People still having trouble find my Reverb shop... link is in the description box is that hard to to find or something? Here it is again pinned at top of comments: tidd.ly/3RIRwNs
I got the reverb page saved along my favourite seller's pages
I will say that I follow your shop and last week I searched via your channel name which aI thought was the shop name also. Anyway I found it when i searched my saved shops. Link will help for sure.
Thinning the herd is never easy ! You have our sympathy !
Man, seeing that 58 on the back of your bass was an unexpected reminder, I had one on my car for years until I sold it. RIP Marco
'It's better than what it's worth' applies to most of my little family of guitars. Loving these vids 👍
When you sell something ,you end up finding a use for it and regretting selling.
100% and after you try to find it in higher prices and not as good ending up losing money.
Oh okay cool. So it’s not just my experience.
If I had a guitar channel based on reviewing guitars it would be the price of doing business. Also if I had so many it took me a month to review them all I think Id likely have another that could do the trick. I think he's been pretty savvy in the ones he's keeping too because they tend to be the unique ones.
What is this “sell” you speak of? 😂
Colin, I can see the gears turnin in your head, when you justify keeping certain “Sales”.
You’re too funny Man, and not fooling any of us.
You make a much better collector than salesman!
You def entertain us every week, with your humor and bs!
👊😅
Keep it goin Man, much appreciate you.
How bout some band vids, from back in the day??
We’d love to see ‘em
Definitely NOT a Salesman ! You never "Get Rid" of a guitar... You either GIFT... SELL or TRADE a guitar... but... Whatever works for Colin... Ha Ha... My favorite CZcams Guitar Channel ! The 'Man' knows his stuff !
Nice zappa play through
Colin we appreciate your passion for guitar and music 😊 Thank you for sharing with us🙏🏼
The Zenta takes me back Colin 😂 When i started playing i kicked off playing bass, i had a Zenta bass then a few years down the line i switched to guitar...Memories..😂 Great stuff as always....Thanks.
That white ‘73 Tele is a proper Chrissie Hynde signature model, what she’s seen playing in all their performances for the first two albums, before she got the blue one with the chrome pickguard.
I have 15 guitars and have 5 on my living room wall. I try to rotate them on the first of every month and just making that decision is difficult. I do like some more than others. I feel your pain. Those are some beautiful giutars. Good luck to you. Cheers
I've got 18 and one was a gift from a friend. Wanting to sell at least one or two more but like you with 15 plus guitars it's still hard to let any more (other than the one or two I want to sell) go and I'm not even really playing that much anymore and it's still hard!
Down Down was the first Status Quo song id heard followed by Rain on the album Blue For You.
Blue For You was the first record i ever bought with my own money.
The first CD i ever bought was Pixies, Doolittle.
Iam now going to queue up Down Down and Roll Over Lay Down and maybe Big Fat Momma.
Lurve yer werk Colin
Cheers mate 😎🎸🤘
Nice Watermelon In Easter Hay!!! (That SG Jr is gorgeous!)
As for my part, I'm sitting here in Nashville TN, freezing cold I might add , we are having a record cold snap with record snowfall to boot..at least you don't have all these guitars in your living space!! That was my problem..moved to a smaller place.
Humid and very warm 28C down here in Auckland, New Zealand fir over a week give or take.
What’s that old saying? The weather is here, wish you were beautiful? Or something like that 🤣😂🤣😂😎🎸🤘
I know I've commented on Part 1, I'm here for Part 2 today because as I said, I'm having issues as well letting some go. They are truly like children in a way, it's utterly impossible to say which one is one's favorite. Also, as they leave home it's hard to see them go. Unlike yourself I don't have a show that I would need to bring in anymore, yet like yourself I cannot let them ALL go or I won't know what to do with myself! ;p
Dear Colin, I'm sure I'm not helping the situation BUT any SG Junior that sounds that good on Watermelon In Easter Hay should stay in your collection, in my humble opinion. Rock on sir👍
I don't play very well, at all but I've been "collecting guitars, pedals & amps" for about 4 years now, after owning only 2 guitars. Have around 25 guitars now. I've just bought, in the last month, a pre loved ol' 80s Squier Japan E series Strat. Plays like butter! ❤ it! My brother is "borrowing it"! Also, on Xmas day, I bought another modified & beat up, "Jimmie Vaughan signature Strat" from Z9, for a pretty fair price, in Sydney, Aus. Confirmed the "Authenticity" from pics on a website. Heard of "David Allen, Voodoo Blues pups? Most of the $ I paid for the guitar, would buy just the pups. Still not plugged in yet as she needs some wiring repairs & some light fret work. It's an addiction for me, now!
A cool thing about your playing is that a person can tell its you! That alone is very very cool!
