    Every night for the last two weeks I have been watching a episode of scrabble!! This was one of my favorite game shows to watch growing up!! It came on during The Price is Right so I can remember always flipping back and forth between the two shows!!

    I used to always laugh when a contestant got a stopper and my folks would be like “you think it’s funny?” I’d keep laughing until it got to the point where my poor mom would be like enough already!!! No more!!

      Way better than “Scrabble Showdown” with Justin Willman on the Hub/Discovery Family. “Scrabble Showdown” ran for two seasons, because of the MLP phenomenon.

    Chuck Woolery hosted the Big Spin in 1985, at this point in 1989, the show was hosted by Geoff Edwards. Alzalee's Big Spin appearance was on 6/24/1989 and she won $20,000, as per a web search to an LA Times article. Scrabble moved to 10AM EST on 3/27/89, and it was airing at 10AM by this point as the NBC News At THis Hour update is at the beginning of this video.

      @@adamsteinhart1504 Alzalee won $20K on the California Lottery Big Spin, which in 1985 was hosted by Chuck Woolery but at this time was hosted by Geoff Edwards. She also played in the audience game on Joker's Wild in the 1982-83, but didn't win the qualifying spin

    @"shreknhavoc", yes, back in year 1989, this "Scrabble" game show had Mr. Charles "Chuck" H. Woolery as its previous host just as his former announcer there was late Mr. Arthur W. Ferguson [though professionally known as "Charlie Tuna"]!

    Nobody has mentioned this, but ever notice that sometimes the two tiles that were picked would spell two letter words? Examples: IT IN IS PU UP AT AN. Wonder if FU ever came up?

    Love this show. Chuck had a flub where he said 2 words in under 5 seconds. I am assuming if Eric hadn't gotten lacquer that standards & practices may have had to give him the money anyways.

    Blue squares were worth $500 while pink ones were worth $1,000. They should have included red squares worth $1,500.

      I think it was just easier for them to work with 2 colors instead of 4 (light blue, blue, pink and red).
