I feel like everything is a learning experience. Before a blessing, there is always a battle. Obviously no one should expect to find dead animals in their room. Hopefully you’ll remember to pack cleaning supplies even if ppl say they cleaned, they lie.

I have been patiently waiting for your series to come out with you at school for your summer intern. I’m so sorry for your entrance into the school dorm. Girl I probably would’ve lost my mind seeing that Birdsnest there but you handled it well. I remember going away to college my parents dropped me off and I made friends right away then I went to the store get my room together. I’m happy for you that you are adjusting yes it’s been difficult but I hope things are getting much better now. Your McDonald’s story was hilarious and I felt your pain. As long as you are covered with the blood of Jesus girl you are good. i’m looking forward to seeing your next video and seeing how things are going. I’m from NY so can I suggest maybe order a little shipping cart so if you need to get a package or do some shopping you can just put everything in it and catch the bus or whatever transportation- it’ll def get easier babygirl !

I felt this. I'm from Chicago and I go to a PWI in Wisconsin but, I relocated to Ohio for an internship and I was feeling the same way when I first moved in. It will get better and I know you're almost done now so I would just look it as an experience to explore new things. Wishing you the best 💕

Luv your vlogs! This reminded me of my freshman year many years ago. Do ya'll have Zipcars or something similar? That's what we used back in the day. It's like an hourly car rental for students. My classmates and I would also ride the bus together lol That made it less stressful. Scooter rentals were also popular. Anyway, peace and blessings on your journey. It'll get easier.
I want to start of by saying you are really inspirational and I love your chem videos. I go to ITHACA COLLEGE which is in the same town as Cornell. I’m not sure how the tcat(local buses) works during the summer but you can try it out on occasion. So sorry you experienced this on your first day. Good luck with the internship, and I wish your much better days to come!!!
Tuh girl welcome to NY lol. But I’m so happy and proud of you and I’m loving the way you are handling everything. With the shower situation maybe you can get like a beach towel and hang it over the door to cover up the gap just have it with you when you go shower like a portable shower curtain lol.

I was going to go to CAU but couldn’t because of financial problems. Then, I went to SCSU for my Freshman year and hated it, the people, the vibe, the area, the facility & staff, etc. Left with only my two roomies who are my besties. I am now back in my city where I live, it’s small but better than the other place and I go to a community college for my Phlebotomy Technician certification, going to get my RN after, and probably Women’s Health & Midwife Nurse Practitioner. Crazy how I went from a Sociology major & wanting to go to Law school.
So everything happens for a reason and I happy to see you bettering yourself and situation, you’ll do great!❤️

I had the same reaction when I went to Michigan State for my internship. A lot of the PWIs have older facilities and their dorms are like jail cells . I almost lost it when the rooms had no AC an the bathrooms were shared by the whole floor. My HBCU had me spoiled with apartment style dorm life since freshman year 😂 I still ended up enjoying myself mainly because the people interning with me were cool. I hope you enjoy yourself.

They didn't tell you about any of this before allowing you to move in? That's crazy and I have heard of other schools doing this especially if you don't go see it before. Swear institutions make it hard for no reason.

John 3:16 says , “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life ! Believing in Christ isn’t only enough! Even the demons believe! However, Matthew 6:33 talks about us seeking Him and spending time with Him in the secret place ( where He lives- Matthew 6:6). If we seek Him, we will find Him! If we love Him, we will obey His commandments ! God’s grace is so sufficient! Wishing nothing but love , joy , peace, prosperity, faith, hope, etc. Have a blessed day ! Take the time and look at the beautiful lessons you are learning (especially about you, and your ability to overcome obstacles) through this process. It doesn't feel good with the delays, and inconveniences, but mama you are doing it. The powerful thing is you are one of the top tier studens in your current program at a POWERFUL HBCU, & have earned the amazing opportunity to impact this program in a powerful way.
God will allow challenges to come to see if you trust Him for what you prayed and said what you were going to believe Him for. HE IS STILL in control of everything. He will provide everything for you.

Lol. I go to Cornell. I remember first starting and having all the same issues. Very misleading…I had a bathroom that I shared with my suite mates, but it looks like your in one of the newer dorms ( ganedego/ Morrison) which has community bathrooms. For transportation, Uber works better than Lyft. Food is mostly trash everywhere (imo)… there are some good places in college town to eat and get boba and stuff…the people are pretty cool though and everyone is going through the same thing so it’s a shared experience that you can laugh at later ( hopefully). Ithaca is an entire hill, and that slope is no joke. It’s a lot girl…. But if you have any questions about anything I can def give you my contact info.

Northern States to the Southern States. Hopefully you volunteer to become a Freshman Orientation Leader at Clark Atlanta University. Yes, I am a 1981 graduated of Tuskegee we are the generation with the community bathrooms and roommates. LOL!

Sometimes God will put you in an uncomfortable situation to prepare you for your elevation. After this experience you will be so self sufficient because when you don’t have your normal accommodations you will know how to improvise. Now side note Cornell is suppose to be an Ivy League college I definitely would expect more from them. My anxiety was high for you. But, I am proud of you for riding it out and it will get better.

Wait I’m confused all old colleges have community bathroom and if they don’t they are few in bathroom in suite didnt they tell you that you didn’t have a bathroom or didn’t you do some research. Not chastising you but curious
I was told months before my arrival of my living arrangements hence in the video I said what my expectations of the bathroom were. It had nothing to do with not doing research and making assumptions. It wasn’t until I arrived that I was informed differently. Also old college standards does not necessarily equate to Ivy-league standards *majority of the time* hope that was more clearer for you!