Great playing Col with the tele at the end! Don’t stop the inspiration.
I could watch these videos all day ! What a collection ! The only one I’m after that I could afford is one you a keeping ! The Casino….
I would dearly love that SG Junior.
Nice tribute to Simoncelli. Thank you
You really should keep the SG Junior. Those P-90s in those guitars from all accounts are essentially not able to be replicated. I still remember the late 60s SG Junior I almost bought 20 years ago with regret. I think you will regret letting a vintage 60s SG go, as prices will only increase.
Your videos relax me after work. Youre a lovely guy and this channel is cool. Part one rocked. I like the starcaster but the headstock looks like a shoe lol
Loved the zappa! These videos are super fun to watch, thanks for sharing
Your a better man than me. I've got to a point I've got 5 keepers and a Maton acoustic. Was hard to get to this number but happy wife, happy life. 😢
All beautiful guitars Colin especially the p90's SG. Sad to see some go but better to be played and enjoyed over time.
Benjamin Murray just shipped me out my mini humbuckers for my Epiphone Crestwood. Can't wait!
You're doing an excellent job of hanging on to the unique ones that don't have another that easily could do what they do either sound or looks wise.
Great process to walk. Thank you!
Brilliant mate - all the best 👍
Thanks for the prompt! I'm getting pushed out of my house by all the guitars and need to reclaim some space (and cash). I don't have as many guitars as you do, but a lot of them are acoustics and take up much more room. Not to mention the drum kits, saxophones, ukuleles, violins, percussion and on and on and on. I need to do this, too. Best of luck not feeling too bad about guitars you'll surely miss one day:(
Thanks for digging this one up for me.....I love my Casino, got it about the same time you got yours....I've got the worn ebony but I could just tell when you demonstrated it that you loved it. Great guitar...I've got the worn ebony model.
Nice work mate !! Keep the films coming !!!
"Cockle Doodle Do" 🐓... and... After 52 years finally said "Goodbye" to a Much Loved "joined-at-the-hip" Italian Acoustic... Collected ALL my Acoustics together and Tested each and examined truthfully "why" do I keep them and "What" do they mean to me ?? I learnt a few things to my surprise ! Yes... I was reassured for purchasing them and DO play them ALL... Which only then leaves "Sentiment"... Goodbye 'old' friend and companion... You deserve to be played around a BBQ or whatever (?) and hopefully new owner will cherish you as much as I have done... and... as I walked out of the shop with cash in my pocket (?) ... THERE was a Half Size Travel Acoustic saying... "Pick me up... Pick me and I'll sing for you" ! and so I did ! Still have Ten guitars... or rather (?) Nine and a Half Guitars now ! and then ? Do have a Fender Redondo Laminate Acoustic... and it has it's own unique Tone (because of Laminate woods?)... Excellent construction, a 'beauty' neck (as Fenders generally do) and magnificent volume ! Am thinking 'your' Black Fender Acoustic is similar... and so... a Keeper ! Play on MacDuff ! If you EVER tour NZ ... (and I reckon you have Fans in Aussie too)... I'm the Duffer in the front row ! 🤠...
"...you got all these things and i'm not playing them." how true - they need to be played - i would hate to now how many guitars there are in closets that have not been played - probably over 1 million! that's a crime - even a sin - Guitars are meant for music NOT hoarding. thanks for being brave
I feel your pain brother..parting with some of these guitars.. that's the thing about them - they each have their own personality and you are obviously attached to them and rightfully so.
I'm really happy I found this channel.
...that Wilko Tele...lovely!
Love the 73 and 78 Teles! Wowza
Aloha from Buckingham,Virginia . Gracias 4 Tha Vidz . Keep on pickin' Cowkidz
You are such an inspiration Colin always love your playing
😊🙏
My wife and I are still laughing at the “Mexican Jobby” comment. 😂
That 70s Telecaster is a thing of beauty. What a lovely gift from your lady!!
She’s a keeper for sure. The lady might as well hang around too!!😂😂🤘
Don’t sell them unless you need the money. I am a Rickenbacker fan and regret getting rid of the ones I had back in the day as their prices are crazy compared to what they were in the 80s.
You have an awesome collection!
I wish I would’ve known how much guitars would have been worth now I bought them in the eighties they were just old guitars I had a 53 telecaster I bought for 275 and a black beauty Les Paul I think it was a 78 I paid 550 bucks and I sold them 😩😩😩
i saw you wiggin out at the play-out with the custom tele! i hope you keep it being your hunny got it for ya lol!
great collection you got there as well!
i sortof cheated before watching this film(to see what is for sale)....but i watched anyway because youre very entertaining and down to earth!
Some cool guitars. Tough letting go, BUT...............as you say....
That Jazzmaster is really tempting, nice piece.
