ANAKULAM WILD ELEPHANTS VILLAGE TOUR
Anakkulam is a small Village in Idukki District of Kerala. This peaceful place is located in the middle of a reserve forest about 40 km away from Munnar. The main attraction of this area is Elephants. They are coming here to drink water from this river for most of all days and now a lot of tourists visit here to see the elephants. With wild elephants arriving in herds, Anakulam has turned into a tourist attraction in Idukki district.

Everyone can enjoy elephant herds within a distance of 50 meter. The herd strength includes young calf and the mighty tuskers. large elephants herd in kerala we can see it in this place. A nice walk through the forest and a cool bath in the Idacholayaar freshen one’s mind.The mineral content in the water is the prime attraction for the wild elephants. water samples from the river found traces of salt content. We believe the mineral-rich water seeps through the rocks on the riverbed. Generally, elephants bathe in any water. But the wild elephants do not take a bath in the Anakulam river, they use it only to drink water.
