Leon looked so dialed in man, like 75 percent successful strikes at the end of round 3, and the takedown defense was amazing.
so weird how people are talking about masvidal as if he has a shot at beating burns lol
@@djt8870 not as wierd as people bringing up masvidal for absoloutly no reason, wtf has he got to do with this comment?
@@seldom_bucket just a little scrap Leon and Jorge had couple years ago backstage, and they want to settle the score in the cage. Hence the talk.
@@djt8870 he definitely does, burns is Chinny and wings punches from his hips. Burns should be favored but it wouldnât shock me if masvidal caught him with something.
@@djt8870 Even weirder is that people think Colby deserves a title shot. Dude has no wins over ANY ranked opponents that isnât a washed, overrated Masvidal that Usman finished and Colby couldnât. Leon was right.
Burns should get it if he beat Masvidal. Or the winner of Rakhmanov vs Belal if that fights successfully made. Colby needs to fight a top contender.
The kicks and knees were the difference tonight. Leon capitalised on every opening he had, Usman however did not.
It feels like some fans completely miss the kicks đ
I think in the later rounds he could have let go with his hands more against Kumaru when he was tired. Leon deserved the win. Usman did very little to hurt Leon.
âUsman however did notâ. đ Okay sir.
@@generalkunta396 usman didnât look like himself tonight I think age is catching up to him. He was so worried about taking another head kick that he didnât check a single leg kick and basically left his body open for 90 percent of the fight so Leon was welcome to just blast him with body kicks
His defence was unreal. Usman has good striking against the likes of Jorge because they fear the TD but Leon shuts it down completely.
I was shocked how easy Leon made that look. I never thought we'd see someone stifle Usman's wrestling/grappling like that. The only question is was it because father time has finally caught Usman or Leon is just that guy? My gut says Leon is that guy. Hell of a performance!
Both but all credit to Leon, as mama Woodley said "It's not his time anymore, it's your time."
Leon is the man, even with the point deduction I thought he won convincingly. 4-1 on my card, could also have been 5-0 or 3-2 but I had Leon up regardless
Usman hasn't used his wrestling offense as much as he used to do because Trevor Wittman made him more of a striker. And Edwards always had a good takedown defense, which got better with time.
He came back way too soon. Kamaru shouldâve taken a year off before coming back. If he got tkod different story but getting knocked out cold does so much damage. Similar to Stipe when he fought dc the first time
@@alcottdevalte7440 It's not just the takedown defense, it's how easily he was able to scramble and get up every single time when Usman is known for having the strength to hold anybody in the division down including their 2nd fight. Leon severely increased his scrambling and groundwork.
crowd chanting "headshot dead" probably helped remind kamaru to keep his hands up
Exactly what I was thinking
I was saying this too when I was hearing the chantâŠ
Glad to see Bisping defending our boy! He definitely won, but I understand the how the point deduction made things messy.
Trash Herb. Leon deserved point deduction but Usman in all of his fights and all of his cheating always got a pass.
By Herb Dean.
In fairness to DC,he was saying *bearing in mind the point deduction* I thought it could be a draw.
So he was only 1 round off. (It was 4-1, DC thought it was 3-2)