Love how you folks talk man. Always makes me wonder what my people sounded like before we “crossed the pond “
I truly enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for all the work you put into entertaining us. While watching this one it seems that white guitars have a special place in your heart. Enjoy
I thought for sure you would have kept the 2022 Joe Strummer
The review and your enthusiasm for that guitar was contagious.
I live in a small town in Ontario Canada and had the local music store source one for me . The Fender rep said they had finished the production run and it was unavailable . I was eventually successful in buying one and absolutely love it .
Every time i pick the guitar up i think of your review . Spot on , thanks again !
Oh .... your channel is by far my favourite . I don't spend much time watching other channels that are biased with paid reviews .
Cheers man!, I love it but just don't like seeing the guitar gather dust... but it's not sold yet so I still might change my mind! 😆
Just started watching your videos. Really enjoyed them.Thank you.
Cheers, glad you found us! 😁
If customs wasn't a pain in Austria I would order that Jazzmaster in a heartbeat. Great showcase.
It is beautiful!
Nice guitars!
Hi Colin
You're being really strong.
Well done . Selling your guitars must be telly hard. Keep going mate.❣️
Nice 👍
When you were reading out the list of those you are selling I was sat thinking "Please, please don't make the mistake I made and sell the Jag..." When it wasn't on the list it came as such a relief! Well done Colin!
That's only half of them... two more weeks to come 😆😜
I'm sure you choose wisely 😁@@theguitaristas
That casino is gorgeous. I’m currently deciding on a casino or a gretsch I think now I’ve made my mind up. !
Really dug the sounds @20:44 -ish you pulled from the 1st Joe Strummer Tele...
Really Rezonent & Resonating (!)
You’ve got some nice kit geez me walking into that room of yours would be like when I was a kid and my mum and dad would take me to toys r us 😂
Very Cool, Thankyou. Such an Awesome Collection, just love seeing your Guitars and hearing you tell their stories. I fell for your White Tele and you inspired me to get one. I could only afford a Tokai model 'Vintage White' Tele with Rosewood Board. OH My, I love this Guitar SO much but still think of Your Fender White Tele every time I play my Tokai. All the Best. Cheers
Nice guitar that Tokai! 😎🔥
Really enjoying these videos, only just realised in the last video that you are about 10 mins down the road from me
Killer show again Colin 🎩🌹🎶⚡⚡⚡
😊🙏
My credit card is grateful that, being in the Antipodies, it's safe from being used on a couple of these...
Hi Colin, been enjoying the last couple of ‘cull the guitar’ vids, looking forward to the next one, I’ve only got 5 but find myself falling towards the dark side of you can never have enough, I tell myself at least I’m not as bad as Colin, which helps keep my addiction at bay, keep up the great work
My fave guitar review channel by far
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions, I find it hard to let go of things as well. Enjoyed the vid as always, Cheers!
Colin thanks again for sharing more of your treasures! I'm glad you're keeping the Epiphone Crestwood Custom I bet that's a cracking guitar! I like it because of the mini humbuckers, vibrato unit and unusual looks. Its the underdog of the guitar market that's dominated by Gibsons and Fender types. So cool! Also love love love your P-90 SG Standard mate! I've got 5 SGs (4 Gibsons and 1 Epiphone)in my arsenal and a Guild Polara S-100. Thinking of letting a couple guitars (18 in total) go but its tough! Thanks again for this great vid!
I'm def going to get myself a Tele Delux after watching you play this one...my favourite so far, Col.
Great follow up vid Colin! Yep some hard choices to make, but if that frees up space and cash to grab some more its all good, plus those guitars will go off and get played. Seriously looking at culling some of mine just to get more space and cash to repeat the process. Great playing as always too mate cheers.
Cheers Steve! 😎👍
Tea and nibbles at the ready, good sir.
That black Danelectro is beautiful.
Aloha Colin! Tough decisions to make.
Bah! I was hoping for a minute the Wilko Tele was going and I thought I might have a chance. But fair play, do keep it and love it.
Another great video! What can I say other than my wallet is glad I don't live in the UK :) Look forward to Part 3 with anticipation!
The 70's Tele is just a beauty. Perfect combination in my humble opinion. I'd keep hold of that gem boss.
Just watched the vid on the TV website, more amazing guitars, I couldn't sell most of them if they were mine !! 🎸😆
I remember when Rick Parfitt used to play a SG junior. Back about 1972/1973. Pile-driver era. He sounded great with that guitar.
Rick Parfitt bought his famous Telecaster from McCormack's music shop in Glasgow which was just down from the Apollo Theatre where Quo were playing. The amount of famous faces I saw in there.
I struggled to sort out my collection of 14 Guitars god knows how you will fair with your monster collection.
