They filmed Free Guy in Boston, which is where Chris Evans lives. Ryan called Chris and essentially said "would you want to be a cameo in this movie where we pull out the Captain America shield?"
They set up a camera in a restaurant, Chris showed up, they bought him a coffee (that he's literally drinking in the film) and did the whole thing in 10 minutes. Legend.

Ryan reynolds texted Chris asking if he wanted to do a cameo, and miraculously he just happened to be in the neighborhood, so he showed up, and the whole thing was done in 10 minutes.

funny story - chris was filming something else near by and they asked if he could make a quick cameo - basically he said if i can be in and out in like 15 min YES - so he came, filmed that one scene, and went back to his movie LOL

True story - Free Guy was filming in Boston at the same time Chris Evans' show Defending Jacob was filming. When Disney gave Ryan the OK to use Cap's shield in the movie, Ryan called Chris personally to ask him to cameo in Free Guy. Chris agreed, so they filmed his "What the shit?!?" on a day off between Defending Jacob shoots.

I know someone has already pointed out that yes, the masked man that Molotov Girl got her info from was voiced by Hugh Jackman. But, what isn't pointed out is that Jackman and Shawn Levy, the director of this film, worked together for the movie "Real Steel" (2011), to which Jackman was directed by Levy. If you haven't seen "Real Steel", I highly advise checking it out. You may like it.
