Albon read the room and took a guaranteed seat. He also has a great relationship at Williams. When you have so many others waiting in the wings, its probably a good move.
Exactly. And I'm sure James doesn't want Williams to just be a launching pad for rookie drivers. They'll never move up the grid that way.

I heard Newey doesn’t rate Toto and Toto the boy who cried Wolf has pull over at Williams these days. So, I would be inclined to think Newey wants no parts of Williams 🤷🏾
@@Shabec2982 that's bit of a stretch, if Williams offer Newey a part of the team that's some reasonable pull.
Alex didn't show his true minerals during his time at team Max.. but hes the real deal in my humble opinion, i just hope for his sake williams improve enough to let him show it.

Great news and hard work with growing pains lead to success becomes a true F1 Story. Also makes him more expensive from loyalty (with options of course). But thenif Newey joins Williams with equity that would be something very very special. Unlikely but in my world that would happening and Liam Lawson would replace Logan.
A lot is going to change and improve under Vowels and Pat Fry but the lag in terms of on-track performance is the question mark.
I don’t see that Albon, as good as he is, had a lot of options either. He’s made the better choice.
Something has been going on over there at Williams. I absolutely adore that team principle they have over there. They are seriously trying to pull it up out of the mud back there. They srnt mucking about.

Williams are lucky to have to have Albon. He is a much better driver than Max, on any given day.
No.... Why would he go backwards to the bulls that are Blue/Red.
Clearly he doesn't have a future at the Bulls....He is too much of a smooth operator....Bulls like rough and tumble players like Checko ...Speaking of which why is it hardly talked about the role that Checko played in the so-called 2021 Championship given to Verstappen! Checko did Max all kinds of favor for the whole time he was racing with bulls that season not least in that final race.
If it wasn't for Checkos role in disrupting Ham in almost every race I guarantee you the race wouldn't even go down to the final race!
A multi year contract in a mediocre car and team ? I understand the driver market is crowded but this was his only option ?
Red Bull probably wouldn't sign him. The most he'd get at Mercedes is one year. Audi are chasing Sainz. Ferrari & McLaren have no available seats. So where else does he go, HAAS?

Albon is not worth the ink.
Williams is perfect for Alex. No offense but Alex is a safe, consistent but low ambition driver. He will just succumb to the pressures and expectations in a big team. Williams is kinda perfect. Lower rung team with genuine tryers but really not serious competition for the top guys and never will. It will provide Alex with a good work life balance. Not everyone has the mental prowess to handle pressure like a max verstappen
What if...what if Alex has a little bird at Red Bull Racing and knows Adrian's plans....😳🙄 Adrian to Williams....I can see it.
