      @TheBooban Před 4 lety

      It doesn’t work for me. Tailored my jeans so they fit perfectly but the end lost its tapering and flared out. Cant tailor a blazer because all off the racks have a back roll (very common and you cant spot because its right under your shoulder) and my chest is built so all lapels pop to a point. Both jeans and jacket are impossible to find off the rack in a good fit.

    • @gentslounge
      @gentslounge  Před 4 lety +2

      TheBooban thats unlucky my man. The back roll and chest issues may be due to your posture. A good tailor can take out the back roll but you may need to size up to fix the chest. As for the denim, look for something with a little stretch to keep the taper tight. I have some jeans that after a few wears fit a whole size bigger.

    • @TheBooban
      @TheBooban Před 4 lety +1

      Gent's Lounge the tailors in my area dont seem inclined to fix those issues or it would be too costly. Then i have to consider bespoke. Yeah, jeans fit perfectly then after a while too big. I hear the saggy ass jeans issue is because the elastic wears out quickly. Fabric softener hastens this. The jeans length is tricky. If you check pants with waist 30..they always have length 32. I need length 30. Strangely, larger waists often have more lengths, all the way down to 28. Yeah, saving up for bespoke jeans.

    Thank you so much for the advice on this video! I purchased a lovely Ted Baker suit a few months ago, in preparation for my Staff party. I watched your video for some insight on tailoring particularly on the pants, as i prefer my pants to be much slimmer fit and tapered towards the calf down, as i'm a slim individual. Even listened to the advice on the blazer. I took my suit to a tailorer who made all the adjustments i wanted to my pants (smaller pant opening, shorten the length so i had a no break style to show of my shoes, taper from the calf down so it didn't flare out and even made some tweaks to my blazer).
    It all fit brilliantly and i was given a lot of compliments at the party as the suit fit well and i went with some additional accessories (pocket square and lapel pin) to further bring out the look.

    Great video with great examples George! Would it be possible to have a tailor on-video to explain to us what he/she did to accommodate your needs in a future video? Thanks!
    Anyway on a Korean forum I frequent there was a discussion on tailoring, and the general consensus was to buy clothes that fit best off the rack and avoid tailoring when possible! Well that and if that's not possible, then finding out exactly what you want and finding a tailor who will cater to your needs is next best, as mentioned in this video. By the way, what do you think of using on-site tailors for new clothes? That's usually I how I get my garments to fit in length/width tailored first, and find the local tailor for any further alterations I need.

    One issue I encountered recently was the associate/styler at Indochino saying that they can't slim more in the upper leg because of the type of fabric which made sense to me because I would think that pants with stretch in the fabric would be ideal for slimming as much as possible. Does that sound like something you would agree with? I've noticed that you like to slim (again, as much as possible 😆) which is something I like to mirror in my own styling and would love your take on that.

Left and right you see clearly, that there is too less material. So it gets an unnatural look. The shoulders are also a problem, but this might be before tailoring already. Over all...the blue one is an example how NOT to tailor a suit...

    Good advice but not everyone has that athletic type of build which is easier to fix and fit suits. Those who have gravity and the good life affect the midsection it is more difficult to go your route. Tried it with MensWarehouse and JosB with mix results. The cost of alterations was more than the suits themselves. I've tried MTM with better results but still there is that learning curve they go thru to get it right. JESUS CHRIST loves you and you matter so much to Him!
    • This is the Gospel:
    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
    John 3:16‭-‬18 KJV
    GOD sent His only Son, JESUS CHRIST, born of a virgin, conceived by the HOLY SPIRIT, to reconcile humanity with Him. By His blood all of our sins are forgiven, and by His wounds we are healed. Jesus Christ has saved humanity (everyone that believes in Him) from eternal damnation in hell, which we all deserve because of our sins. We have all broken the 10 commandments, which is God's law.
    There are no "good" people in this world. The Bible says we have all sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD (Romans 3:23). If you think you are a “good” person then that means that you are morally excellent. I will ask you the following:
    1.) Have you ever told a lie in your whole life?
    2.) Have you ever stolen anything (even if it was small or despicable of its value) or have you ever kept something that doesn't belong to you?
    3.) Have you ever used God’s name in vain? An example of this is when you get surprised or amazed by something and say God’s name. It is in vain because you use it as an expression, not because you are addressing God in prayer or talking about Him.
    4.) Jesus Christ said that whoever looks upon a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28), have you ever looked with lust?
    5.) The Bible says that whoever hates his brother is a murderer (1 John 3:15), have you ever hated someone?
    Beloved person who is reading this:
    If you are guilty of these sins then, you are a liar, a thief, a blasphemer, an adulterer, and a murderer.
    Now you can see how guilty you are and that you are not a “good” person; you deserve eternal punishment just like all of us.
    as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
    Romans 3:10‭-‬12 KJV
    We humans cannot do anything to save ourselves from God’s wrath; we have all broken God’s law. It is not enough to apologize to God for our actions because without shedding blood there is no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22). Even though we cannot do anything to be redeemed, with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
    Jesus Christ lived a perfect and sinless life fulfilling God’s law perfectly. Even though He never sinned or did anything wrong, He died for us, sinners; God’s wrath and justice were satisfied completely in Him.
    But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 KJV
    Jesus Christ reconciled us with God. Your job is to do three (3) things. First, you have to ask God for forgiveness and repent for all of your sins. This means to turn away from your sinful lifestyle. You cannot claim be a christain and still live a sinful life. Second, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This means to put all of your faith and trust in His expiatory work on the cross (not to trust your own “righteousness” or “good works”). Third, you need to be born again.
    It is Written:
    Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
    John 3:3 KJV
    The phrase “born again” literally means “born from above”. It is a change in your heart made by the Holy Spirit when He transforms you into a new creation. He makes a regeneration in your heart making you a child of God.
    When He does this, you start hating sin and unrighteousness. You also start praying, reading the Bible, going to Church, loving God and living for Him alone. All of your sinful and carnal desires are extinct because you literally are transformed into a new creature.
    This is a big miracle!
    Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
    2 Corinthians 5:17
    Please, seek God while He can be found. 150,000 humans die every day and the majority of them believe that death is far from them. Do not last another single second without accepting Jesus Christ in your life. The spirit of death doesn’t ask you any permission to take your life; he just simply takes it.
    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    John 14:6 KJV
    Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
    Isaiah 55:6‭-‬7 KJV
    JESUS CHRIST IS COMING VERY SOON!
    God is one in being and three in person:
    FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT.
    It is too perfect for us to understand. By faith we accept it. May the LORD JESUS CHRIST bless you always.
