  • Guess I still mess up 😂. Yes I copied 449 when it was 339. Not sure why I do that sometimes but it does happen. 😭 and i made it all the way through editing too😂

    I just got one of these radios, haven't even taken it out of the box yet. So I guess I'm ready for CW and SSB if/when I get a nice small Yagi. I'm going to start working on programming it for FM first, then work on the other modes. Thanks, Troy, much appreciated and enjoyed!

    After watching these videos and seeing that I can finally have a 2m/70 cm SSB radio that I can afford. I am sold.

    OK, I have just lost all my reasons for not learning CW, since I have three of these Quanshengs... :-) Excellent video and thanks for posting! 73, Jan M7HNK

    Nice video. Guess I’ll be buying this radio now too 😂 and I’ll get the laurel logs submitted this week in an evening and give you your complete

      Glad i caught you up there to get the complete.
      I think it would be a lot of fun with local sideband and cw contacts with these. Could even be POTA. I’m going to be playing with some of the other firmwares to see which ones work the best.

    Whoa this is sweet. I didn’t know this radio had CW functionality. How easy is it usually to activate SOTA/POTA on 2m with CW? I’m brand new to CW and have been activating parks but only on HF bands. This makes me want to give it a shot!

    • @QRPMonkey
      @QRPMonkey  Před 2 měsíci

      Not easy in my area. In this video I scheduled with a ham friend to be on the air. For POTA you can be in the same park with other hams working each other. Great way for hams who want to get on CW and learn without all the anxiety.

    I have very enjoy your video. Practising SOTA (and in some mounths I hope in CW), if I can do like you with my Quansheng K6 it would be great! I work for then I would like to know what firmware you have on the Quansheng for this connection cable to the paddle? IJV 2.9R5 ou CEC? With APRS, it seems to be CEC ;-) I suppose. The parameter of the firmware have to be configured? TKS! 73/88

    Do you have any info on the antenna adapter you screwed on to your mast?

    • @QRPMonkey
      @QRPMonkey  Před měsícem

      I 3d printed it so i could use my Arrow antenna with my buddiepole mast.

    Hmm…. At time 4.29, wasn´t the response 339 339, not 449 449 (as written in the crawl text)? I also noted that you shorten the ”9” with ”-.” Am I wrong?

    • @QRPMonkey
      @QRPMonkey  Před 3 měsíci +1

      your right😂. Nine is shortened by using a n. Can’t believe i missed that. I never claimed i was good at it 😂

      I really enjoyed the video! It took me back to the early 80s. Í´m contemplating the possibility to taking up the hobby again though. Thanks again for an interesting video.🥰🇸🇪

      Thank you. Really embarrassing on my side. Can’t believe i made it all the way through editing and everything. Really appreciate you pointing it out. Hope you do decide to get back into it. Its a lot of fun. 73

    I really enjoyed this video! Would you consider doing a video on exactly how you used APRS on the Quansheng to spot yourself? Thanks. DE WA1KLI
