    Thoroughly enjoyable. No surprise there then. Good solid advice, I agree, no need to always have to hike somewhere to shoot from. I'm rather warming to the idea of driving my gear around in the car, especially now the colder weather is coming. Some cracking images too, particularly liked the first one in the gallery as it illustrates the sheer scale of the location wonderfully. 🙌 👍

But I do like being able to lug all of my pro gear with me for this sort of thing. And it makes a change not coming home dripping in sweat! 😁👍

    Cheers , it’s Sean in Atlanta! I also had an EM5 and I regretted selling it! For anyone out there that has never had one, it truly is a wonderful and small but powerful camera. I think I am the perfect bait for camera companies because I listen to all my favourite photographers, you being one of them, and then I have to rush out and get the latest and greatest and wonder why my pictures don’t reflect the deficit in my checking account! Haha! So you know what? The other day I purchased a brand-new Panasonic GX85. I almost got another EM5 but thought I would try something a little different.
    You live in such a beautiful country! Atlanta has no scenery like that and the few times that I have had the pleasure of visiting the UK, I am always left wanting more and you help give me that!
    Another excellent video from you and I thank you for that! I’ll just leave you with one question, did the originators of the Welsh language think, “wait till the Americans see the spelling of this one“ before they made your language? Haha!
    Sean

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem +1

      Hello Sean, thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts. I must admit that I was very much in two minds whether to sell my EM5, but in the end I decided that any situation where I would have used that would be covered by my OM1. Especially since the EM5 isn't substantially smaller / lighter than the Olympus pro cameras. But the great advantage of the EP7 is that it has exactly the same sensor and processor as the EM1X and E1 mk3. So the image quality is unrivalled in a compact size camera body. And with regards to your question about the Welsh language, it's fair to say that when they were originating it, America wouldn't be invented for another 2000 years! 😊👍

It's always a worry when I'm trying to make a point about sometimes you can only get out with your camera around other commitments and so conditions might not always be ideal, especially when I'm trying to say that it is still possible to make indecent images. Hello Tony, yes when I was looking into my options I saw that the EP5 was considered something of a definitive model. Very well reviewed. I guess they thought that bringing out a compact but interchangeable lens model with updated sensor and processor was a good move. Although it seemed to slip out onto the market quite quietly and seems to have fewer online reviews than most cameras 😊👍

    I have a Lumix GX80 walk-about camera. It's similar to the Pen but has an EVF (only 16MP tho'...) but a lightweight "pocketable" camera is great to have. I use the Lumix 14-42 pancake on it, very similar to your Oly pancake, but I often take my Oly 17mm and 45mm primes instead.

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem

      Hi Alan, yes I may well pair it up with the 17mm too, from time to time. The winning feature on this camera for me is that the sensor and processor is the one used in the EM1-X & mk3. And being able to couple that in such a compact body with any M4/3 glass makes it a beast when it comes to image quality. So all I'm missing when carrying it are the "features" from the bigger bodies 😊👍

    A fun outing and you made some wonderful images. So about that EP7...is the lack of an evf still workable even in bright light? You Brits mostly have moody skies 😉, but I've never been able to really see my smart phone camera screen on let's say a beach or other bright sun. Thanks, enjoyed your sharing the photo outing.

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem +1

      The screen is pretty bright and I haven't had any major problems so far. Also you can angle it to reduce reflections a little if necessary. But doing without the EVF is a decent trade-off for szie and weight, for me. But you're quite right about the moody skies, it probably won't get much use in bright sunlight anyway 😊👍

    Sorry, but it’s not an opinion as to whether diffraction causes a loss of clarity and sharpness. It does. Whether it causes enough softness to ruin the image is a different matter

      I didn’t say it doesn’t cause diffraction. So I’m not sure what point you’re making?

      @@DGriffGallery Quote from your video: "There's that ubiquitous argument about diffraction creeping into the image, well I don't buy that at all"

      @@alhOOO2O Ah I see. I probably didn't word it very well. I should have said "I don't care about that at all" 😊👍

    I'm interested in a review, or if you can just talk about your dog walk camera.

      Yes, I think I probably will do a very brief overview of the camera with some sample images. When I was looking into it I found that there weren't very many reviews of it out there and so hopefully it will be helpful 😊👍
