    The reason huge companies like PepsiCo and Nestle don't make it known that they own all of these companies is because competition increases revenue. They make their sub-companies compete against eachother all in while the fathering one wins, no matter who you spend your money on.

    They’re called monopolies

    • @Cklert
      @Cklert Před 3 lety

      Technically they're oligopolies since some of these companies do compete with each other, ironically a lot of these products compete within their own brand.

      The TyRant true, but they also advocate for regulations and laws that reduce competition across the board, which leads to consolidation within every industry. It’s anti-capitalistic.

      @@andrewstubbendeck7571 well it's one business with multiple operations if you choose to look at it that way. It depends how much semantics and doublethink you want to engage in.
      This is crystal clear definition of conglomerates. Conglomerates are much closer to monopolies than what you are claiming. You're awfully stupid

    • @theclouddev3473
      @theclouddev3473 Před 3 lety

      @@andrewstubbendeck7571 there are 2 different types of monopolies, think of it as vertical and horizontal, vertical is a company controls everything in one particular product. From getting the materials, then making the product to packaging and shipping it out, but horizontal monopoly is basically having your foot in everything(or as much as possible) in one specific area

    • @scottyhaines4226
      @scottyhaines4226 Před 3 lety

      @@theclouddev3473 the entire purpose of a monopoly is to control price and production of a product or service. A conglomerate isn't necessarily doing any of those. Having a company who ows a lot of other companies isn't a monopoly unless it allows them to control price or production.

      @Adam Isaacs Look dude. It's a joke...lighten up. I might be a staunch capitalist, but I understand we are under a system of corporate welfare where the large corporations are propped up by the government. This inherent government-fed monopoly crushes competition and small businesses. To my eye, that is what this chart shows...corporatism. This isn't the same as capitalism and it's intellectually dishonest to conflate the two.
