Not a quick or painless death, like being shot.Even traps are usually quicker deaths.

I lived 15 miles from Borger Texas for over 40 years. I’m 79 now. In 1926 an oil strike near Borger quickly turned Borger into a boom town. Population soon surged to over 45 thousand residents. Ace Borger and his partner John R Miller owned the town and it was named Borger after Ace Borger The town quickly filled up with robbers, thieves, killers, prostitutes, saloons. It got so bad that they called in the Texas Rangers. They were sent Frank Hamer and another ranger. Frank Hamer later became famous as the one who killed Bonnie and Clyde. My dad was a rum runner for Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie once gave my older brother a pair of short pants when he was about 5 or 6 years old and he told her that he wasn’t going to wear those sissy pants. I have a book written by Bill O’Neal, The Arizona Rangers. On pages 21 and 22 it tells about my daddy’s stepfather, Witt Neal before he married my grandma. Here’s part of what it says: The most impressive Ranger move to date came in March against a contingent of the notorious Musgrave Gang. One of the desperadoes was Witt Neal. The Rangers learned that he had a sweetheart living in a house near the Blue River about forty miles north of Clinton. They went there and found Witt Neal sleeping on a bed on the front porch and when they arrested him, under his blanket he had two six-guns, a .30-.40 Winchester, a double-looped belt full of cartridges, and 40 or 50 more cartridges stuffed in his pockets. Later in the day they arrested some more of the gang. Witt Neil and some of the others were sent to prison New Mexico. And he got out he met and married my grandma. Mother said when I was 2 years old that I would follow him around and try to put my hands behind my back to like he did.

This was the year that Heston starred with Eleanor Parker in 'The Naked Jungle' with the army ants, which I saw at the time at age 10. Wyman died in 2007 at 90 and Heston died in 2008 at 84.

It's like watching the cinematic version of Cliff Notes.
Events happen way to fast leaving no time to get involved in the story or care about any of the characters (and that's just what they are, characters). These aren't real people. Who ARE these people? I know as much about these people at the closing credits as I did at the opening.
One moment she gets off the train during a stopover, five minutes later she owns a fashion boutique.
One moment Pearl Harbor gets bombed and we get the impression Charlton is about to enlist and the next moment the war is over.
It feels like all the character development and exposition ended up on the cutting room floor.
I've seen movie trailers that were more involving and entertaining.

Heston has the warmth of an iceberg. I'm at 1:03:43 and if they end up together in the end something dynamic must happen between now and then.

Wyman was 37-ish. Assuming her character was of similar age. She expects lots of babies?

Thelma Ritter held her own in The Misfits with Marilyn Monroe excellently.!! I wonder is she was the mother of John Ritter from Threes Company?!

No , I don't think that she is John Ritter's mother. John Ritter's father is Tex Ritter, the Western cowboy star.

    Pretty-good, Thank-You!
Lots of beautiful clothes, and an interesting storyline - but the fact that She had to choose between Marriage/Love and her Business
    was a let-down.
Hollywood romanticized the long-held idea that being Wife/Homemaker/Mother should completely fulfill Women; contrary to what was happened to American Housewives who tried to live the lie.
(I’m glad I was born long-after Women’s Lib, though it’s fun to ‘visit’ this time.)
