Well, I hope they fix their colour-grading next seasons. Why are people following the desaturated ugly and muddy look? I don't know anyone who likes it. Bring back life to your image as it was back in season 1-4 of GOT
Alicent hellbent on proving that Rhaenyra's 3 kids are not from Laenor
whose is it then
They’re very strong boys
Shame detective Ned Stark isn't around with his amazing skills of deduction.
well i mean you just need eyes to proove it lol not really smart on rhaenerya part
well they clearly arent
Sad how Alicent and Rhaenyra's friendship broke because they both have their own duties. Very realistic and emotional. I'm really excited for this show and what comes next.
Their friendship ended because Rhaenyra betrayed Alicent's trust and lied to her.
@@SetsunaKai5 their friendship ended when Alicent became the queen and married Rhaenyra’s her father. This was a power grab.
@@SetsunaKai5 I agree, at least in the series, we can see that Alicent is still trying to still be Rhaenyra's friend; she actually told the king that she thinks that Rhaenyra is saying the truth when the rumors about Daemond and Rhaenyra came to light, I tought that they were going to become friends again, until Rhaenyra told the King to get Otto out of KIng's Landing. I think that Alicent was blaming herself for what happened to her father and when Ser Criston Cole told her about what happened between him and Rhaenyra, she chose not to want Rhaenyras friendship anymore. In my opinion that was the moment when the friendship was finally broken, tha's why she wore that dress the night Rhaenyra was getting married, not just to pissed off the KIng, but specially to show Rhaenyra that she was no longer someone she can trust; kind of like devclaring herself as an enemy to Rhaenyra's claim for the throne.
Nah this is all on allicent
@@SetsunaKai5 wrong, Rheanyra never lied, she omitted, Rheanyra wouldn't had to omit if Allicent hadn't betrayed her first, remember allicent had been doing viserys for months before he asked her not to tell Rheanyra, allicent is the root cause objextively
I like this take of Alicent. She is the more emotional, anxiety-fused and mentally vulnerable one out of her and Rhaenyra. To be honest, this is relatable. This also makes her villainous antagonistic motivation more reasonable. Must be really sad tho to be in Alicent’s position, always living in fear, melancholy and anxiety. She is as much of a villain as she is a victim.
Lol. Alicent a villain? What a hot take. (Rhaenyra can and should put her entire family to death once Viserys is gone.)
Exactly.
@@rowiemaebediot5450 simplistic way to describe it.
She is not a villian.
she is a victim trying to survive and keep her children alive.
Larys is definitely coming off as a Littlefinger, bringing about strife and chaos to up his position.
I feel like Larys is gonna Dwarf Littlefinger and Varys though. His charisma is very unsettling and he appears to have no moral compass guiding him. Only his personal desires. He's like Qyburn and Tyrion put together.
Littlefinger was a genius, larys is not in his level.
I can see where Alicent is coming from. She didn't want the destiny her father planned, but she obeyed it anyway.
She supported Rhaenyra at first but became disillusioned seeing Rhaenyra carelessness and getting away with doing what she likes but at everyone's expense. Similar to Ned's feelings towards Joffrey, Alicent believes Rhaenyra doesn't stand for honor and decency; not an example for the Queen. Alicent wants her kids legitimized not because she wants power, but because she did everything right and knowing Rhaenyra is not one to follow the rules and can kill them. Alicent has a touch of Ned and Cersei.
I like how clubfoot is the opposite of his brother: his brother has strength and he has wisdom
N his is stupid, destroying his own house to further his personal advances….
Lol he regret all his decision 😅🤣
There is a difference between wisdom and low cunning.
I think the near manic frustration over being the only one who realizes the heir apparent has three bastards secretly in line of succession is what drives her to try and knife Rhaenyra
Everybody with a functional eyesight knows. They just don't care enough especially since Laenor openly claims them. She's just frustrated on how she must endure all the rules while Rhaenyra just dance her way to the iron throne.
