    It's been a good 4 and a half years or so since my last visit to Liverpool JL Airport in 2017 so it was touching to be back here. This time I was here for a series of charters operating for the Champions League Final, including some A330's and an A350.
    The day started off with Runway 09 in use, and poor and murky weather conditions. As the day progressed the sun began to appear and eventually the airport switched to 27 ops which meant for some close up landings and take offs
    Overall a great day and some fantastic movements for this otherwise quiet airport. It was also great to meet up with some fellow youtubers including 'The Aviators' and 'Manchesteraviation14' - Feel free to check out and subscribe to their channels

    Excellent shots - love the old 737-400, and the B76 Stones livery. Then reverse OPS, you nailed it Casey.

    13:04 why are they taking long to retract the gears?

    • @bmsk0076
      @bmsk0076 Před 2 lety +1

      To cool the brakes faster since the plane had a short turnaround and didn't have time to cool on the ground.

    • @theskyline1425
      @theskyline1425 Před 2 lety +1

      @@bmsk0076 does it mean that the plane didn't even go to the gate?

    • @bmsk0076
      @bmsk0076 Před 2 lety +1

      @@theskyline1425 Letting the brake cool by not retracting the landing gear immediately after takeoff is a procedure large airliners use when the brake temperature is still high from the previous landing. I think it was only carrying some cargo which doesn't take that long to unload, no passengers.

      @@bmsk0076 i wonder how hot the brakes can get

    • @bmsk0076
      @bmsk0076 Před 2 lety +1

      @@theskyline1425 200C- 400ish depending on runway conditions and weight. The thrust reverser helps slow down the plane and reduce the strain on the brakes.

    Great video but I didn't think the runway there was long enough for the A350 and the 767

  • @ryanmann3412
    @ryanmann3412 Před 2 lety

    Ryanair keeps reverse thrust on that long? I thought they disengaged that at 60 knots.

    • @ryanmann3412
      @ryanmann3412 Před 2 lety

      nevermind, saw others do that too. i assume it's because of the length of the runway.
