I do construction and I’ve found 2 arrowheads. 1 was in a roadside ditch we excavated cleaned up existing ditch , the other was on a FED EX facility after stripping the whole site from topsoil .
We were building a launch/landing site in Spaceport, New Mexico. On the first month of construction a hatchet was found and they shut the site down for 2 days. Next time people found stuff we were told to just throw it back and not tell anyone.

The owner of the company said we could have the good dark dirt to sift at our leisure if we had a way to haul it home. Unfortunately I didn't know anyone in the trucking industry :(

Detecting4Life I know what you mean, my buddy had his house built on a campsite and I was digging in the dozer pile for months and didn’t even get half of it before it hit spread out and seeded, found one of my best points ever in it. The place is loaded with artifacts.👍🇺🇸
The way it was described to me by a veteran artifact hunter was that this dark layer was the original layer they camped on. The points and other items were dropped or lost during daily activities. Over the centuries the dirt has built up through natural processes putting this "use" layer down to the 12-18" mark on this particular site.
can you imagine all the stuff being found due to people from the north & california moving in, thus causing all this construction around Texas exposing artifacts

This is clearly an archaeological site. Up here in Canada this sort of site destruction would be a crime. Why is there no archaeological excavation going on?!
Calm down Geoff. This is site is too shallow. Years of farming and modern usage have destroyed the diagnostic data. At least we were able to save a few relics before modern urbanization paved over it.
Including that sort of information in your video title and description would be recommended then. Site looting is a major concern in the archaeology community. Seeing artifacts being dug up by machinery is quiet shocking. Thank you for the clarification and the reply.
Those artifacts are a part of that land, the only trace left of the people who too were a part of that land for over 10,000 years. They may not be in stratified context, but they are still the static signature of the living humans who were once there. I completely share the fascination and reverence for their culture with you, but you must understand that you've now erased that signature, and taken the power of those artifacts away from that land to horde it for yourself in your home. Please just consider that, and consider that most (not all) indigenous descendants do not appreciate what you're doing, and they would appreciate your repatriating the tools to them. Consider letting the artifacts continue their journey in the ground.
The only journey those artifacts were taking, if they even survived the trip, was from one drainage ditch to another. I didn't erase anything. I was merely at the right place at the right time to rescue them. As for hording artifacts, I would kindly ask you to take a big dose of STFU since you have no clue what I do with relics.
The Hill Country in Texas is a gold mine for artifacts I really miss living there and hunting them

Yesterday I found an arrow head at work. If anyone knows what Indians lived in the woodlands Texas please let me know.