â@@imma5761 Defs counting on one of the brothas to help him out.
@@realMaverickBuckley yeah, i initially thought it was a draw too because of the point deduction, definitely a close one
Dc saying he feels like it was a draw no way that wrestling bs gotta stop Leon won by a lot and Bisping called it that Leon out classes usman
â@@DW-bz2piusman tried to wrestle, but Leon just got back up
dc still traumatized by Jones
Nah should have been a draw realistically, usman won the third round 10-8 and won the 4th pretty clearly
â@@Ollie121299OnPC the 4th? No shot bro I thought he grabbed the 3rd
@@Ollie121299OnPC good thing u were not the judge for that fight then đ€Ą
Anik is one of the biggest assets in the UFC. Always on point with everything he says and how he delivers it
Should make a hall of fame for him. Best there is.
jon ank
The way Leon was using both hands to control one hand of Usmans was revolutionary. I hope more stand up fighters utilise this and we get less snorefests
It's needed as well, Leon's waist and hips are tiny, he's a proper v-taper physique. Makes locking those hands even easier.
He'd make a great natty bodybuilder!
leon's takedown defense was masterful to watch, usman had no answer after his takedowns was defended. he feeds off those takedowns to implement his ground and pound, striking on the foot
Half decent. He got caught holding on the cage
Foot strikes lol
Straight up it was
@BLACK BULL usman at least beat him once. Izzy is 0-3 and he better win on April 8th otherwise he should consider retirement
On the foot? Does he hobble when hes striking? đ
Tbf to DC, he thought he got a draw in the second Jones fight
Haha
A draw is an absolutly reasonable scorecard. I scored it that way when I watched the fight and one ref did so aswell
@@thenotoriousm0e852 and two others saw it otherwise and the majority also see it otherwise and only really consider it a draw due to a point loss
@@Igvga Yeah I consider a draw only due to the lost point aswell. Otherwise it would be Leon winning
@@thenotoriousm0e852 same here if it went to a draw I wouldâve understood for the point deduction but I still had Leon winning
I thought Leon looked nervous walking to the cage but he was just super focused. Great performance đđ»
I thought he looked and sounded nervous during the whole build up, maybe he's most comfortable in the octagon
Exactly
I thought he looked nervous right until the moment Usman walked across the octagon. He did the headshot sign, smiled and just seemed to wake up from there.
That's something about Leon. His voice is shaky and he doesn't appear to handle stress well. I think it's in his nature. His performance in the octagon is nonetheless superb. It's like his mind works in fight or flight mode all the time and he is constantly hyper-aware unless he is physically exhausted
ALL USMAN FANS ARE A BUNCH OF CAUSALS WHO STARTED WATCHING AFTER HE KNOCKED MASVIDAL OUT TYPICAL AFRICAN AMERICAN FRUITY MEN. WE BRITISH BLACKS ARE SMARTER STRONGER AND BETTERrrr

Our man Leon didn't even get out of second gear. Cruised to victory easy
Thatâs a stretch
@@flizzy4645 not a stretch at all. usman with EPO couldnât even keep leon down. 2/14.
Leon wasn't even that tired. Usman on the otherhand was.
What special did LeĂłn do in the championship rounds.. He just did enough to win.
@@flizzy4645 leon was breathing through his nose in the post fight interview, usman was gasping for air. Say no more
Iâm so happy Rocky beat him by decision lmfao really shut all the haters down now.
Letâs have a moment of silence for all the leon haters who put their money on Usman đ
It takes another black man to do it

