- Here is the another piece of Walkman history from sony. This Sony WM-101 is a well made personal cassette player which has dolby and tape selector plus auto reverse. The only negative is the battery pack which the plastic lock in clips can be easily broken. In this video I've shown that it can be remade. Enjoy.
Yes! Could you please show how you fixed the battery holder? Mine is broken and I would like to know how to fix it
Where can I get a battery adapter? Thanks :)
yes please make a battery pack repair video
how did you secure the black plastic leg replacements for the battery holder? glue?
Hi, Thanks for visiting my channel. I have used super glue and later used epoxy glue and left it to cure for 48 hours. It wasn't easy, but if you have a picture of the latches' legs, it can be restored. As it's requested by several comments, I'll make a video about how to fix the battery pack soon. Keep a look out for the video. Until then, take care and cheers for now.
i have a sony wm 101 but it's missing the battery pack. I soldered a standard plastic battery pack for AA battery directly to the tiny pins sticking out on the side of the walkman, and tried putting in a AA battery. But it don't turn on and the led for 'battery' don't light on. I see in the standard battery pack there is a component, i guess a condensator, between the battery and the walkman. So I guess my wm 101 don't work... But I'm not sure if it's supposed to work the way I did... I wonder if it is supposed to work anyways without the component...
It should work, the output of the component is around 1.3V I think. Both my WM-R202's also did nothing at all and cleaning the switches inside fixed it. I cleaned them carefully with a small nail file and then some IPA until they all made contact again
@@Florian00 thanks for the reply ! what do you mean by IPA ?
@@hjyuihyuihyuihnjyuih Isopropyl alcohol, I got a bottle of 99% to clean electronics and corrosion. Also the batterycontacts might not make a good connection, it's kind of a springy connection to the battery component but due to aging it could've moved and thus not make proper contact anymore
My childhood memories 😅😊