This scene of the knife is because Lucerys (Rhaenyra second son) took Aemond's eye (Alicent third son) with a dagger and Alicent want an eye for eye.
@@mimisunshinelove That, and Viserys would have your tongue ripped out if you say the B word in his earshot.
There's something else that happens that might push her in that direction.
Literally Ned Stark knowing Robert's kids were bastards born of incest, and he was never a villain 🤷♀️
For anyone unfamiliar with Olivia Cooke’s work, she’s been consistently brilliant in a bunch of films like Thoroughbreds, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, and Sound of Metal. And this clip alone really showcases why Olivia was picked for this role. And given where Alicent is now, her strength and confidence is beautifully conveyed by Olivia. Can’t wait for more.
Sound of Metal was so good 😭
I fell in love with her on Bates Motel
I know her from Ready Player One.
She was brilliant in little fish alongside Jack O'connel
Really great actor!
You honestly kinda feel for Alicent, seeing what she's been turned into. Brought to court, not as a person, but as an asset of political leverage for her house. Just seeing her life at King's Landing from a teenage girl into a grown woman, makes me think back to the original series and how bitter Cersei was for living a similar life.
Cersei has been spoiled of most of her life so she feels more privilleged and spoiled and she married Robert at her adult life, I guess but still not grateful because Robert is still missing Lyanna and also an alcoholic while Cersei has a secret relationship with Jaime.
Alicent has to marry Viserys on her teenage life and couldn't enjoy the rest of her teenage lifes like Rhaenyra due to her duty as King Consort. Also, Viserys still miss Aemma and even called Alicent as Aemma. But, she still respects Viserys no matter what and Viserys also respects her.
Olivia Cooke's voice is so elegant maan
Can't wait for her portrayal as Alicent
I like Olivia from the Bates Motel and Me Earl & the dying Girl days but the Emiley Carey did a great job in portraying Alicent's multilayered character!
The opinions on her acting are very divisive, I hear just as much praise as hate towards her performance.
@@6alcantara That's because acting is an art, and art is subjecti7e.
@@MarchAngeloPAlino nice
Though we have to remember that Emily is the younger more innocent version compare to the older colder one.
@@MarchAngeloPAlino there is some pretty objectively bad acting my man lol
i don't think people understand the younger actresses were chosen after them, it's supposed to be that way
I do appreciate that the show seriously made me feel for her at first. Looking forward to seeing the Dance begin.
“In all of kings landing, is there no one who will take my side?”
No Alicent cause your not gonna find any proof
Aemonds left eyes lookin a bit too comfy in that socket. Would be a shame if a "Strong" Boy got a little rough with him.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also would be a shame if Aemond spots him on his little dragon a few years later
Would be a shame if a strong boy isn’t strong enough to beat him in a one on one fight
😂😂😂😂
Aemond wasn’t even in this video wtf are you talking about 😂 I know you’re hinting at spoilers but at least make them relevant to the video bruh
That dude hasn't aged a day, good genes.
Ser Cole too, lol
_Strong_ genes
Seeing alicent on my screen should be considered community outreach I’m putting this down on my taxes
Olivia cooke 💚
The way I'm cackling😂😂
Right?
Whaaaaat?
Idk why this made me laugh so hard
GoT had Littlefinger. HOTD has Clubfoot. All these body part nicknames are so dangerous.
Olivia Cooke is going to absolutely devour this role 🔥
people in this comment section making it a little too obvious that they’ve not seen any of olivia cooke’s previous work because she is about to be one of this show’s *greatest* assets as alicent.
I don't understand why people keep complaining about the older versions of Alicent and Rhaenyra. I love young Rhaenyra (and Alicent) A LOT but even with make up it would be a joke to have 3 kids and in later seasons to be 30+. Now Emma will be the perfect age for Rhaenyra's portrayal !