I wish I could go back and see all the comments saying "it was just a lucky KO Usman is getting the belt back easy"
Great use of leg kicks and clinch work by Leon, his takedown defense has grown TREMENDOUSLY. But I donât think Jorge should get a title fight unless he wins a fight, Colby just dog walked him and he got KOâd before that đ either Durrihno when he wins or Colby. Leon is going to establish his dominance w/a win over any top 5 đ€
Masvidal shouldâve fought Khamzat. Would do big numbers and would grant an undeniable title shot. Khamzat would probably maul Jorge.
Thing with masvidal itâs personal for Leon
Dana already said itâs Colby
@@Igvga yea we all know that, but Masvidal continually declined the fight saying he was under him. I want Leon to get his get back but not giving Jorge another payday đ heâll never shut up about how much he made from it win or lose
Masvidal won't get past gilbert burns in the first placeđ
So happy for leon. Those kicks and take.doen defence where fantastic.
Leon switched his style just like Rocky did in his second fight with Apollo Creedđ
Rocky didn't switch, he trained to but refused saying "No tricks"
â@@thet-rex4521 Rocky fought as a leftie until rnd 15 when he turned back to southpaw
@@iandixon9675 Nope his manager begged him to but he refused
Cormier hurting inside, can see it's paining him to try agree with the decision
Leon finally fought with no doubt in himself. As much as he called out that nobody believed in him, I think he even doubted himself somewhere inside before the 2nd fight. This time he was SOOOO dialed in and he knew he could defeat this man outright! He has always been talented and I'm sure he believed in himself the most, but he threw heat all night! Was a fun card and he put a stamp on his name CHAMP!
You'd be wrong about him doubting himself, I know Leon very well, been around him for years at renegade and lyons, he had no doubt in himself just to clear that up. He knew he had the capability to beat him and carried that with him, no doubtful or nervous energy this fight.
also has to do with the altitude difference in the second fight
@@quickbeats100 then what happened the first fight? he seemed like he was a bit lost in there
Not as experienced I'd assume.
Just got back from the arena it was incredible
Leon was so sharp what won it to me is his composure not panicking at all when usman throws his wild shots then shoots thatâs how he gets everyone down they donât stay composed well done rock đŻđ
Oh yes Usman so respectful and handled loss so well he missed post fight press conference
Those last 2 fights in particular were great
Leon looked phenomenal. Changing of the guard. Both were super humble afterwards, awesome show of respect. Covington has no business in the title picture. Talk about Dana White Privilege
cardio on leon was crazy
Bisping made DC look completely objective tonight lol
English pride baby!

1:45 "DC- your never gonna wipe usman out"
đ€Šđœsomebody show the fifth round of the second fight for DC đ
Leon was wiped that whole fight.. then got a KO.
Finally the division is a mixed-up bag of nuts, and everyone needs to bow down to Leon Rocky Edwards
Bisping is a great character commentator. Love him!
DC salty because he canât believe that wrestling didnât prevail for once and Bispings bias was pretty evident throughout the whole fight, was giving Usman zero props and was fangirling over his fellow Countryman pretty obviously. Only acceptable commentators are Anik, Rogan and Cruz, whoâs only miss was that moment with Conor vs Khabib.
Evens out so I donât mind tbh
Dc is just too sided all the time. I don't like listening to him
Yeah agree ..
Yea Bisping had to be biased cuz dc kept talking about usman n if u think about it the judges are listening to the commentary and it might affect the scoring a close round so him and dc contradicting makes things equal
lol Rogan is the most bias of all, sucking his Diaz fleshlights every time they fight
The funny thing is that I knew DC would cry before hearing the audio đ oh God. Makes me like Jon Jones more đđ
I've watched it back again now, and even though it was close, had Usman been given the win, it would've been a robbery. A lot of people may have scored it a draw given the point deduction, which I think is totally understandable, but there's no way Usman could've left the cage the winner last night.
The fight sucked
Them kicks were so nice
Bisping, "this is getting stupid now" had me dying laughing đđđ
Give Bisping the interviews!!!
The takedown defense was such a big part of this fight and since Leon defended something like 70% of the takedowns means he can allow his striking to shine and boy did he do just that
DC is so sour it's obvious he just lost a massive bet on Usman winning đ
Commentators canât bet on fights. Heâs homies w Usman, a fellow D1 wrestler. Just sad to see a fellow friend (and lifetime wrestler) lose. Simple as that.
@@TheEskimeaux he shouldnât be commenting. They need to give him a new job I like DC but even he admits he is biased

I was rooting for Leon and am glad he got the job done, as for usman i hope heâs still a major figure in the division. If he is going to retire in a couple of years I donât know, I hope he can still remain impactful and at the top of the division.
Usman vs khamzat
I think if Belal gets past Shavcat then youâd do Belal v usman. Good fight for usman to come back to.
Uzzie the gatekeeper of 170
Usman should retire now hes been talking for years how much it drains time from with his family. I think he's skilled but he's not focused and the guy is probably set for life already.
@@deliacolquhoun2845 khamzat cant make welterweight hes a middleweight
So glad the judges didn't screw Leon over. Two of the judges were bang-on with their scoring for every match on the main card and undercard all night long, hopefully, they continue judging

