    So just to clarify, the first chord you show is a “drop 2 chord of a first inversion major 7th chord”? And, we can make a drop 2 chord from any inversion of any type of chord?

      So the first chord I showed comes originally from a 2nd inversion 7th chord (in close position.) Like I said, those close position 7th chords are actually not playable on the guitar, it's just for conceptual purposes.
      Theoretically, you could apply this process to any other chord. Literally just take the 2nd note from the top and drop it an octave. You could do it with triads, sus chords, anything (including doing it AGAIN with drop 2 chords..... dare I say Drop 2^2?