Olivia Cook was perfect for this role ❤
She giving cersei lannister vibes
I can’t wait to see more drama. I’m loving this series❤️She is ‘not a happy camper’ here.
She's obviously using the excuse of "exposing" the children not being Leanor's (they're obviously not his, but nobody gives a damn and she's pissed at that lol) as an excuse to further the claims of her children to the throne. 'Cause what if they're not Leanor's, Rhaenyra is the heir to the throne, not Leanor. And if it's a question of "honor", Leanor seems very supportive of Rhaenyra and recognizes the children as his and he and Rhaenyra even named one after his dead lover, Joffrey.
Nobody gives a damn , the realm literally rebelled against rhaenyra bcoz of the bastards
Cause if Rhaenyras children are bastards, then they are last in the line of succession. Adultery is a crime and putting bastards ahead of trueborn children is treason. People would very much give a damn if it was proven, Corlys especially. Alicents children once again get screwed over, that's why Alicent is mad. But keep being biased against her.
Exactly. Bastards are only a problem if the father thinks the children aren’t his but Leanor knows it and is their so called true father to the public.
I love Alicent 😍💚
I can feel the tone shift in just this short clip. As much I like the younger actresses. The show is in good hands with Olivia and co. taking over.
Team black all day everyday 🔥🔥🔥
Olivia Cooke is an incredible actor and now everyone will know
excited for the next episode but really sad to see the other actresses go, they were amazing for the role and i believe its going to be really hard to find a perfect replacement that everyone likes. i hope they make appearances in later episodes through dreams or something.
The Younger Actresses were cast due to how similar they were to Emma and Olivia
The show just needed to establish all the background events in Season 1 before getting to the main story
I am going to miss the prior actress as she had some good acting that made you feel the emotions of the character. She along with the actor for Sir Christian Cole and the Valerian Sea King are my favorites in this show.
who is valerian sea king? can't recall character with that name.
yes, same.. young alicent was much better
Olivia is a very good actress and she was hired to be the adult Alicent. Alicent will be a grandmother by the end of the season. You have to get over it or stop watching it.
Mine too I was hoping to see her in more episodes 🙃🙃 I loved her
Dude you havent even seen Olivia cooke yet. Shes incredible. Trust is nowhere to be found nowadays.
whoever the actor that is playing clubfoot, he needs a pay raise. Clubfoot was a good character in the book, he's even better
Her voice are more loud than before. Young Alicent had a soft voice. But Rhaenyra, has a same vibes.
people that doubted Emma and Olivia's acting will eat their own words
Exactly, I totally agree. They don't know what's coming, and they underestimated the older actresses since they personally got attached with the first younger actresses.
Big doubt. This was terrible.
@@MrIStillDontCare it was better then you could you just mad they are successful while you ain’t nothing
@@MrIStillDontCare Lets act like the alicent/rhaenyra discussion near the tree wasnt terrible at all, "tHiS is a viLe aCcuSatiOn"
Milly had better chemistry with daemon, i like d"arcy, i love milly
Larys is gonna play her like a fiddle. He's quite comfy knowing he's secure right by her lonely side.
I'm so ready for the next episode with the new casts swap!
Larys is a snek for throwing his own brother under the bus.
Is there no one by my side?
No. Next question
Can't wait for the 6th episode 💯🔥🔥
Olivia Cooke as Alicent…wow such expressive eyes. I think she will be amazing 🔥🐍
I’m so excited Olivia finally gets to shine in Hotd. She’s been one of my favorite actresses for as long as I can remember.
I've been a fan of Olivia Cooke's amazing work since Bates Motel. With House of the Dragon, it's time for her to secure her first Emmy nomination.
In the books Otto Hightower is still alive during Dance of the Dragons bc he’s famously quoted for insulting her son(his grandson) Aemond and calling him a blind fool even though he still had one good eye. Love or hate Otto Hightower but the man knew how to hurl an insult.
