We will see who we are when it’s time to strap it up, until then, it’s all talk. I believe Venables is comfortably settled in now. Has a lot of “his” guys so I expect results this year pending on the offensive line and Arnold’s maturation.

Traphouse!! I completely agree. Venables has detoxed most of Riley out of the program at this point. It's finally HIS guys making up the team. Lots of young talent but we'll see what happens on the field

Jackson Arnold would have to absolutely implode for Oklahoma to not win 8 games. I understand his bowl game was rough but it was his first start with a new OC. This is a 5 star kid with some real accolades to his name. If nothing else it's easy money on the over.

When that OU offense has to go against that BV OU defense everyday in practice they'll be ready.

@@myriammorrison9840 Simple: weak schedule overinflated defensive stats. Gave up over 460 yards of offense to Texas in three quarters after Texas lost their only true Center two minutes into the first quarter. And then we have Kansas & Oklahoma State

Unlike in the big 12 where we had a target on our backs every week, in the sec we will be overlooked just like we already are in national media with the betting odds and over/under wins. Combine that with a schedule where if you break it down is actually pretty managable, the returning talent we have on defense and in my opinion the best wide receiver room in college football all we have to do is get the o line squared away and limit turnovers and this team will shock a lot of people by winning 10 games and getting into the playoffs.

Oklahoma is a 10-11 win team. I dont understand why people are so down on them. That defense will be stout, Arnold can do things Gabriel couldn't.
The SEC gave them a gauntlet to run. But the Texas game and at LSU at really the only places they should be expected to slip. Alabama was on the list until Saban stepped down- now Oklahoma is ahead of them.

We'll see. BRUTAL schedule. One of the 2 or 3 toughest in the country. And yes, OU has a good chance at a true vintage OU D. How much talent does OU have on D? Kanack is running 3rd team now.

Look at the first 3 games, it's a ramp up every week in talent before Tennessee. That gives Him time to acclimate to the speed of the game so that when in the meat of the schedule, the ramp up won't be as drastic as it would be, if OU's first game was an SEC team. Practice makes perfect.

I don't get the point of this when Oklahoma already proved they can roll with the SEC and beat these types of teams. They beat Texas last year which went into Alabama and won the SEC... I understand that doesn't mean they would have beaten Alabama lol (I don't buy into the transitive property crap, especially since OU lost to OSU and Kansas), but it's ridiculous to say they won't compete in these big-time games against Alabama, LSU, Missouri, and Ole Miss

The best he’s been known for since entering college is blowing a half time lead to Arizona and turning the ball over 3 times. And turning it over 3 more times against a non existent defense in the spring game.
If the O line is decent we have no reason to not be a top 3 team in the SEC

I think bedenbaugh will get the oline squared away. This season pretty much falls on Jackson arnold. If he plays like we think he can, OU can surprise everyone and challenge for the SEC title and be a playoff team
