This is Why You've Never Heard of the Nation of Chagos

  • The story of the island nation of Chagos is an extremely interesting one, albeit with a possible tragic demise for the native Chagossian people.
In this video, I discuss the origins of the unique Chagossian people or the Îlois, a multiracial ethnicity with origins from Africa, Europe, and Asia. These creole people have inhabited the island chain of Chagos for a couple hundred years until the British came along and created a little trouble in paradise.
If you have ever met a Chagossian, or even a Mauritian, Seychellois, or Réunionese person be sure to share this video with them. Spread the word about Chagos! We shall convert them into lovers of the all mighty Kek before too long!
    Thanks for watching!

Mauritius has gone to the International Court of Justice since two days ago to help regain Chagos. The last remaining person alive who was in the Mauritian committee for Independence from the UK revealed that actually, they were pressurized to give away Chagos cause it was either Independence but give away Chagos or never get the Independence that the Mauritian people so desperately hoped for. Only US, Israel and Australia are against Mauritius and Germany claimed to support neither side. 22 other countries are in favour of giving back Chagos to Mauritius so that they can help the Chagossians get back to their country.

I lived with a Chagossian guy when I lived near Gatwick airport just outside of London. He was a really friendly guy and we never really brought up the subject of Diego Garcia, I feel bad about what the UK did to his family and the other Chagossians. The creole sounds a lot like French and he has a lot of family that lives in Mauritius, the cuisine is somewhat like Indian but with lots of seafood! As you would expect.

My husband was stationed on Diego Garcia back in the late 1970's. There was a mix of US and British Troops (Plus a whole lot of wild donkeys) and they used it as a supply base especially during the Persian Gulf War. We were just falling in love at the time and when he called they would have a phone line from Connecticut to San Diego California. From there they had a radio to Diego Garcia. When I talked I had to say my sentence and then OVER so the radioman knew i was done with that sentence and it opened up to my then boyfriend to speak. Typical conversation" "I love you, over" "I miss you, over" " How are you, over" "I am fine, over"...very romantic, lol!!!

the people that were imported there were plantation slaves and operators. they grew coconuts for copra a crop no longer in great demand... the plantation shut down for lack of profitability and the workers were abandoned....
they were doomed to inbreeding and would have died out in grinding poverty...
these plantation slaves were not seafaring people, and they had insufficient local resources to maintain a healthy population...

If you have visited this country, you will notice that famine doesn't exist in other island under the sovereignty of Mauritius. There are lots of innacuracies in your statements
Mauritius did not voluntarily sold the islands to the the UK, it was not given any choice at all. At that time, Mauritius was under British colonial rule, even if Mauritius disagreed they would have remove the islands from Mauritius, the best choice for Mauritius was to cede it TEMPORARILY and have its independence. In the agreement, the UK promised to return it when it will not be required for defense purposes which at that time was the Soviet Union war. The £3 Million that you mentioned was only a meagre compensation given to Mauritius, the UK used it to pretend that it was the price of the islands. After 50 years the UK is still using all type of pretexes to use the island for defence purposes. Both the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) confirmed that the islands was ceded under duress and that its completely illegal under international law to dismembered a territory before its indepemdence. After the Chagos was removed from Mauritius territory, Chagossians who went to Mauritius for medical purposes were not allowed to return home, food supply was cut off on Chagos islands, the Chagossians was threaten and all their dogs was gased with vehicle fumes. Finally all remaining Chagossians was deported like cattle to Seychelles where they were temporarily kept in prison before they were dumped on the street of Port Louis, Mauritius without any belongings. Lots of Chagossians died and many commited suicide. Chagossians brough a series of court cases against British govt in UK courts, they lost many cases but also won but the UK decided to overide the decision using the powers of the Evil Queen. To fool them, the UK decided to give chagossians UK passport and eventually some Chagossians move to the UK but other Chagossians generation was not given British citizenship which led to break up of families. Despite the martyr that they endured by the British, most Chagossians has been supporting British sovereignty over the Chagos islands especially those who live in the UK became obsessed about British citizenship and though that the UK will have much more money to re develop their islands and instead blamed Mauritius for their suffering. But now after realising that the British govt has been fooling them for nearly 50 years and have no intention to let them return to their islands, then they decided to support Mauritian sovereignty except those living in the UK.

    Chagos Archipelago.
    Explored by Maldivian people.
People refused to settle because of isolation.
Mascaranus disocereved it. France later claims it.
    French saw no real purpose.
French family imported Indian, and African slaves. Mauritius and Reniun island similar language.
French elites left. The Creole population stayed.
    Great Britain claimed this.
In 1965 they bought the islands for 30 million dollars.
US built a military base their to defend against India for the Cold War if they turned red. 1967 the whole population was moved off the Island.
They had a language, culture, ethnicity, and even a church.
Today around 10,000 left. The rest populating the Seychelles, and the Mauritius (70%) and many have gone to the United Kingdom.
The one in Mauritius are integrated better because of the commonality of the Creole culture.
Used for troop deployment into Middle East.
Island of Diego Garcia. It might be returned after the US’s lease.