He is alive in the show too
Otto still alive on the show, he only isn't the Hand of The King anymore.
Olivia Cooke already fits in and so does Emma D’arcy. Can’t wait for Sunday!
Emma D'arcy
I am really loving strong brothers.. complement each others just like Tyrion and jamie
Same. To me the best children and I love that they always protect each other
LOL after the development in latest episode
This aged well
@@chelseavalyria do you have to say anything now?
CERSEI LITTLEFINGER VIBES AND I LOVE IT.
Yall need to remember that Olivia and Emma were casted first, yes Milly and Emily did great jobs and they will be missed but These characters arent their roles, the show is just now truely starting, the first 5 eps were like a prologue in some kind of way.
House of the dragon is on another level 🔥🔥🔥
Their acting is so good ❤
"In all of King's Landing is there noone to take my side?"
"Who will rid me of this turbulent priest?"
Olivia Cooke is the cutest thing ever. But as Alicent Hightower my god she’s so damn scary looking LMAO.
Yeah especially when Alicent is supposed to be really gorgeous and high to the point that Rhaenyra feels insecure under her presence. But in the show it’s the opposite thing.
@@tbakhalid4781 nah olivia looks gorgeous
@@yolo8283 I would describe Olivia as cute but not gorgeous. Anyways the looks doesn’t matter anyways since she’s a good actress though.
From finger to foot, Ladies & Gentleman, Crab Foot.
Correction: Its Clubfoot
For those butt hurt about the actors being changed, the older actors were cast first.
Lol Alicent's voice got so much deeper. Puberty hit her hard.
This is like more than a decade later
Omg I cant wait for the next episode 🙌
I trust that both of the older actors will give great performances and portrayals of the characters but at the same time I'm wondering how hard it'll be to view them as just older versions of the same characters instead of completely different people because they litterally are lol.
Umm they’re actresses.. it’s what they do
Eu não consigo entender pq o irmão do Harwin vai ficar do lado dela sendo que os filhos da Rhaenyra são filhos do irmão dele... eles não se dão bem? No ep passado pareciam tão unidos...
Alicent says " In all of King's landing is there anyone to take my side"
What he heard: "I need someone to take out my enemies so I can get my dad back"
In retrospect Eddard Stark seemed obssesed with honor and traditions, but looking back at how Westeros used to be uptight about these concepts I get it now. Cersei really said, "nah" to hundreds of years of norms when she shredded the paper.
Not gonna lie, I’m loving Alicents character
Come to think of it, she's not really a bad person. She was brought into this game by her greedy father and now she has to play to protect her children
@@amitkenan3878 exactly yet there are people who view her as the villain while she isn’t
@@amitkenan3878 Don't say that until you see the rest of the story...
@@amitkenan3878 the thing is.... protect them from Rhaenyra? bcz she didn't want to harm her half siblings

*makes a woman who just gave birth come see her just to be petty*
yea i wonder why theres no one on your side
you're stupid, she just wanted to see the baby, and Rhaenyra came by herself
She wanted to see the baby. It was Rhaenyra's stubborn pride that made her go to see Alicent.
@@pyranomics7229 stubborn pride?!?!? thats her newborn baby 😭😭 aint no way she would let them take her baby
@@gwihan no one was "taking her baby". Granted it's a bit douchey to separate the baby from the mother. But in medieval times in royal circles, it's not uncommon for the baby to be given to wet nurses pretty soon. What Alicent did was not so out there.
@@pyranomics7229 okay and rhaenyra obviously didnt want her baby taken from her the moment he was birthed so like??? this wasnt like a wet nurse situation (and a lot of the times the birth mother was there with the wet nurse) alicent couldve waited but she didnt cause she wanted to exert her power of rhaenyra, thats all it is and everyone knows it.
