I keep a planner and journal because dementia runs in my family and I am scared I will forget. I look back through them sometimes to test my memory. I also want to be able to tell people where I am at all times.....lol!

THIS IS REALLY REALLY RRRRREALLY SUPER HELPFUL FOR ME!! I REALLY WANT TO COMBINE/ INTEGRATE A MONTHLY LAYOUT PLANNER WITH A DASHBOARD OR VERTICAL PLANNER TO INCREASE FUNCTION AND PRODUCTIVITY.
WHEN I TRY TO FRANKENPLAN AND REALLY “INTEGRATE” TWO PLANNERS--I SOOOO STRUGGLE WITH ALL PAGES BEING TWO SIDED AND KNOWING WHICH WAY TO GLUE WHAT PAGES TOGETHER AND HOW TO CONFIGURE IT.

When I take part of the year out, I leave the monthly calendars in and only remove the weekly pages. That way there’s a place to put upcoming events and such …
Yes!! Frankenplanning always takes a bit of time to set up & sometimes I’ve had to rearrange it afterwards as I realize doing it the way I planned to just sucks & I need something better. I’m glad I’m not the only one that sometimes struggles in how best to set up my planners!!! I frankenplan the heck out of all my planners. & I went from 1 planner, to 3 planners & now I’m up to 5 planners this year that I frankeplanned & that was a bit crazy but going forward, I should just be able to keep building on what I’ve already set up (I hope! Lol).
I have hear of frankenplanning but this is the first I have actually seen it in action, I like it! New subscriber here.
Loved seeing how you set this up. I have a Big Dashboard for work too. I love it. With all these undated planners (and I am SO happy they have them) they are going to have to make a dates and holidays sticker book and keep it in stock so newer people who never got the OG books can date them. I have mine but I've used a LOT of them!
I got the OG last year and use it all the time. It was at Michaels. But I actually buy date stickers from some small business shops like Little Ida’s Notebook, the CoffeeMonsterzCo and MandyLynnPlans and use them more.

Great video Mary Ellen! I only have one planner for 2022 and am excited to be using a Big planner for the first time! I did some frankenplanning by changing out the guts of the planner because I wasn't a fan of the 2022 layouts for the calendar pages. I know it's not 2022 yet, but I am already looking forward to new planner releases 🤣❤

I like the gold discs. I put the Big discs on my Classic and the classic on the Mini. I may get chunky by the end of the year ! I now have a planner for the new Dorkie puppy, just note pages to document his life with us. Three planners now plus a couple tall skinny notes (stop writing on post its).

Hey Mary Ellen, another Planner Babe I watch has like 10 planners, and Franken plans. She places a sticky note on the front of all the planners to remind herself what is in those planners, what she uses them for. Thank you for the inspiration!
You can also color copy a second calendar onto card stock

I’ve been experimenting with Frankenplanning…I suck at it, but I think that’s because I change my mind about the size I want to use, how many planners I “need” to use (work, catch all, journal), and I even switch sizes in the middle of a month! Who does that? Oh wait…I do…I do that 🤦🏻♀️

Hi I watch you all the time love that you are true to who you are; but I wanted to answer your question yes when I’m frankenplanning or just adding daily pages I hate it to look thrown off like a random page or folder just in the middle I can’t do it I have to make a whole tab just for that so you are so not alone! Thanks for the videos!
Have you never thought about just buying dot grid paper and the punch and making your own journal up, so giving you the freedom to have each page as you wish it rather than gluing pages together and trying to make do?
or make something in word/canva/google docs and print it. At least that is the thing that is preventing from buying planners because they are too expensive for not being exactly what I need.
Just a suggestion If you are not using your currently page of the dashboard layout you can add the monthly layout to the to that page instead of a useable dashboard page.
Or
Putting it right before the last page that is attached to the currently so that you can use the more neutral currently. 🤷🏽♀️! Love all of your videos.

I have read somewhere that planners are actually acceptable evidence in court proceedings. And I love that. Which is why I track a million things on my planner.

I have used that monthly extension pack because they didn’t make a big monthly planner, for which I was really bummed.
The extension pack’s colors are 👀, but it works, so 🤷🏼♀️.

If I ever have any type of FOMA you would have me using the Happy Planner again. It's been years. LOL, I swear I say the same thing. If someone ever said anything I could pull my planner and journals out and they would see what I've been doing.

If someone were to frame you, they would pick a time when they knew you were alone and noone can cooberate you alibi. Or so murder mystery books have assured me, lol. I loved seeing your setups.
They really ought to sell that plastic tool with every single planner they ship, so it's like something special you get if you place an order from the website.
If you have a printer or access to one you could just make your own monthly layout inserts that way they’re still neutral or make some once you use up all the other ones you have now .. just a thought especially if you don’t want to really spend more money

11:18 that reminds me of an ep of Malcom in the Middle where the dad was in a fed case regarding fraud at his job, and the days they said he was doing the crimes he was actually not at work. He proved his innocence in court with his memory box that had movie ticket stub, go karting receipts, etc to show he hasn’t been to work on a Friday in like 5 years! 🤣 long story short, that’s a good idea.

why not just put the classic pages in your big planner?
I’m just starting out in the happy planner world. I just bought a regular big size & I plan on changing the covers etc. are the disc all the same size? I want to change my disc as well but I’m confused
There are regular discs which are called classic, and mini discs and expander discs. You want classic discs
Hello, you have mentioned a few times the custom disc applicator tool you used no longer being available. Do you know if anyone may have mad a 3D print file for one? Seems simple enough?

Question....what is the benefit of using a undated planner versus a dated one?
You can start whenever you want throughout the year! Or use it in any year. Or use the pages to insert into another planner. I am using the undated because it was free and I did not want to buy a new planner.
I have used a Happy Planner since 2015 and I have never put my name in one I’m to scared to try.
I ended up trashing my cover page 🙃
Wrote my name with a sharpie and it showed on the other side.

Why don’t you just design your own monthly layout pages in letter size, print them and punch them? I could do the design for you if you want (for free of course) and send it as a pdf file for you to print.
Thanks! I may do that in the future but I’m still learning exactly what I want to do with my monthly pages, still trying to get a handle on everything and really nail it down first
