The thing I love the most about Matt is that he lets his dancers vibe at the end and do what feels natural and what flows. You can see the individual personality of each dancer come out that way and that’s what I like to see. No robots and cookie cutter safe routines. Each person puts their own spin to his choreography.

What I love about Matt dancing is that you see him paying attention to the others, you see him look at his partners all the time. That shows that not only is he a great dancer but a really great person as well.

So I used his racial background for others to know who I was talking about. What would be stereotyping is to say he's African American so automatically, he danced the best. As a minority, I'm not going to get mad when people use my racial background as description to other people while trying to identify me as I am proud of my background. What hurts is hearing people use my racial background as a way to link a negative attribute (stereotype) to me. So yes we should be conscious of our words but also think critically whether a person's intentions were racist or descriptive.
