoak and not, but for 1st planting it gets planted after a 2-3 week area that was heated under plastic, it gets a huge jump, corn likes warm soil.
Hi Jessie, great vid was really useful, would be interested in the pick and come again leaves you are sowing. Thank you for sharing.
Hi! I'm going to be sowing some next week so i will go through varieties!
nice video
Thanks
In my first serious year of gardening in Bulgaria at 550m (1800ft) altitude, good for potatoes, beans peas, apples and just did second sowing yesterday June 25 and same here the peas and beans in a slightly shady area because we get a lot of sun July/Aug, Pak Choi and spinach tend to bolt so Im going to try end Aug sowing.
Great vid, very timely. As a new allotmenteer I was just thinking my plot is full, what next? I will have to watch again. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent Pat! That happens to me every year! :D
Thanks
Thank you Sue!
You know what you doing first time on your channel welldone girl. I like your tiger looking eyes 🐅
Your allotment's looking fab Jessie, my peas are a wee bit behind (but we're in Ireland and both April and May were sh*te! Forgive the language please) and every leafy green I planted bolted like mad so I'll be resowing just about everything I can. I put my pumpkins out last week and a little slug damage aside, they're hanging in there and growing. Worst of the slug damage was to the runner beans. I think they thought I'd planted them an allyoucaneat buffet!:/
Also sowing fennel, I drink fennal tea so thought I'd give making my own a go.
Thanks for making great, informative, down to earth videos. :)
Thanks Trish! Gah, the slugs!! We saw nothing of them up until may here (it was too dry, too cold) but now... holy smoke. they are scoffing everything. I'm planting my beans out today so wish me luck!
@@JessieatPlot37 Good luck! I resorted to organic slug pellets round mine but every morning there's a new set of (many!) slug trails around the base of each plant. Beans seem to be slug haute cuisine. Wee buggers! The good news is, of course, the taller they get the less damage the slugs can do so fingers crossed :D
