I miss “Sacred Ground” & the VIP bar. I left LA 4 years ago but spent a LOT of time at the club til 1-2am or later if a comic like Chappelle would drop in & decide to go up in the OR at midnight on a Monday (when the crowd had dwindled to 10-20 patrons, a handful of comics & staff) and just keep workin on material, just doing what Dave does, til 3am & later. Few people have had the honor to be there at the right time to experience such rare and awesome nights.
So many greats show up unplanned and work on new sets, ideas. Same for the audience, often sprinkled with some of your Hollywood favorites.
Always a great time unless the ghosts come at ya…🤓

Used to be where they would do cocaine? I've been in that green room many times(before covid times) and that is basically all that piano is used for from my experience, except for the time bo burnham was there and was wasted, barged in and started playing and singing random offensive shit, and that room is always hotboxed with weed/cigar smoke, a few people smoke some cigs. That room doesn't even have a window to let the smoke out.
It doesn’t have a window but it does have a door to the void between buildings. And of all my time spent back there the mirrored piano table(put in years ago for Pryor I’m told)remained free of powder but sure had an endless amount of joints, vapes, carts, bowls, etc… I love that it always smelled like weed basically from the sidewalk to the furthest corner inside. It is my favorite place to go on any random night. Never had a bad time at the Store.
