Man, oh man! I can't forget the sheer excitement that coursed through our veins when we got the news about visiting BIG! It was a thrill ride, and I'm stoked we got to share that experience. Gotta admit, we were a little jittery about everything, and it showed in some of our footage-kinda shaky, haha! But hey, we made it work, no doubt about it. You know what caught us off guard? The insane number of maquettes we saw at the BIG office. It was mind-blowing, dude!
I know!!! What an absolute crazy experience it was! We had less than an hour to prepare for everything, get all the questions prepared and camera gear packed. But we made it work! Next time we’ll make sure to turn on the internal stabilization of our cameras haha!
Can’t wait for our next adventure man!
6:45 - - *model shop w 3D printers + maquettes*
2:44 - - *software - - Rhino - - Enscape - - Lumion - - some Vray*
I love this Serious Process! Well done!
dude, people love this kinda content.... think about it.... who isn't curious about how BIG operates.. keep it up!
You guys (by guys, I mean you and Steven) have improved your visuals and presentation skills so much, it's impressive. Anyone who does graphics in design knows that it takes a long time to get these skills and even longer to understand how to implement them. I admire your chemistry as a team, working together rather than acting as competitors against each other. Both of you are doing great work in growing the architecture knowledge landscape and I want to thank you.
Thank you so much for the kind comment! It means a lot to me, and I know it also does for Steven. We put our hearts and souls into making the best videos we can and creating a community around them. So really, I appreciate all your support!
Great job with the interview. Great cameras, great content. I love the way you structured the entire video. Great job thank you.

What do you think of the Apple vision pro?
I notice something unique about all your videos. Apart from their great quality and content, the background music is totally soothing and not distractive unlike many other videos from other channels. I want you to keep using such kind of background music in your future videos as well.😊
Wow, thank you for noticing that! I too think that most videos have loud musics over voices, so I usually spend extra time on trying to fine tuning all volumes.
Thanks for the kind feedback 😁
I totally agree! Good job
i have been watching your collaborative portfolio videos with "show it better", watching his videos and also watching your videos hand in hand these past few weeks and for some otherwordly reason it's just clicking for me that you're the guy from the collaborative videos🤣🤣🤣🤣....my brain never made the connection fast enough
God! This was such a great thing to watch! You guys, and BIG, are awesome!
Thanks a lot!!! We we so excited to finally share this with you all. Appreciate the support!
Oliver, quando teremos um escritório desses chamado Upstairs?
Boa pergunta! haha ainda tem muito a se fazer por aqui, mas quem sabe um dia!
It might be interesting to look into StyleGAN it is machine learning and helps the designer in an inspirational way, but still has to be rationalized by the architect. Also the designer first hand selects images so is still very much in control
Que vídeo incrível!! Muito inspirador! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Valeu Rapha!!! 🙌🙌❤️
It's amazing bro, that video open my mind. Thank's so much!
Glad to hear that, Arthur! Thanks for the feedback!
la transcripción de los subtítulos en español a contar del 4:40 empiezan a ser en portugués
Absolutely insane. The South American boys rules

This is really helpful. Sometimes we closed our mind when thinking about those big architecture firms but it's good to know how it really works. Thanks you so much
Those were my exact thoughts after we finished the interview! We’re all on the same boat and trying to figure it out as we go. It’s just the scale of teams that may change a bit haha
Thanks for the feedback!
intetersting they dont use v-ray anymore. Can you make a new tutorial on how to make BIG diagrams with enscape?
Amazing video and insight. Thanks for asking all the questions I wanted to know! It really seems like a dream firm to work in
Thanks man!! Appreciate the support 🙌❤️
@@LearnUpstairs Not at all, you are doing amazing work and leading the way! Thanks a million for this
were are going to make it
I am studying at RCA in fall and focusing on smart spaces in commercial hospitality. The next three years will open many doors to technologists without the ID or architecture background.
❤❤
У них очень красивая мастерская
pls visit Junya ishigamis firm
Will add to the list! Thanks for the suggestion
No mention of the work with the Saudi government on NEOM? Isn’t BIG the master architect for the proposed “octogonal city”?
Of course there is a single program to solve all needs! It's Autocad ;) In reality these days is mostly Rhino/GH and then Rhino inside Revit. Also worth noting is that in addition to AI, the open source AEC world is evolving quite fast with Blender and associated tools like BlenderBIM, Homemaker, Tissue, IFC JS, and now IFC Git.
I wouldn’t be surprised if people at BIG used Autocad for a few things still! Haha
Yes the combination of rhino/gh/revit (and I’d even add enscape here) is what seems to be their main tool set.
Blender is going to take over 🙌
This explains the outrageous pricing model of enscape. As a freelancer the price doesn’t make sense. 🎉
I know… but that doesn’t differ too much from other engines, does it? Apart maybe from Twinmotion and D5 that are more accessible. Or even the open source Blender
@@LearnUpstairs If I ever want to go back to working for a single (BIGger) firm having that type of workflow in my repertoire is important. Previous iterations of Enscape were clunky, if not for the acquisition by chaos, this tool may have never made it.
But you're right, there's other equally decent quick render options out there priced competitively enough.
Documentation automation is already a reality. You can automate project documentation in Revit through their own built-in tools, plus you can do it with Dynamo and other 3rd party tools from EvolveLab, to name a few. Apple’s Vision Pro, is gonna revolution not only the way we interact while visualizing the projects, but also how we build on-site by their developers ecosystem. AR is not new to the industry, we already have Hololens for instance, but the possibility for other tools to be interconnected will be something to look forward to. Plus with these kind of tools I see a future in which we don’t even need to document a project anymore. (Not more 2D shop drawings at least).
How are apple vr googles a big deal? Its the same with an apple logo
I’m not sure it’s the same… it feels like apple has done right with AR instead of fully VR, you know?
That enables a lot more! And I also feel that the collaboration part is going to be better handled with the Vision Pro, thus being significantly more interesting for architectural purposes.
Still all ideas, but I’m eager to see how this plays out in the next few years
Visualization is not Architecture. It’s Architectural Illustration. Look it up kids.
Learn to build buildings. “Starchitects” come and go every 5-7 years when the next fad rolls in.
More like the most exploitive firm with the most underpaid foreign employees.
Hello !Hope you’re doing well. Great video🎉
How can we contact you please ?
