  • In this video I review theTrexo Slider, a mini motorized camera slider that has quickly become my favorite over alternatives like the Edelkrone Sliderone, Smartta Slidermini, YC Onion Chocolate, and Zeapon Motorized Micro.
    The Trexo Slider features an internal battery, built-in screen, as well as mobile app control. It also uses a unique lead screw design instead of rubber belts like other sliders to reduce jitters and eliminate the need for future maintenance.
    Trexo also has optional motorized pan and tilt modules to turn the Trexo Slider into a complete 6-axis system, perfect for interviews, product shots, and more.

    What do you think about the Trexo slider? Have you been using a different slider lately?

    Very nice Slider and a Pan/Tilt option would be great.

      Agreed! Hopefully I'll get my hands on them soon and can do a follow up video. They look promising!

    Thanks!

      Zeapon is definitely a good one too. I don't think any of them are really worth switching to another one in most cases, unless there is something that really annoys you about your current slider!

      @@NewLayer Some users of the Micro 2 Plus tall me that with heavy load they broke some wheels inside.. I try to use the monitor outside the camera and for now I got any problems! But I do not have the motorized version, just manually!

      @@flaviopresutti Ouch, that wouldn't be a good feeling. I pretty much only use my A7S III or A7IV with a lens, no accessories, but they all have their load limits.
      Manually sliders are fun, but I think motorized ones are much MORE fun :)

      @@NewLayer It's something I want too, the motorized slider, because I love doing timelapses, and to be able to add the motor to my workflow would be great.
      I am a Lumix S5 and Canon 6DII user, I don't know if the Zeapon app works well with those cameras, I would not want to invest in a product that was not the right one for me.

    Hey I just bought a Zeapon Axis 120 which is very noisy when it brakes ans accelerates again in another way. So I can't use it for an interview. Is this Trexo noisy? Do you know one motorized slider that is very slient? A one which can be used when guests are close during an interview. Thanks in advance for your answer.

      I find the Trexo to be one of the quieter ones I've used, and if you haven't seen it, they make a double length Trexo Slider XL: geni.us/trexosliderxlmotionkit

    Have you continued to use the slider or do you have a different one you recommend now? Have you gotten to try the pan/tilt for it yet? There’s just not very many reviews on it but it does look nice.
    Considering the xl with pan/tilt. Did you review this one?

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  Před 3 měsíci

      I actually do have the pan tilt modules, but haven't been able to test them yet. At first glance they look great, but unfortunately I can't give you any firsthand experience with them just yet. I do think the XL would be a great slider if you need the extra length. I love compact gear, but even the XL is super low profile, so I'm tempted to get that one too.

    • @jodifriedman9864
      @jodifriedman9864 Před 3 měsíci +1

      What other sliders have you used that you like?
      As far as this one, with the pan/tilt, do you have the newest version that they just released? And how easy would you say the app is? Any glitches to report?

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  Před 3 měsíci

      @@jodifriedman9864 I've had a few mini ones from Smartta, YC Onion, and Zeapon, as well as some bigger ones from GVM and YC Onion, plus the Kessler Second Shooter Pro 6-axis system. I just don't need bigger sliders, and this is my favorite small one for the reasons I mention in the video.
      I don't know which pan/tilt modules I have exactly, did they already upgrade those somehow? They weren't released long ago at all.
      I didn't have any issues with the Trexo mobile app, but again, I have not been able to use the pan/tilt modules yet, only the slider itself.

    Stop motion: Is the camera connected to the slider or how do you program it for timelapse's.
    Is there any indication regarding the time for going from A to B ?
    thank you

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  Před 10 měsíci

      I would recommend checking out their user manual videos to get the best idea of how it all works exactly. I don't do a ton of timelapse, and I know people who do it often can be picky, and rightfully so, about how some things work in that regard: czcams.com/video/zkZAmxMAU90/video.html&ab_channel=TrexoInnovation

      Thank you. The answer is indeed yes...
      Another question. Does the App require a continuous to the slider when using it ?
      And when it disconnects is it easy to reconnect ?

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  Před 10 měsíci

      @@edwarddebruyn8717 Once it's running, it'll keep running until you stop it through the app or onboard controls. So if it disconnects it keeps going. For me, it's always been easy to reconnect.

    This slider should cost $100-150. A ring turntable for video and photography with a remote control costs $20-30 - the same eggs only across. Just to wait a year or two and they would be sold in stores in the toy department.

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  Před 2 měsíci

      If you can build a slider this quality and sell it for that price, you'd be a multi-millionaire. Sliders like these have already been around for 5+ years.
      You can get cheaper ones than this, but there's always a reason for it.

    • @Fujik1966
      @Fujik1966 Před 2 měsíci

      @@NewLayer I would put it differently - something like sliders has existed for decades. These are cheap printers $20-100. And they are much more complex. I won't be able to create my own company. Not here, unfortunately. (Google Transtetter) Eduard.

  • @MattRandallProductions
    @MattRandallProductions Před 3 měsíci +1

    SOOOO expensive!! The biggest drawback of the Edelkrone is the price. It is not affordable at all. The super simple small one that fits in your camera bag is not a pro level piece of equipment. But both that AND this one are just way out of budget. No wonder wedding film makers for example just refuse to use sliders anymore.

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  Před 3 měsíci

      There's definitely some cheaper and some more expensive than this. I mention a couple others I've used in this video, but if you search my channel for "slider" there will be reviews on some other, less expensive options!

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  Před 6 měsíci

      Wait til you look at "pro" brand slider prices like Edelkrone. There's plenty of budget sliders like the ones from GVM, but they can have issues with jittering and slop, so you'll pay a few hundred dollars for footage that is not even usable sometimes.