Like the SG jr 👍
Ah, but for the distance between us. I'd take you up on something or other, but the shipping would kill me. Nice shares, though.
Colin, dude. You are a better man than me. I can’t even get myself to sell one of my 1.6 million nearly identical overdrive pedals. If only you were closer, I’d happily trade a bunch of gear with you.
Yep, got a few together and taking down to sweetwater along with 4 amps and about 8 pedals. I decided to just take the whole lot and get it all done at the same time, no listing or shipping. The culling has started for me. Thanks for the video.
Yes it's tough but it's also quite cathartic really.... I hope!
A difficult choice and a dilemma. I wish you a good choice for sale. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸
Ahhhhhh.....the Wayne Kramer!!
As huge MotoGP fan of decade's and still..58 .. I got that ..rip M.S
Ciao Marco! 🖤
Another great episode. Awesome playing.
They are so hard to let go, I say I'm gonna sell some of mine, but in the end most stay.
I have a 2015 Epi 339, and just bought the Sire H7, so the 339 will be going to be replaced with my first Telecaster. I have 9 in my collection. The tele just may be the end of the collection.
I love the look of the SG's but I just can't get used to the really thin body and neck dive.
Keep up the excellent content.
When we think of the guitars we have owned and then sold, sometimes it pulls on the heart strings. For me it’s an age thing now, I recently did a Swedish Death Clean. It was very satisfying to say the least, however there were no guitars involved 😂 Great video as always Colin and with respect I feel your pain, I’m sure the jury will occasionally be asked to reconsider their verdict 😂 Have a great weekend mate 🤘💜
I was sure the joke was gonna be that you say, "I ddddon't think... I'll be selling this one." after every single guitar. That'd crack me up.
I'd bang that white, special run Jag in the beginning. I love that one and I can probably afford it.
If the squizzy Jag was listed, its gone already.
Decision, decisions eh !? I can sympathise/empathise with you Colin. I have vowed to do the same as you this year----I don't have nearly as many as you but it's still 20+. I have suffered from seller's remorse before and the probability is I will again. I still miss my beloved 1962 Fender Precision.😮💨
To scrape off finish, try using cabinet scrapers. Don't use something like a chisel. Cabinet scrapers will not gouge the surface.
That poly on those Fenders is a bastard to remove mate, we tried heat guns, scrapers ....then a chisel!!
Once you get a start, it lifting in slabs, it's like urethane.
Yes it's definitely easier said that done! 😆👍
@@baabaabaa-yp2jh So I guess Mick on That Pedal Show was right when he said "After the apocalypse all that will be left will be cockroaches, Keith Richards and poly finishes"!
@@georged9615 Hahaha,! I've heard the cockroaches and Keef, but not with the poly finish!
TPS is a gd show, Dan's full on with his Gig Rig gear, and they play some nice guitars.
A mate and I took the paint off of a Tele, then have it a mob of nitro (from a can), the Teles pretty flat, came out looking great...
So, another mate wanted us to recoat his Strat...that was a mongrel!
Hope you had an easier time than us mate!!
Great show Colin, took me back to being 15 “ Bloody hell mate a Zenta “ that was my first guitar too same colour but the one pickup version back in 73 , my Mum bless her bought me it on the never never , i worked my ass off to buy an Audition Amp from Woolworths to go with it 😊
Cheers mate 70s John
Cheers John, I wanted an audition amp but had to make do with plugging into my dads tape recorder auxiliary 😆👍
Good Evening Colin, so another one of those Guitarist quirks, you sell one of your favourite darlings, and after she's out the door, you just know it, she's 10K times better than when you still had her🙈
Morning all😊😊
Dont get rid of that 2016 SG
Hi Colin, just watched the bonus content on the TV channel. Let me tell you: you should cherish that 70s Tele, specifically because your missus bought it. There is no way my old lady would ever buy me a guitar. Absolutely hates them - "don't need more that one", despite filling our place with a shoe collection that would make Imelda Marcus blush. On the sell-off series in general, I know we all hate parting with instruments that, if only for a brief time, tell at least part of the story of our journey. But if it means getting to the next chapter, then let them go. Having said that, I have only four electrics - Chinese Casino, Epi Les Paul, Fender Vintera Tele and a Mexican lacquer Jag. I won't be selling any of them. Of course, when I'm gone, expect my missus will be on Reverb selling them, probably for the price she pays for a pair of slippers. All the best, mate.
😆👍
Dude, party the hell up.
I too feel regret selling a guitar, guilty about keeping it. I’m not as emotionally honest as this…but my answer is similar …plug it in and play!
Thinning out the herd is never an easy thing to do 🙄
However...Looking forward to the possibilities of even more exciting pieces being unearthed keeps the whole shebang going😉👍
Behind you all the way Colin😎👍👍
