I'm Italian and when I was little tiramisù was my go-to birthday cake. I remember my parents would sit together in the kitchen the evening before my birthday making it, whisking everything by hand because we didn't have an electric mixer so it would take a while. We'd eat it only once a year so it was always a very special treat and hands down my absolutely favorite dessert. And since it felt so special as a kid I was convinced that tiramisù was this rare and super sophisticated delicacy, extremely difficult to prepare. Then I grew up, began cooking and baking and realized that it's literally one of the easiest foolproof desserts ever, but I still only make it very rarely so whenever I have it it's always a special occasion. Definitely still one of my favorite desserts
We need a trifle or rice pudding (ideally topped with nutmeg and it’s really good mixed with jam) for the UK (my home). They’re two of my personal favourite desserts.
I got confused for a moment before realising that's how it's spelled over in Indonesia, and with all due respect, their version is garbage, the Malaysian one is better.
Little info for the non italian speaking people: "Tiramisù" the name of this dessert means "lift me up" because with the generous amount of coffee, eggs, mascarpone cheese and sugar this dessert gives you a wake up boost that you can really feel. @@kornar true but at the same time not totally correct, the first time this dessert recipe was published on the italian dishes magazine of the gastronomist Giuseppe Maffioli in the 1981 the original recipe was of only 5 ingredients: eggs, mascarpone, savoiardi, caffe and dark bitter cacao powder, but at the same time Maffioli, that already knew the true potential of this dessert proposed a variation including 4 table spoon of marsala to the cream. This is one of the reasons i’m proud of Italy
For the original one: don’t use any alcohol, don’t use egg whites, always remember to use fresh pasteurized yolks (salmonella stares at you every moment), when you mix the creams don’t whisk them but use a spatula for a perfect texture, and then let it sit in the fridge overnight. I know it’s hard to wait, but it’s worth every single second, trust an Italian
Yeah dude why the hell would you use alcohol that's discusting. I assume her mother did not made tiramisu with alcochol when he was younger.
@@matigamer329"disgusting"? Lol i bet you never tried alcoholic desserts. He gave it a twist and i'm for sure it's good. I'm trusting his score instead of a random on internet that never tried it
Why this comment is not on top?
@@matigamer329Even if not the original recipe, alcohol in tiramisu is used extremely often.
The alcohol isn't the problem it's more the when he used it. Put it into the coffee and you could even cook the alcohol out but the almond flavor only adds to the dish.
Pavê from Brazil needs to appear in this series
“More cream” 💀👍
