This for those with lumbar stenosis & facetal issues/ arthropathy.
Jeff all your exercises for lower back pain involve hip hinging (which is a general requirement to) or arching (like superman). For those with facetal arthropathy & stenosis, it's almost impossible to do any of them.
Please advise or make a video on how can one strengthen their lower back + do general exercises if stenosis & facetal issues are persistent.

Try strengthing your glutes, taking long stairs, multiple times daily, slow and steady steps insuring your muscles are activated instead of momentum, might help.
      It sure helped me.
Whatever you, I'd personally suggest to do it slowly and steady, go like that for a year, 4 or 5 times a week, increase gradually and carefully while listening to your body.
I'm fearful of squats, I feel it compress the spine that much, but we need expert opinion here.

@Chad C. Chadwick I don't know if CZcams has always monetized videos or not...but he has put out lots of helpful videos regardless if they have been monetized or not...
He lost his dad to cancer and was motivated to help people be in the best shape they could be.... If there was no monetization....there are the folks (like me) who have purchased a program to follow cuz it is nice to have stuff just laid out for you. But if you did not choose that option... He has still put out lots of vids regardless. You don't have to invest in him or his programs if you don't want to. You can join the folks that are frustrated about his popularity or physique or knowledge or willingness to commit to these things...or you could be thankful that there is someone for you to criticize...
More important than the physical condition is the spiritual condition of your heart.... Are you a born again Christian? Cuz Jesus is more worthy than Jeff Cavaliere for your following Him.

  • @actorvoiceactorjohnnyking8432

I watched the video once and didn’t remember all the reps and sets demonstrated lol. I got a different result-as I’m in the 10-15 pullup range, I thought I should tone down the number of pull-ups in every set all the way down to 2, so it was 14 to start with, 12 to 10 till 2 before I bumped it up to 8, the next set I couldn’t do 10 but only 6 and half and another half(still counted it as 6). Push-up for every set is 20, all 11 sets. 80 pull-ups and 220 push-ups. Not too bad. I used 25 minutes, long but it’s a challenging exercise, I think I stand a chance to get to Jeff’s standard soon

Finally worked up the mental strength and endurance to try this at the 15 pull-up start range. Had to use a band for assistance a few times and some knee push-ups but this was fantastic. Crazy pump at the end. I’ve been doing the home exercises for months since COVID hit hard last spring and this was a great way to mix it up. Thanks Jeff (and Jesse).

What people are forgetting is that he is saying aim for the reps. If you can't do what you're aiming for at least do what you can. Work through the whole workout doing what you can and make sure you push yourself. If you do 10 pull-ups and only get 7 the next set don't give up, try to get 5 the next time. If you only get 4 then try for 2. If you can't get any more rest a little longer, do negatives it doesn't matter what you do as long as you push your body's current limit.

  • @andrewlee7863
    @andrewlee7863 Před 3 lety +3

I’m a big fan of Jeff and his work, but this workout just seems impossible for me. By the 2nd set, I’m maxed out and can’t even get close to the pull up goal in the 2nd set.
Example: I can normally do about 12-13 pull-ups in a row with effort. Here’s what happens.
1st set: 10 pull, 20 push no problem, 5 pull
2nd set: 5 pull, 18 push easily, 1 pull... rest but maxed out and can barely even get 1 more before the end of the minute... essentially FAILing the workout here.
Maybe there’s something different about my physiology? Am I doing something wrong or missing something here? Should I be downgrading to the lower level despite my baseline pull-up performance?
It’d be nice to see Jeff or Jessie complete the workout so that I know it’s possible.

Alright I gave this workout a shot, here are my stats (note I've been doing only body weight training for a year and my gains have definitely plateaued):
I can do between 10-15 pull ups at 73 kilos so I followed Jesse's level, I didn't set up rows because I was confident in my pull ups (DON'T DO THIS):
Format: Set: pull ups to do | push ups to do --- pull ups actually done | push ups actually done
    1st set: 15 | 20 --- 13 | 20 (took longer than a minute)
    2nd set: 13 | 18 --- 11 | 18 (took longer than minute)
    3rd set: 11 | 16 --- 4 | 16 (dropped down to knee push ups)
    4th set: 9 | 14 --- 4 | 14 (regressed to chair push ups)
    5th set: 7 | 12 --- 4 | 12 (regressed to wall push ups)
    6th set: 5 | 10 --- 5 | 10 (wall push ups)
work time + rest time increased to 2 minutes from this point.
    7th set: 7 | 12 --- 7 | 12 (the rest actually helped!)
    8th set: 9 | 14 --- 5 | 14 (regressed to knee push ups)
    9th set: 11 | 16 --- 6 | 16
    10th set: 13 | 18 --- 6 | 18 (regressed to counter push ups)
    11th set: 15 | 20 --- 5 (pretty much half reps) | 20
Tell me oh wise people of the internet, is feeling the burn necessary for gains? Because I have ignored the burn for so long... all of my workouts have been super comfy and all I did was like 5 pull ups and 10 push ups for 4-5 sets. I blamed not being able to go to the gym for my plateau but could it be my workouts were just too comfortable?

  • @ericmalitz
    @ericmalitz Před 4 lety +3

I have 3 issues with this workout.
    1. I can do 20 pull-ups (at least), and then do the 20 pushups. But a minute rest after that is not enough; my subsequent pull-up count drops dramatically.
    2. This might relate to the above; fitting 20 and 20 into a minute without compromising form isn’t possible. Is it assumed you’re compromising form just to go faster?
    3. Overall, I can’t do this workout due to something I discovered awhile back: quickly alternating sets of pull-ups and pushups quickly makes me motion sick. I’m easily motion sick in vehicles, so it’s not something out of the blue. Actually, my go-to workout for many years has been different versions of alternating pull-ups and dips, which does not make me motion sick; but any time I’ve tried to replace the dips in this workout with pushups, I quickly got sick.
