You missed a pretty big one from the ORAS arc. The time when Zinnia gets stabbed by Rayquaza and coughs up blood is edited in the VIZ version to remove the blood.

About the sniffing part, vets can actually discover some diseases from your pets by the smell of their bodly fluids. While yeah it's odd to find about a flu that way, it's somewhat realistic
& then there is chicken sexing...

I think my favorite censorship moment was replacing Emerald accidentally going number 1 on Ruby/Sapphire with him spilling soda on them. 🥤

It is one of my favorites along with the Mario and Luigi RPG art style
the crucifixion scene in black& white is actually an homage to a scene in an ultraman series. ultraseven was one of the original inspirations for pokemon so there are quite a lot of them
You know, I somehow never noticed how much of an ass-man the manga artist was until the first 30 seconds of the video.
I respect it.

Tbh,most of these scenes are kinda subtle. I also didn't notice any of them(With the exception of Elesa and Green )
i remmeber as a kid reading pokemon special, years later i knew that there was some censorship that i didn't know (welp... only the pokemon balls with blue and the stare)
I was really surprise when i read they change the slap by a stare! Welp... i can really say that i read the uncensor one back in the day (i think was more than 10 years...)
Same i started to read the manga when i was 10, just now i discovered the censorship. And im kinda glad i've stopped at time, just bc my favorite characters (blue,yellow,green and red) werent showing up anymore, without a specific ending. Some people say that there isnt enough reason for censorship, but kids read it tho. Especially bc the influence from others.

i can definitely see how it looks like that but considering you can see the flying suit like bunched up above her legs it would definitely have to be at like pants level and covering there. idk what it actually is though but considering how it looks it definitely made sense that they censored it
@@asher3311if you cannot say that you can tell people's minds without having them actually say words literally, it's obvious that in this scene the manga artists intended to show her v*g*n*l buldge between her legs or buttocks as she's crouching like that. Because if not, why in the hell would have they went such efforts to even draw that in so blatantly?
@@asher3311the Pokemon company has all the rights to simply seclude the presence of Adventures from their franchaise or any promotion of it, the artists here are absolute sickos and these protagonists are even younger than that of what consists of the average shonen manga protagonists' age.

I can maybe understand that some of these happened many years ago because times were different, but I really don't see why anything in the manga should be censored. Like, this is THE more realistic and slightly darker version of Pokemon, we can have people getting hit or crucified by weird cults. I kind of wish there was a de-censored version of the English translation available (unless there is one that I don't know about). Like, yeah, I get that in the early 2000s some of this stuff might have been seen as "problematic" in the West, but seriously, some of the changes don't add anything, and if anything they remove from the story.
I think the ONLY changes I actually agree with are the Zigzagoon one for being a bit more realistic and the Y sitting one just because it does admittedly look a bit weird to have the suit showing.
5:24 this is, btw, the only censor of the french version of pokespe if we dont count the ouftit of Lenora who has being changed in every Pokemon media.

Turns out they censored that too in the original she was spewing out blood but the blood was removed in the viz version

I did not know most of these especially the X and Y ones as for the sky suit edit they could of thought it was Serena showing her panties which isn't the case since is her fyling suit so they decided to remove it even then wouldn't it make it more obvious. ^-^'
I honestly had to rewind that section dozens of times because I couldn’t see the difference. It’s one of those, that now I’ve spotted it I can’t I see it, but if it hadn’t been pointed out I wouldn’t have worried.

The piece of clothing on Y was supposed to be her panties rubbing against her y'know what and they decided to take it out cause well, pretty obvious why. Even though the edit isn't much better tbh
That one with Kris mom slap her daughter kind of reminds me of the first episode of Pokémon season 1 in the subtitles that misty slap ash but in the English dub they censored it

There was another version. chuang yi, did publish their own version until they went into liquidation at the end of the HGSS arc.
Just to add on, Shogakukan Asia took over Chuang Yi to continue publish from HGSS arc (Chuang Yi actually released until Volume 41, which is the start of the HGSS arc) and also republished their own versions of the arcs that Chuang Yi covered.
Me thinking about Sabrina’s flashback scene when Red met Sabrina soak bathing at hot spring one day in the manga when I saw this title of the video 😢 the first thing that came up to my mind.

5:49, the spot that was edited kinda looked like an upskirt shot or a cameltoe. Even though she wasn't really wearing a skirt in the case of the former. I don't get it, myself, personally.
This series has maintained the same artist the entire time right? They've gotta be considered a legend at this point
actually its had two artists! the first was a woman named Mato who illustrated the first 9 volumes then for everything else it was illustrated by a man named Satoshi Yamamoto

To me anyway, I agree with the censorship for once. Some of the moments make it look like a teen rated manga, so reducing the violence on humans keeps it PG while not changing much of the original version.
teen rated in America and teen rated in japan are pretty different. but the only censorship i agree with was Ys sitting position as it looked like she wasnt wearing anything down there

TBH, that's a common problem with Japanese media as a whole, not just Satoshi Yamamoto. Sexualization of minors happens even in the Pokémon Anime (cases in point: Dawn and Serena, both of whom are the female traveling companions of Ash that are used the most for fanservice). And you also see it happen in things like Digimon, like in the case of Zoe Orimoto, given the fact that her Digimon forms throughout Digimon Frontier specifically are all basically wearing nothing but underwear. And not only that, but Zoe gets a moment where it looks like she's being groped by Ranamon (Water Digimon, one of the villains in Digimon Frontier), gets an imagine moment where she has bigger breasts and is wearing a red bikini, and even gets what can easily be considered as panty shots during her transformation sequences.
The age of consent in Japan is fifteen, and the fact that you only mentioned female characters, would you not mind if it were male characters?

@@desirefabela6421 The age of consent in Japan is actually 16. This doesn't really prove your point though, as most of the time, the protagonists are younger than 16. (ex. Y is 12 in XY, Blue is 11-14 in RGB to GSC, and Sapphire is 15 in ORAS)
As for adult characters being a bit more sexualized, I personally don't mind (they're adults after all).
I mainly mentioned female characters as they are the ones mostly shown with shorter or fewer clothes than the male characters and sometimes in more suspicious angles. If it were the male characters being sexualized, I would care as they are also still children. I just don't see it happen as much as with female characters.

Honestly why is Pokemon Adventures Manga Demographic for Kids anyway. Like i cant imagine like a 8 to 10 year old kid trying to read or understand what even a Manga is. A good Majority of Manga and even Light Novel are more targeted to like Teens, like ages of 12 or 13 to 17 years of age to Adults. And a lot of Manga barely have this issue when it come to censorship. And as far as I know what people have said about Pokemon Adventure as whole, is that it one of the most darkest and Violent series, apart from the Anime counterpart. That's also one majority of the problem with the Pokemon series as whole, it's the aging of the trainers themselves. Cause every time, they make every trainer, especially the protagonist, be at the age of 10, which logically doesn't make sense. Its like having your parent sending your kids to dangerous environments, not to mention going up against antagonistic organizations. Like every thing would make sense if the trainers were like the ages of 12 to 14, like middle or early High schooler age. I'm think on lines of like early Naruto and My Hero Academia.
But if all this is all Pokemon company shtick, I don't think they would have the Balls to make Pokemon Dark and Violent, let alone fixing the aging problem.