Bisping's reaction to Seal đ
Great job fellas!
I am so happy for Leon man!!!Great fighter and very kind person!!
I think we can all agree that the altitude in their last fight was clearly a huge factor. Leon is a special fighter man.
one thing I feel like people arenât also adding into the performance of Leon was his side to side movement, Kamaru had alot of trouble keeping up with his footwork because of those knees man and Leon moves well
this is the funniest post fight analysis ever
Usman has solid wrestling/boxing but if he were to add submissions and Muay Thai round kicks he would evolve into a whole new savage
Yea but I think he's done though he had already talked about plans to retire and now he has knee problems I think he might be on a spiral
thats the biggest problem of Usman. He can take down anyone but he has no jiu jitsu or submissions
Leon was saying âOn my worst day he couldnât finish meââŠ.. it was just no one really knew how bad of a night he was actually having the first fight. He was telling the truth apparently.

I want Edward's to slap up Masvidal next, and Edward's wants it too.
Id love to see him submit McGregor after he's battered George. Love to see how Judas gets on when he can't sucker punch Leon.
Leon would win that easily which is why the ufc wont make it. Colby or even anyone else would make more sense
I don't, Masvidal don't deserve a titleshot
@Mnr Black agreed... but he deserves putting in his place at Leon's hands after his assault. Competitors talk to each other backstage, yet Jorge thought it was OK to scar up Leon's face? Nah! Let us MMA fans all allow Leon to get that one by publicly supporting it lol. Leon is OWED that... even if he isn't confident enough yet to dictate it.
â@@concorde3980 why would he fight McGregor? I'm pretty sure McGregor is fighting at 185 Vs chandler

Dc lookin like someone took away his dinner plate as he's boutta go to town, the bias DC has is nuts
DC so salty ahaha
No
The way Leon looked in that fight vs Usman makes me think he's unstoppable vs the likes of burns Masvidal and Colby. I really think he's on another level to these guys. Leon vs khamzat if he can make weight
Even after the kick in the 2nd fight I myself still doubted Leon but he really outclassed usman in this fight. Never thought Id even be considering Leon is the best in the division
Love how DC got humbled he fully thought edwards had no chance
Yeah DC is annoying sometimes especially how biased he is with the dagestani dudes

Usman looked aged and the leg kicks only made it worse great work by edwards was never really hurt stopped 75% of usmans takedown , usman was pressuring and controlling the octagon but not Landing much probably thinking edwards would tired quicker but edwards remainder disciplined and kept leg kicking and throwing the jabs then keeping his distance EASYLY landing shots in all levels. Only thing about leon is he fouls too often and alot and he is up he plays it safe the final minutes but aye he winning GG ANDSTILL !
Yeah but Usman has also faked fouls many times in his fights and fouls himself when he needs a breather or better position. At least thats what it looks like. He did it twice this fight but luckily Goddard wasnt the ref so he got a warning once and was told to continue fighting the other time.
@@juangringo3906 he did it last fight too where he pretends to get kicked in the nuts but got kicked clean in his gut n needed time to breathe

Stop it dc
I think the surgeries and injuries have taken a tole on Usman. He's done, i can see him retiring after this one. The division is interesting right now, because as much hate Colby gets, he would probably be favourite against Edwards, as Colbys output is way more than others and has great wrestling. Belal also deserves a chance aswell.
He lost to the better man, he isn't done. He can fight chimaev or Muhammad next and a win gets him back up there

It was definitely a close fight and I was rooting for Usman to beat/dominate Leon and regain the title by decision, but Leon hands down has beaten Usman in this trilogy matchup, landing the more significant and damaging shots and showed good takedown and wrestling defense and ability to quickly scramble back up when taken down
Usman was rocked a few times in that Octogon! Those kicks were hurting him!
