The umpire's strike zone was HUGE all game, and yet the Yankees relievers couldn't stop walking batters.

Cavan Biggio has shown professionalism as far as I can tell. Earlier, he wasn't getting as much playing time as I believe he would have liked. He is doing well with the opportunities he has been given. Great job.
TOR is on a 5 game winning streak and playing well at the right time of the season. This team like I've said numerous times could be dangerous in the postseason especially with their lineup. Congrats on the win TOR 👍.
They will lose 5/6 to the rays and miss the postseason

Lots going on this game.
- If the ump's strike zone was any bigger, you could hit the guy and get a strike.
- Yankees pitching really let them down. 8th inning, 1-0 game, and they walk in runs 2 and 3. Gotta do better.
- Jays are looking strong (minus Texas series) and have a good chance to make the playoffs. Lets go Jays!!
Even without the wide strikezone King was really impressive, nasty movement on his fastballs and he was painting the corners. happy the Yankees pen handed this game to the Jays
The only good thing I can say about this game's umpiring is that they at least were consistent with the calls, not showing favoritism to one team

That homeplate umpire's strike zone was massive. The only decent thing was that he called it the same for both teams from what I could see. King is one heck of a good young pitcher. Gausman didn't let us down and thankfully the Jays' bats started working . Even though I'm a Jays fan I did feel badly for the Yankee pitchers in the 8th. The Jays have been in that situation before themselves but this time they were on the receiving end rather than the giving end. Keep it going Jays.
The Jays needed a Quality Start from Gausman tonight & that's just what they got as he completely shut down & shutout the Yankees over 6 scoreless innings, only giving up 3 hits while striking out 10 batters...Another very good team effort from the Blue Jays as they have out scored the Yankees 13 - 2 over the first two games of this series... Shout out to Peraza on the Yankees for striking out 4 times tonight to earn the Golden Sombrero😀... Jays go for the sweep tomorrow as the Wildcard race continues to heat up...

maybe, but I mean he was consistent with it. both pitchers got similar calls for balls and strikes.

Nice win Toronto! Umpires strike zone was something to watch but it was the same for both teams so it was constant.
Giancarlo Stanton isn’t a major league caliber player anymore. And even he didn’t have as poor a night as Lance Barrett.
I've seen Angel Hernandez have more competent days behind the plate.

Wow that home plate ump was screwing both teams tonight with that low strike zone cheating ump like that should be clubbed like a harp seal they are not there to determine the outcome of a game through bad calls that being said I'm not Yankees fan I'm a life long Jays fan. Pitchers should have just rolled the balls or thrown them into the stands near first and third bases because nothing was too low or too far off the plate according to that umpire.

I got king with cole yamamoto rodon cortes and thorpe as my 6 man rotation....king is nasty....93-98 with 2 and 4 seamers that plus sweeper a very good change up hes waaaaaaaaay better than schmidt

I'm from the UK and know what a fly out, pop-up fly, and tagged out are, but I struggle with force out, ground out and line outs. Would appreciate some help.
Line outs are like balls hit directly too a guy that weren't hit too high, and a ground out is when you hi a ground ball and are thrown out, a force out is when you have to go because of the guys on base behind you have to move and you get thrown out
This just shows that the game needs Hawkeye tech to come in for pitching

As a Jays fan, I will say that this home plate umpire made some bad calls.
This is what's wrong in MLB. There's a pitcher that's absolutely dominating the opposing batters. He's not walking anyone and has a record number of K's, so naturally he gets taken out of the game, and naturally the new pitcher can't get anyone out.
Ump zone was horrendous. But boones act is tired. The 2nd inning getting tossed?
That umpire needs glasses. How can anyone call strikes when the ball isn't anywhere near the strike zone.

Some things Schneider doesn't do are almost as frustrating as the things he does. This game he refused to send runners often enough. The Jays aren't pushing the envelope on getting runners started to stay out of double plays etc. I guess they just rely on people getting hits instead of moving runners along.
@@archie15900 Yah I know all that. Their worst base running errors are dumb guys who watch their hit then decide at first base to try for a double. Or sending some roly poly guy home when he has ZERO chance of scoring against guys with cannon arms. Especially when the runner should have been lifted for a pinch runner. Just basic base running 101 being ignored at the, supposedly, highest level.

I've been watching Blue Jays since day 1 - was at the very first game in the snow at the CNE - this was the worse ump I've ever seen.
Ump just has a low strike zone. Same calls for both pitchers though

The Yankee lineup has given up and clearly doesn’t care. I’m sure the guys have travel plans booked for a few hours after the very last game on Oct 1. Notice how the only guy to distinguish themselves was King, who is trying to develop himself as a starter and find a job on next years rotation. The rest of the team decided they don’t have anything to play for, not even for the pride of not getting beat at home by the jays.

Texas and Seattle play 7 games remaining against each other, and Seattle has to face Houston 3 games too. Starting tomorrow for a little bit, each win will count for more towards clinching. Right now, they need a 6-4 record to 100% get in, and if Texas and Seattle don't split a 4-3 record, that win number drops further and further.
But yes, they just need to keep winning. Looking slim though? Door's wide open. The onus is going to fall on the Rangers or the Mariners.

On the other hand though if I'm the Rays I would tank the series against the Jays because playing the Blue Jays is Tampa Bay's only hope of playing Baltimore in the ALDS. If Tampa Bay plays anyone else besides the Blue Jays in the wild card round, the Rays are one and done in the playoffs. Rays NEED to play the Jays in the playoffs.
Tampa Bay vs Houston = Houston win, Tampa Bay vs Texas = Texas win Tampa Bay vs Seattle = Seattle win, Tampa Bay vs Toronto = Tampa Bay win. Only wild card round Tampa Bay will win is against the Blue Jays and no one else.
