    Thanks for the tutorial, I've had success using this with the vanilla planes but I can't seem to get DLC planes (MACV SOG: F-4 Phantom II) to work with this. Either they keep flying in at ridiculous speeds and crash into the ground, don't drop their bombs at all, or miss their targets by ~100m.

    • @OnlineCombatBN
      @OnlineCombatBN  Před rokem +2

      The SOG aircraft may be conflicting with the SOG modules that do air support. Try using those.

      Not sure there is a way to do that. If there is I don't know how. The modules load and are available when the mission loads.

    I'm setting up a fire support ( non-virtual) with the SOG/UNSUNG DLC with a corsair II loaded with LOTS of napalm. When I use the requester module, he will do two fly bys looking for a laser desingated target then on the thrid fly by will throw a couple rockets. How can i set him to target coordinates marked on map with napalm?

  • @okjustpickforme7881
    @okjustpickforme7881 Před 11 měsíci +1

    I did everything but made it non-virtual so I can make it slightly more realistic but nothing I put down fires or drops anything besides the artillery.

    Hey mate, love your work, I'm trying to make an battery of 105's but when i request the arty (non virtual) each gun comes up individually in the options rather then all guns coming under the 1 option, I've tried syncing each to the module individually, making the guns a group, synching the guns to 1 gun and then to the module but no joy, got any ideas?

    • @OnlineCombatBN
      @OnlineCombatBN  Před rokem +2

      If you use any artillery support modules, you'll always have to select individual guns. I guess you could try adding them to a group so that ordering one to fire will make them all fire, but I haven't tested this.
      I do have a script that makes all guns fire at targets via a trigger, but that is something you have to place markers in the editor for, it's not an 'on call drop it where you want it' type of thing.

    • @OnlineCombatBN
      @OnlineCombatBN  Před 3 lety

      Not really, unless you add scripted artillery and simulate AI calling an artillery fire mission.

    So what's the difference between CAS/Artillery and CAS/Artillery virtual?

    • @OnlineCombatBN
      @OnlineCombatBN  Před 3 lety +4

      CAS and Artillery (not virtual) are synchronised to actual CAS and Artillery resources you place in the editor. The virtual ones are handled by arma 3, so you don't need to do anything. If you want to specify which resources are used, you can enter the variable names into the CAS and Artillery modules placed. Does that make sense?

    what if you want to make limited support (meaning just mortar) and you can take it from a box? / item?

    • @OnlineCombatBN
      @OnlineCombatBN  Před 3 lety +3

      If you place weapons boxes, yes you can take the parts of a mortar and assemble it so you can use it manually.

    • @CostinBucuresteanu
      @CostinBucuresteanu Před 3 lety +1

      @@OnlineCombatBN and you sync it with your item (not necessarily box any item)

    • @OnlineCombatBN
      @OnlineCombatBN  Před 3 lety +5

      You can sync an actual object to the support modules. Example, you can place an artillery gun to the artillery support module, but not a virtual one. So you can chose the resource yourself.

      Try deleting the CAS module, save the mission, re-add the module, save again and test. Sometimes they bug out like many other Arma 3 modules.

    How to fix invalid range for artillery support ?

    • @OnlineCombatBN
      @OnlineCombatBN  Před 2 lety +1

      The artillery module will be the location that a artillery piece would be at on the map, and artillery has limited ranges. For example, if you are using a Mortar, that has a max range of about 5km. If you request fire support outside of this range, you will receive the invalid range message. If you call artillery onto a target are within 5km of the module (or un synced to the module) it will work fine.

      Well, you need to start by making a plan on what you want your scenario to consist of, what units you're going to use, what tasks you're going to have, the terrain you want to use. Start with an overall plan and then drill down into specifics.
