i love this song from her. her voice calls to me. i love how she when she performs, shes really into her music. unlike many other artists out there. she can sing. doesnt need auto-tune, thank the lord.
To be honest i'd never heard of Florence & the Machine before i saw them live supporting blur at the M.E.N in Manchester. They absolutley blew us all away. It was completley unexpected. Her voice is just dinamite. I just had to get myself a copy of Lungs and i'm glad i did. It's really started to change my opinion on modern day music, that being that pretty much every band since the end of the britpop era have been dog shit. These guys on the other hand are the genuine exception. Fantastic stuff
Fucking hell, that almost made a grown man cry! She is amazing, just caught onto her with druming song and you got the love. Could just download the album but i'm waiting to get the CD for crimbo to hear the album in full! So beautiful as well.

In an interview with Steve Lamacq Florence explains that "Iv been doing all this heavy dark stuff and i just wanted somthing to express that sort of joyfull sort of side to the music. but then again once i started doing that the lyrics started getting dark again. and then it became all about like ritual sacrifice and like who is the lamb and who is the knife.
Sorry to disappoint. Although, the music video seems to have been inspired by representations of the Bacchanalia in art, particularly the Classical style (such as Nicolas Poussin's Bacchanalia) and perhaps even art from the Rococo period. I would have associated this song with drugs as well, especially since the first lyric is an allusion to Lewis Carroll, but Florence has made it quite clear that it's not about drug addiction.
I have this live session on my iPod and iTunes as i like it better than the album version and everytime i listen to it, my jaw is dropped in amazement. I look like a proper tit on the bus when I listen to it haha.

A great performance, but I really do prefer the higher notes in the chorus as in the album version. Gives it more of an epic feel. I love Florence