Cant wait to see 6 episode 🎬 💙
I'm very excited for the time jump! however, Olivia's Manchester accent is quite noticeable here, and non-native speakers might struggle with her slightly rushed enunciation.

We are Iranian people who are fighting for freedom, please be our voice in all of the world
Wow so far so good with her performance
Beautiful Queen.💚
Laenor is cool with being their father in every way except biological, why is Alicent so pressed for nothing 😂
She’s pressed because she has no control over her own life and is jealous that others do, so she seeks to control them.
Because she want to destroy Rhaenyra and the Targaryens...
In their world paternity is important. I don't think bastards were supposed to be royalty
Because they are bastards and have no right to inherit the throne
Because it doesn't matter whether their father is cool with it or not. You all seem to view this fantasy medieval show through a modern lense with no understanding for the laws and rules of this world thinking it matters whether the father "is cool with it" . Putting bastards on the throne is fraud and treason. Alicent and her children are being cheated and that's what she is rightfully angry about
She's going to slay it.
No one takes your side because you are NOT the dragon
“he would be partial to me” babe that’s not better
It might not be, but think if you were in her shoes. She feels like she's in a den of snakes with no strong defender. Having an advocate would be pretty nice in her circumstances, biased or not.
Our green needs support
You made your bed, hon. Rot in it. #TeamBlackDress
When will it be available in hindi?
Alicent has changed 😎🙌🙌🙌
So the Strongs are in each of the Queens’ side eh? As Harwyn is obviously at Rhaenerya’s side in this power struggle. That would be cool to see
In the book he changed his thoughts when both his dad and brother died in harrenhall lol
Smart of HBO to release clips of the new Rhaenyra and Alicent. It sort of softens the blow before their introduction next episode. I still wonder why they didn't do the time jump at the end of 5, the whole cliffhanger with the King collapsing was immediately undermined by the promo showing a very much alive, if mad-looking, King Viserys.
I'm on your side muh queen 👑
gods! even the wine glasses are green!
Ugh. Alicent is giving some serious Cersei vibe.
Oh no, brace yourselves it’s here. Larys and Alicent duo will be so fcking toxic. The dude literally got under her skin last episode from saying how a flower shouldn’t be blooming 😬

Masterpiece...
Agora a cobra vai fumar
Rhaenyra couldn't have gotten a white haired lover Lmao?
“Oh won’t someone rid me of this troublesome priest!”
Big Daddy Otto is coming back as hand.
Alicent - the true Dragonsbane.
Had she not instigated the Dance of the Dragons, Aegon the III wouldn't have had to be traumatized by the idea of dragons.
Viserys instigated it by his stupid decision.
*Remember that the royal line is Rhaenyra's, not Laenor's. So it is technically irrelevant who the father is. The mother, Rhaenyra, is proclaimed heir to the Iron Throne, so technically and officially her firstborn and the rest of her children whether fathered by Laenor, Ser Harwin Strong, or anyone else, are in the line of succession ahead of Alicent's children.*
We’ll technically if it was proven or deemed that the children were bastards then based on the laws of the kingdom they do not inheritance rights over true-born children and even their right to title would be in question.
Ummm Alicent’s children are of King Viserys through a legitimate marriage. So yeah they’re very much Targaryen.
I don't know if that matters if they're born out of wedlock, though. That makes them bastards, and bastards don't inherit the throne.
Only applies to trueborn children. If Rhaenyra's children were bastards as Alicent suggests they would not be eligible to inherit.
Wrong. Children that her not from her husband (not born from marriage) are are not considered in line to the throne. Only children from her husband are in line to the throne. Children from any other man is considered illegitimate (out of wedlock) and not in line to the throne.
Here come the people who are gonna JUDGE & DISS the ACTORS without even watching the whole season.
She's a Cersei Lannister whose power can control everything without even using a finger but only a mouth. Rhaenyra can just burn u to ashes actually.
The only person who's going to burn is Rhaenyra...😂