As you know India got big plan in the Indian ocean and I don't see them going back there again or I'm sure if mauritius win the island will be least to India. And most of these people because of there African origin they had been discriminate against. I wish that the British government take responsibility and help them build their lives that they well deserved. There's a very nice lady in Scotland that did a lot of research about them.

I might be ignorant but I don't think the Chagossians themselves are native to the island. I mean, they were French slaves, and brought from Africa by boat, just like most African-American were brought to America as slaves. Unlike other natural migrations of indigenous peoples (eg Native Americans who have resided in the Americas since human migration out of Africa and Asia). If this island belongs to someone and not the British, I think the Maldives is the right owner, because the Maldivian are already there to use it for plantations and fishing.

India will want Diego Garcia to counter the Chinese commercial/naval port in Pakistani
Baluchistan and the other port that the Chinese are building (have finished building?) in

They did'nt really qualify as natives because they arrived there in the age of European colonialism, still forcibly removing them does complicate the issue, but it doesn't sound like there's really room for them anymore. I understand that loosing their land and community would be difficult but as long as they're being treated fairly where they are they may just have to move on with lives and make the best of things.

  • @spartacusrex3588

Truth is the british decide to take the chagos from Mauritius in exchange of their independence and offered 3m as compensation. However, you can't sell an island which is occupied by native people. The chagosians were deported against their will. Their home were destroyed and animals killed. The UN rules are clear about these situation. You can't seperate a country like that. The UN has rule against China for doing so, against the appropriation of an island belonging to another country. If UN is not bias, they have to accept that Mauritius has the sovereignty of chagosians and not UK.

I am the Mauritian born guy living in South Africa...............what the Chagos will be used for in the next 20 years: Simple, it is about 3 hours away by plane from India, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria and the Arab gulf. Next best option would probably be the island of Guam........20 hours away by plane! The Chagos is also extremely important for the security of the South East Indian Ocean.......and with that............the security of all of the Western Coast of Australia! Forget giving the place back to the islanders...............instead give them a choice of becoming US, UK or Australian nationals. Together with that create a pension fund with 5 billion US$ capital and pay each of the 10,000 Chagossians, US$ 100,000 up front and a monthly pension from the remaining 4 billion. To the Mauritian Government you pay 1 billion US$ for them to end all sovereignty claims.
So for 6 billion US$ Chagos problem solved........10,000 extremely happy Chagossians.....now US, UK or AUS citizens!
Half the price of the wall! And if the Mauritian Government drags its heels, just invade the island and make it British or US territory............then you will have over 1 million happy Mauritians! The 300,000 remaining ethnic Indian ruling class can be sent back to India, if that would be their preference!
My guess is they will all grab US or UK citizenship instead!
I will choose to settle in Florida...........or Arizona...........or even Texas.........thank you very much!
GOD Bless you for your extremely well made videos.......!

Monty, the Chagossians, in the big picture , are a small problem. 20 years from now, there might be a US that is barely just recognizable from what it currently is..............and the ones hiding under the umbrella of all this are the Australians.................without ongoing UK and US support in defense matters, these guys will not exist for long...........they are destined be invaded by their more than 1/2 billion moslem neighbors crammed in confined territories, just north of their borders. The American Base in the Chagos is also very much about its proximity to the middle -east and the massive logistical advantage that this location provides for the area under consideration. As for the Mauritian govt......they can't use the Chagos other than for tourism and/or fishing.............but they could use education grants and work permit opportunities for their population in the US;UK;AUS;NZ @ Canada. So, yeah................for the price of just a few aerial sorties over the Middle-East..........the Chagos problem can be made to go away for at least the next 20 years.......if not for ever!

Buddy, i knew about the Chagos because the Slave Trade was actually held along the Indian Ocean and not West Africa.
It's Deutsche-Hollandisch History. They took the Pagans (Nword, Tri Racial Aboriginals, Coloreds, Austronesians, Blacks).
    They are 100% Indian.
You are 30 40 years late and I've been telling you this for many years.
The slaves of color were always documented as being the Pagans. Not African Slaves as falsely reported by Americans and UK
    Lost Cause History.
The language they speak is literally called N word! That's why you've never heard of it. It's a global Asian indo language. Like a global Kreol language.
Example: Yes is Ja just like in Deutsche.
They say Wit(tey) for White(s) and the Dutch say Wit(te).
Jew(s) is Djoe or Djoeka'. Moor is More and is a civilized N word.
They are not new and far from it. Find yourself a Dutch library and every thing you need to know about them is all layed out in books that existed before the slave trade and why they were chosen. Again, the slave trade was 90% Europeans (Coloni) and 8% N word and 2% other Asians.
But all slaves regardless where they came from were Orientals because even Europe is in the Orient.
Point being there were no Races only Asians.
You see, they are EURASIAN ABORIGINALS, Kanaka!!!!
Stop saying their language is due to contact with Europeans when fact is they are "Mother" to all men.
